New York Fashion Week Fills The Shows’ Front Rows With Plenty Of Famous Faces!

Among the fashion elite who are actually granted access to the highly-exclusive Bryant Park tents are some of Hollywood’s most noted celebrities — after all, what kind of star would you be if you weren’t dressed by the best of the best in designer royalty? Some famous fashionistas like Kellie Pickler and Jessica Stroup couldn’t stay away from the glamour of the runway and were spotted warming up the front row seats of several designers’ shows, including Badgley Mischka, Pamella Roland, and Lela Rose; meanwhile, other more low-key VIPs saved their appearances for just their favorite style mavens, like Mickey Rourke for Domenico Vacca. While New York Fashion Week is ultimately about the clothing, many stylish starlets’ presences in the front row are inevitably photographed even more frequently than the designer threads themselves (oh, the price of fame), but most celeb attendees made sure they shared the spotlight and showed their support by arriving in their favorite pieces from the headlining label, like Brittany Snow in her gorgeous beaded Diane von Furstenberg dress. I know being famous must be exhausting, but I really can’t think of anything I wouldn’t give to switch places with one of those front-row ticket holders just for a day (preferably Herve Leger day, please), even if I had to be Paris Hilton. Check out the slideshow for more pictures of stylish superstars, both in the audience and backstage at some of New York Fashion Week’s hottest shows!

Style Steal: Get Angelina Jolie’s Dazzling Oscar Jewelry Look

A priceless stud hanging from your wrist and some priceless stones hanging from your heavenly-constructed head could only mean one thing: you’re Angelina Jolie. While it may be difficult to nab a studly look-a-like like Brad Pitt, one fashion must-have can be mimicked. As if an appearance by the Brangelina duo at the Academy Awards wasn’t enough to turn heads, Angelina stole the red-carpet with a bit of ear candy: her 115 carat Lorraine Schwartz Colombian emerald drop earrings that have been estimated to be valued in the high millions of dollars. The boldly shaped and colored jewels peeking out from her long flowing hair formed a fashion statement that will be remembered for many Oscar nights to come. Her already elegant look, premised with a premium choice black Elie Saab gown, was brought to a whole new level of movie-star mogul-dom with the pair of deep, piercing green gemstones- plain-jane black never looked quite so, uh, un-plain. Click the slideshow to see some style picks that follow Jolie’s jewelry look at prices that are … less than millions.

Influential International Style: Carla Bruni

I’ll openly admit that I have a girl-crush on Carla Bruni. The beautiful model/singer/First Lady of France is a bona fide style icon of our time. Although you might not be able to recreate the sound of her luscious voice (I dare you to listen to “L’amour” from her Quelqu’un M’a Dit album, and not be totally envious), you can recreate some of her style secrets. Whether it’s a classic black dress and tasteful diamond necklace, a chic working girl grey suit with a bright coat, or a belted overcoat for an outdoor public appearance, Bruni always looks stunning, appropriate and stylish. Think classic, flattering shapes, mixing neutrals with brights, and accessories that enhance an outfit as a whole, without making a statement of their own. Basically, think like your inner First Lady! Check out my SLIDESHOW for a few pieces to Carla Bruni-ze your wardrobe.

Style Steal: Get Kate Winslet’s Oscar Jewelry Look!

It must be pretty good to be Kate Winslet right about now, and I’m thinking the designer dresses and jewelry have very little to do with that! But given her immense talent and grace, emulating her red carpet choices might just be the closest we come to being like her, and I have a feeling that’s something many are willing to settle for. At Sunday night’s Academy Awards Winslet paired her Yves Saint Laurent dress with stunning Chopard diamond chandelier earrings, which accented her look beautifully without distracting from her gown. We found a similar pair by Slane & Slane for under $500, a teeny fraction of what the Chopard diamonds would cost, at Neiman Marcus- we love how classic and intricate they are. Don’t want to shell out quite so much? We’ve come up with a few much more affordable options, so you can add a little red carpet style to your everyday look. See Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, And Many More Stars On The Red Carpet At The Academy Awards!

