Lace Up Them Burly Boots: Men’s Boots For Spring

Winter’s almost over — and it’s certainly seen the likes of weather-protection footwear to boot. But spring is a comin’! In the midst of a season switch, Mother Nature is pretty good at fooling us all — especially when it comes to what to wear. Our feet aren’t any exception! So, what else do you wear when you’ve got weather to battle one day yet see signs of spring the next but boots! Some of us have mastered the art of the boot — street sidewalks are filled with what seems to be mostly women dominating the boot world, as they have worn the movement so well that they’ve transcended cross seasons. Guy shoe gurus too have created a balance with some of these springier boot picks! If you’re stuck in a climate that demands mukluks one day and galoshes the next, slide ’em on, buckle up and enjoy the ride, boys, because the macho invasion of boot season has begun!

Puddle Jumpers: Our 10 Favorite Pairs Of Rain Boots!

Puddle stompers, wellies, or good old rain boots- whatever you call them, a great pair can really ensure that a downpour doesn’t put a damper on your style! And honestly, when else can you get away with wearing teeny printed kittens past age six? I have to laugh when I see people wearing those too-serious rain boots, where you know they’re hoping no one notices that their shoes are in fact made of rubber. I say roll with the weather, embrace J.Crew’s critter-covered creations, and keep on splashing through your day. Or rock a pair of Hunters for the most adorably understated rainy day look yet! And if you’re looking for fresh new styles, Plueys has the cutest globally-inspired galoshes for you! Click the slideshow for ten of our favorite puddle-proof pairs.

Fanciful Footwear For Barefoot Beach Brides

Ah, beach weddings: the sunset, the sea breeze.. and, ugh, the sand. Whatever will you wear on your feet to capture the look of elegance without getting that pesky beach caught up in your heels? To be the ultimate beach bride, consider this alternative to those expensive white satin designer pumps: barefoot sandals. They’re bottomless, so they let you enjoy the soft, pillowy waterfront, but their enchanting charms adorn your feet in a special way that Cinderella’s slippers never could. Barefoot sandals are often also referred to as slave anklets, but there’s a special market for brides to be that are planning to say “I do” in the sand dunes. While some are simple, tailoring your toes in pretty beads, others sparkle to an extravagant extreme — all priced well below the standard full-foot-covering shoes! For all you beautiful beach brides, take a look at the slideshow for some fun and fancy footwear to make your feet as beautiful a sight as your ceremony’s locale!

Valentine’s Day Sneakers With A Whole Lot Of Heart & Sole

If you thought Valentine’s Day footwear was just about red high heels, gravity-defying stilettos, and cutesy pink ballet flats, you must not be the sneaker freak I am! This Valentine’s Day, all our favorite athletic shoe brands are showing us their romantic side (and in some cases, their cartoon-y and kitschy sides too) with bright red and pink color combos and heart patterns galore. From Nike Dunks embellished with X’s and O’s to bold red floral Pumas, these flashy footwear are bound to give your feet plenty of love and support (and attention) this February 14th! While they’re not exactly year-round practical, and quite frankly I’m not sure even I would be caught dead in any high-top conversation-heart-covered creation, you can’t deny that these sneaks are adorably festive, not to mention a cheerful addition to any hardcore collector’s closet display. Plus, you have to admit – they’re not that much crazier than the usual in-your-face color combos found in lines by the likes of Nike, Vans, and Creative Recreation. Whether you’re bold enough to show them off on the street or just like to keep them polished on display, check out the slideshow for more sweet V-Day sneakers!

Adidas Originals Collection Gets Gilded And Glitzy With Jeremy Scott

I was on the edge of my seat when I heard that Jeremy Scott signed a multi-season deal with Adidas Originals. Best known for his outlandish punk-rock, avant-garde clothing and themed collections, I was excited to see what he was going to do for the Adidas capsule collection. Sneaker-heads and fashionistas everywhere are awaiting the first collection to hit the selected boutiques on February 1st, 2009, and in the following month it will be featured in Adidas Originals stores ’round the globe and online. The crazy collection features leopard print, sequins, fringe and, in true Jeremy Scott fashion, lots of gold. Highlights include some pretty fly gold-winged sneakers, a heavily sequined track jacket, and a leopard print hoodie with ears and a tail! These Adidas duds are definitely made more for the club than for your gym down the street, and are not for the fashion shy! Sneakers will range in prices of $120 to $250, while the men’s and women’s activewear will go from $45 to $450. Check out the slideshow for a preview of the fun and flashy collection!

Do You Collect Fashion? From Handbags To Shoes, We Want To Know!

These days, everyone has their vices and collections. There are weird ones like postage stamp to and salt & pepper shaker collections (I’ll ‘fess up, I collect any and every Kodak Brownie camera I can get my hands on). So if you can think it, I’m sure someone collects it. These days, it’s easy to share your collection with the world and it’s no different on YouTube with people showing everything from their makeup or concert t-shirt collections. I found a cool stop motion video featuring a guy’s impressive Nike Dunks collection. Inspired by his creativity, we want to know if you have a closet full of True Religions, Birkins, or Manolos! It’s not an addiction- it’s a collection.

Five Hot Designer Heels That You Can Actually Walk In!

It’s hard to forget the many falls on Prada’s spring runway, not to mention the catwalk stumbles at Rodarte,Pucci and Peter Som. It’s a long way down for those tall models to begin with — why not throw on some 5 inch heels? TIMBER! These models are trained professionals. If they can’t walk in those heels, how are we mere mortals supposed to even attempt it? With shoes getting taller, the danger level has hit an ultimate high. The best-selling Yves Saint Laurent “Tribute” sandal has an ankle twisting, leg breaking 5 1/2 inch heel. At this rate, they’re going to have to start making designer crutches too. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find a sexy, high-heeled shoe that doesn’t resemble that of a stripper’s, let alone a torture device. In my attempt to save us all from sprained ankles and busted knees, I’m making this plea to designers: Please make less dangerous shoes! In the meantime, check out my slideshow for my top five picks of sensibly sexy shoes, all with heels under 3 and a half inches.
