imageYou almost wouldn’t expect something so whimsically designed and sweetly packaged from the seriously sophisticated and cynically chic French! Just to prove that they are always unpredictable and one-step ahead, French designers Crea Crea and Crescioni Vanina are introducing Thermos-minis! These cute little drink containers are the baby-siblings of the huge, heavy, stainless steel versions that my dad lugs around in order to save money on coffee. They are obviously smaller, but still hold enough that you won’t be left wanting more caffeine after drinking the last drops. These Thermos-minis hold about 8 oz of whatever drink you want… hot, cold, or spiked (just kidding). Besides keeping a good temperature on your drinks (because if it didn’t, it wouldn’t be a Thermos), these Thermos-minis also come in an array of fun and colorful designs and patterns. Personalize your morning pick-me-up by choosing anything from Asian-inspired floral patterns to multi-colored dots and shapes! There’s even ones that resemble a tiny man or an umbrella toting frog! All the designs are different, but all are whimsical, care-free and full of bright color. Their size allows you to pop them into a purse or tote, or to throw into the backseat of a car. Showing a clear penchant for luxury brands like Chanel, Prada and Yves San Laurent, yet comfortable wearing Chucks and a cartoonish headband with them, she certainly has a look all her own. In the same way that Madonna did in the 1980’s, Lily Allen is probably owed back royalties for style “ideas” taken and mass-produced at Urban Outfitters. How does she do it? She starts with a beautiful piece, no matter if it’s a gorgeous top or a fantastic prom-style dress. She brightens the outfit with colored accessories and bold, thick bling. Hot In The Hive: Retro-Style Internet Phone

imageDo you have a gift for gab and talk on the phone almost constantly? Do you have a special place in your heart for all things obsolete and/or retro? Do you have a laptop that’s almost as old as you are? If you answered “yes” to any or all of these questions, I may have the perfect vintage gadget for you! Urban Outfitters’ Internet Phone (no, not that kind of iPhone) is about as unnecessary as laptop accessories get… that is, unless your computer doesn’t have a built-in mic and speakers like most are made with nowadays. In that case, it’s totally useful for finally carrying out successful Skype conversations and iChat video discussions (that’s only assuming you’ve equipped your ancient computer with an external webcam) via a plug-in phone receiver made just for your computer. Otherwise, the retro-looking cyber accessory is still pretty covetable, for the sake of cuteness alone… and I guess it could also help keep the receiving end of your e-conversations on the down-low from snooping roommates. So in conclusion, it may not be the most mandatory addition to your shopping list, but the fun things never are, are they?

Jessica Alba Is Trendy in MK2K Plaid

imageJessica Alba was spotted leaving the ever-trendy Nobu, fittingly in a very “in” plaid blouse by MK2K. She paired her top with a black cardigan, black pants and simple jewelry, making this low-key outfit chic and comfortable. Jessica would look good in anything but this shirt works to highlight her super-slim figure. It is also an outfit that would look good on a variety of people, whether or not they have the body Jessica does. With a smocked front, this inexpensive blouse ($143!) is great for concealing a larger mid-section (not that Jessica has one by the looks of her bikini pics). Paired with skinner jeans, shorts or a skirt, this shirt can be dressed up or down depending on how you want to wear it. MK2K is a brand beloved by many stars and regular shoppers alike. Their line consists of adorable tops, fun and flirty dresses and versatile blouses. Plaid has been a trend we have been seeing for a while and it looks to have no signs of going out anytime soon. Getting Jessica’s exact look is very easy. Simply pair this top with a pair of skinny black jeans or pants. Accessorize with thin gold hoops, a gold necklace, red nails and a Chanel-like bag! imageIt’s been said that Pauline Trigere never tried to dress a woman that she didn’t understand. And we’ll just say that she understood us well. Possessing what has been described as an “awe-inspiring” cutting technique, she was still demonstrating her skills to fashion students at FIT just months before her death at the age of 93. This three-time winner of the Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award was known for her exquisite tailoring and pioneering use of wool in evening wear. But her extraordinary skills were also evident in daywear and suits and she wasn’t afraid to create with more touchy-feely fabrics like chiffon and silk also.