With New York fresh from fashion week festivities you may think all of the excitement in concentrated on the east coast, but last night’s Academy Awards are all the proof we need that Hollywood can hold its own in this ever-changing arena. With eight wins for “Slumdog Millionaire” including Best Picture and a long-awaited Oscar for Kate Winslet for her performance in “The Reader,” the red carpet wasn’t the only impressive part of the night, but is indeed worth another look. Marion Cotillard was stunning in Dior (she’s also the face of the brand), and Penelope Cruz looked absolutely divine in vintage Pierre Balmain. Angelina Jolie’s Elie Saab gown, though understated, was a refreshing change from the draped silhouettes she’s been showing off as of late, and Natalie Portman shined in bubblegum pink Rodarte. New York Fashion Week Runway: The Heart Truth’s Celeb-Filled Red Dress Collection

I can’t think of a more festive precursor to Valentine’s Day than a red-carpeted runway show graced with an array of gorgeous crimson gowns — all for the sake of healthy hearts! The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection, fashioned by a throng of top designers and shown off by a number of notable female celebrities and athletes, has become the traditional New York Fashion Week fall-preview opener with its collaborative and charitable fashion show aimed to help promote heart disease awareness. The wide variety of stunning ruby-hued gowns and cocktail dresses, designed by the likes of Carmen Marc Valvo, Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson, Donna Karan, and Max Azria (and many more!), were worn by a parade of proud women celebrities including Katie Couric, Amanda Bynes, Jennie Garth, and Olympic gold medalists Nastia Liukin and Kristi Yamaguchi, who all set their nerves aside to strut down the ramp for the cause. Even attendees who came without a Valentine found it difficult to not give in to the occasion and fall in love with the stunning sheaths!

Colors: ruby reds and deep crimson
Silhouettes: all styles from tiny tube dresses to flowing evening gowns!
Celebs: (aside from the star-studded runway) Christian Siriano, Kellie Pickler, Miss J. Alexander

Video Style Steal: Kelly Clarkson Proves Our Lives Would Suck Without Hot Fashion Finds

Kelly Clarkson has already marked 2009 as the year of her comeback with her record-breaking new single “My Life Would Suck Without You” and her upcoming fourth album “All I Ever Wanted” due out this March… and I’d say it’s about time! Our favorite American Idol winner has slipped under the radar for a year or two, and we single folk have certainly missed her solid girl-power singles (there hasn’t been another liberating breakup song to belt out the car window quite as satisfying as “Since U Been Gone”) and soulfully poignant power ballads to get us through those romantic rough patches. And in her absence, plenty of new female performers have stepped up to the plate to both fill in the void on the charts and serve as our fashion muses — such as Katy Perry’s naughty pin-up girl style and Duffy’s jazzy throwback feel — but there just hasn’t been any other performer to do the casual-yet-chic rocker chick vibe justice quite like Kelly can. While some Clarkson critics may say her new song lyrics seem strangely self-sacrificing and sunny compared to her previous ex-bashing persona we all knew and loved, her video for “My Life Would Suck Without You” shows that even though her bitter lyrics may have sweetened up a bit, she’s still got her playful-yet-empowered edginess and sophisticated rockstar style, not to mention tons of hair-whipping energy to boot. With lots of layered jewelry, the right cropped blazer, and the legs to pull off a pair of shiny leggings as pants, you can put your own spin on both Kelly’s power-performer style and her joyriding girl-next-door get-up she rocks in the video. Take a look at the video yourself, then check the slideshow to see how you can channel Kelly’s kick-ass comeback looks- no stylist needed!

Check Out The New Maz Azria Ads Featuring Nastia Liukin!

Five time Olympic medalist Nastia Liukin may be known for her moves on the balance beam and uneven bars, but is the fashion world ready for her athleticism? She may be only 5’3″ but she packs a lot of strength and grace just like any seasoned model as the new face of Max Azria’s Spring 2009 campaign. Stylehive got some behind-the-scenes pictures of Nastia at her photoshoot. From the looks of the pictures, I guess you really can do anything in those strappy black wedges! With that and her brief cameos in the movie “Stick It” and hit show “Gossip Girl,” now we all know the camera loves her. You’ll recall her collaboration with Vanilla Star Jeans in addition to front row seats at more than a few fashion shows last season- clearly, her poise and creativity extend well beyond the gym.

Get Heidi Klum’s Casual-Glam Look!

At a taping for Germany’s Next Top Model at the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, supermodel Heidi Klum showcased a fabulous casual-chic style. Heidi mixed it up by tucking a funky polka dotted blouse from McGinn into distressed flare leg dVb jeans topped off with a simple black Libertine cardigan and a skinny beige belt. She added some serious glam to the look with a large studded black tote and of-the-moment Yves Saint Laurent tribute platform sandals. The result was a look that radiated a high-fashion sensibility with an edgy-cool vibe. Not to mention, one that is totally wearable and accessible for all sorts of style-savvy ladies.
