Visionary Lighting

The eye8 & eye16 lamps take inspiration from your peepers! Duh! Mountable on the wall, floor, desktop, or any other imaginable place, the multidirectional lens swivels to beam light anywhere the user desires. Furthermore, the inner and outer rings of the lights can be rotated 360° to widen or narrow the light, giving it even greater illuminating flexibility.

Vertical Challenge, Accepted!

Raúl Lázaro’s Giraffe Cup is proof that a small change in an otherwise classic design can go a loooong way to spark the imagination. The leggy design is both a cup and an art piece, sure to start conversations. Exotic enough to make a statement, but not so much that it looks like bad Tommy Bahama!

The stroller that grows up too…

As baby grows up from being pushed in a stroller, to taking his first steps, to learning to pedal a tricycle, the Piv-O stroller is there every step of the way! The “polifunctional” design needs only be adjusted as your child transitions from stage to stage, meaning there’s no need to waste money on numerous devices. By the time he’s grown out of it, he’ll be totally prepared to lose the training wheels and ride a real bike!

Double The Warmth

Inspired by the Asian idea that the earth was square and heaven was round, the Double Warm Multi-functional and Energy-efficient Coal Stove was conceptualized. It is designed to have a water-storage volume surrounding the furnace so that you can boil water while you use the stove for cooking. This hot water can be used for bathing etc. Nice idea, especially since it is aimed for the energy-starved counties where resources are expensive and scarce.

Biomimicry Transporter Bot

The PAFORM like one of the giant Jaeger robots from Pacific Rim… only it’s for real emergencies and not alien invasions! Designed for the distant future, the machine serves to aid in natural disaster situations by autonomously delivering everything from food and supplies to medical equipment and even smaller emergency vehicles. The PAFORM’s transforming shape is inspired by the pangolin, curling up in a similar manner and rolling to cover treacherous terrain.

Hot and Cold Waterfall

We never get a chance to see how the hot and cold water blend together within the faucet, before it cascades out like a stream. The Pavati Tap builds upon this element, to showcase how beautifully the two streams of water can create drama whilst you wash your hands. A Y-shaped waterfall effect mixes the cold and hot water into a single mutual waterfall, for your viewing pleasure. Sweet!

Details:

  • All the components of traditional taps such as the spout and dials were incorporated into the Pavati’s body.
  • The dual streams will vary in position and size depending on how the temperature dials are adjusted and thus the dual waterfalls also lend themselves to becoming a visual indicator of the current water temperature.
  • The Pavati uses standard mechanical parts which are in strong contrast to its avant-garde design aesthetic.
  • Using standard tap components was a very important factor in the design of the Pavati tap. The tap fits standard basins and uses generic cartridges for regulating the flow of water. When changing the temperature, the rotational force applied to the temperature dials is transferred via a flex shaft to the 180 degree turn cartridges.
  • Due to the use of standard components, the tap installation can easily be achieved with standard tools.

Great Balls of Bass

The Pop Up Bass is a playful take on the bass speaker that makes clever use of the low frequency vibrations emitted during playback. Lightweight styrofoam balls react to the vibrations and go wild when you crank it up! They stay in sync with the beat, moving to the music and creating a visual experience in addition to the high quality audio.

The Sound of Sight

The Synaesynth is a twist on the synthesizer that transforms the colors of your life into audible sound. The combination hardware/software translates imagery directly into music by pulling color data from a video feed, allowing the user to determine the input. The result is an interesting simulated “synaesthetic” experience! See it in action ->
