One of the more common injuries during a fire isn’t a skin burn, but lung damage from breathing in dangerous smoke. The Fire Escape Mask helps users to escape fire situations safely by catching smoke before it enters the lungs. A liquid reservoir is activated when the user opens the quick-access package, permeating the mask to absorb smoke. It not only protects the lungs, but also gives victims more time to escape to safety.

Yes, Movinkler! A self-adjusting fire sprinkler system that is simpler, smarter, and safer than most existing models. The design features a heat-detection camera and capacity for movement. Addressing existing issues like not operating until they reach a certain temperature, not functioning properly on dead spots and not controlling the water usage, the Movinkler offers solutions that seem acceptable.

Designed for firefighting teams, the Command Goal tablet-system aims to ease the management of emergency fire situations on-the-spot. An incredible improvement from ineffective white-board techniques, the device displays an accurate, constantly updated representation of the fire zone to aid in resource management and inter-departmental information sharing. I’m a little embarrassed to admit I have no idea how to use a common fire extinguisher… but I know I’m not the only one! While I’m sure it’s somewhat basic, compared to the SafeHome extinguisher, it’s way more complicated. Just pull the pin to release the trigger, point in the direction of the fire, and let ‘er rip!

Après un voyage au Mexique en mars 2013, le photographe Thomas Prior a pu immortaliser avec de superbes images une fête annuelle à Tultepec durant laquelle les citoyens se battent et s’amusent avec des petards et feux d’artifices. Un rendu impressionnant à découvrir dans la suite de l’article.
Le musicien suédois Simon Stalhamrhe alias Small Feet, a fait appel à Oskar Wrango pour la réalisation de son dernier clip, « Rivers ». Le feu devient part intégrante de l’identité visuelle de l’individu et rend la fuite éperdu de celui-ci quasi-mystique. Une expérience poétique à découvrir dans la suite.
Le site In Focus a réuni plusieurs photographies prises lorsque l’incendie dévastateur Powerhouse Fire a envahi le sud de la Californie au début du mois de juin. Des images très impressionnantes, d’une beauté terrible dont une majorité est l’œuvre de David McNew. Plus de détails dans la suite.
Vision Research & Abdel CineTech ont demandé à Brendan Bellomo et Greg Wilson de réaliser cette première vidéo filmée avec la « Phantom Flex4D Digital Cinema Camera ». Une vidéo illustrant un incendie et l’intervention des pompiers avec images au ralenti absolument incroyables à découvrir dans la suite.
