Lo Bosworth Dishes On Style And The New Season Of The Hills!

imageLo Bosworth’s most memorable quip about fashion may be “I have not found a cute white dress, like, ever. They’re all trashy and tacky.” This, of course, was spoken right before the screen cuts to a shot of Kristin Cavallari in a clingy sleeveless eggshell number (meow!). Die-hard watchers will remember that infamous scene from Season 1 of “Laguna Beach,” where we were first introduced to much of the cast that now makes up “The Hills” milieu. Now, it’s been five years… has Lo managed to ever find a decent white dress? “I have!” she laughed during our interview last week. “I just got a great white shift dress from Topshop that’s beautifully decorated with little black beads all over it. White doesn’t really do great things for me from behind, though.” Her candidness and reversal of judgment demonstrate a lot about her. Loyal but level-headed, the Laguna/Hills star may have strong opinions but isn’t inflexible about viewing them from another angle. It’s that same distinct yet laidback quality that also marks her personal style, which I happen to love — easy yet elegant. Her wardrobe must-haves? “I like to really combine high-end with low-end stuff, especially things that are more ‘evening’ with others that are more casual,” she shares. “[My style] is a good representation of a lot of LA fashion, and fashion just in Southern California: jeans, an amazing leather jacket, and a great blouse, purse, and heels… it’s a good look: casual and just easy.” I also asked Lo about stylists (she doesn’t use one and puts her looks together mostly on her own), favorite designers (Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Lanvin), and beauty obsessions (her new Shu Uemura sheer orange lip gloss). So will Lo, who’s just been given FLING Chocolate’s first-ever “Best Fling” honor for “her confidence in being naughty, but not that naughty,” be getting up to any trouble on the new season of “The Hills?” “For the next few episodes of the show, you’re going to see me moderating between a lot of people. I try not to get too involved in the drama and be the calm between the storms!” Let’s see: that’s “moderating,” “drama,” and “storms” all in one description. Yep — sounds like “The Hills” is back! Tune in to MTV for the season premiere on Tuesday, September 29 at 10pm! Photo Credit: PR Photos

J.Lo, Katy, Or Vivica: Who Rocked Basic Black Best At The “This Is It” Premiere?

imageIt’s no surprise that a documentary on the late and great Michael Jackson would draw in a crowd of A-list celebrities, all wanting to show their love and support for the King of Pop. The tragic and sudden death of the greatest entertainer of all time sent shock waves through the community and “This Is It” is one way to commemorate Jackson, as well as keep him with us for a little longer. Everybody who’s anybody, and their mom and kids, showed up dressed to impress with styles ranging from dressed up tees to floor-sweeping gowns. One common color that celebrities showed up in was chic head-to-toe black ensembles that were edgy, sexy, sleek or just plain sweet. Perhaps it was out of respect for the loss that the Jackson family and the rest of the world has recently endured, but there’s no denying that they all looked like “Pretty Young Things.” So who do you think rocked the basic black look the best? Was it Jennifer Lopez in her edgy black panel sheath and rockin’ knee boots? Or perhaps you preferred Katy Perry’s lacy, glittering gown? And there’s no question that Vivica A. Fox looked smoking in a body-hugging, one-shouldered mini. Take the poll below and let us know who you think looked best at the Michael Jackson’s “This Is It’ Premiere!

LimeLife Reports: Madonna To Model For Dolce & Gabbana

imageMadonna is certainly all over the place these days. Instead of fading away as she gets older, she just seems to be getting more and more popular for more and more things (including dating a much, much younger man). And she’s still gorgeous enough to be modeling, too! Madonna is set to be the newest model for Dolce & Gabbana! And in case you didn’t know, it’s not the first time Madonna has worked with the popular designer. They actually designed the costumes for Madonna’s 1993 Girlie Show tour. And more recently, they just designed the costumes for her Sticky and Sweet tour. Since they’ve been working together for so long, it seems only natural for Madonna to start modeling for them, especially since she recently finished her stint as the spokesmodel for Louis Vuitton. According to Dolce & Gabbana themselves, “To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true.” We believe it! Click over to our friends at LimeLife to read more!

“Gossip Girl” Gets Even More Fashionable!

imageYes, it’s possible. As if the clothes on “Gossip Girl” weren’t chic enough, now, two very well-known fashion designers are making cameos on the show’s upcoming new season. And those women are Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman. Both Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman were spotted at the “Gossip Girl” studio in Long Island, NY, filming scenes for the new season. It’s a big secret how the two fashionistas will be woven into the show’s plot, but it was revealed that some of the set was made to look like Tory Burch’s office. So, we’re thinking one of the girls is trying to get a job? Or a college internship? Chapman said, “I am a huge fan [of Gossip Girl]. I was very nervous [on-set].” We have a feeling she did a fine job. We’re getting more and more excited about the new season of “Gossip Girl” as we keep hearing about new cast members and guest celebrities. It’s gonna be a good one! Tory and Georgina’s scenes will air on the October 5th episode. Click on over to our friends at Limelife for more!

Rock a Leather Mini Like Isla Fisher

imageAt the “Rock A Little, Feed A Little” benefit concert in L.A., the adorable Isla Fisher got in touch with her sexy side, rocking this season’s leather trend in a fun and funky way. Isla paired her leather mini with a cool tie-dye tee-shirt and accessorized the look with funky peep-toe booties, a pendant necklace, and an edgy cuff. I love how Isla tempered the inherent sexiness of her leather mini with a more casual top to keep the look from being too vampy. Balance is a key concept to keep in mind when rocking anything leather. Isla also gets points for showing accessory-restraint. When you’re outfit is this cool, you really don’t need to pile on many extras.

Nelly Furtado Explores Her Fashion Mishaps On MTV’s “What Were U Thinking?”

imageWe all have a few outfits we’ve worn in the past that, when confronted with the pictures, makes us want to burn every piece that went into the outfit along with all the photos in a big evidence-ridding bonfire. Who hasn’t scrolled through photos of themselves on Facebook and with a quick click of the “remove tag” button thought, “What was I thinking?!” Luckily for us non-famous folk, our fashion mishaps and momentary lapses of judgment aren’t printed on every newsstand tabloid, paraded on national television, or discussed in Twitter trending topics. On MTV’s web series, “What Were U Thinking?” famous fashionistas like Kim Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari get a chance to defend their style choices, give praise to designers, make fun of their own faux pas, and provide us insight into some of their biggest “WWUT?” moments (for example, was Nelly’s “I’m Like a Bird” get-up for real?!). Click “See Video” to watch the show’s most recent guest, Nelly Furtado, dish on her favorite funky wardrobe highs and lows, then click over to the show’s official site to see past guests’ episodes and the show’s October 12th finale with “Twilight’s” Ashley Greene.

Rock a Bold and Bright Look Like Jordin Sparks

imageAt this year’s Teen Choice Awards, Jordin Sparks ventured into more fashion-forward territory with an amazingly bold look that wasn’t too over-the-top. Jordin wasn’t afraid to stand out on the green carpet, opting for a striking blue strapless dress from Bebe which perfectly accentuated her curves. She gave the neon trend a try with a sleek bright orange clutch from Rebecca Minkoff with matching neon orange nails. She rounded out the mix with a a funky, yet still understated pair of Alexander Wang platform sandals and a gorgeous pair of glitzy earrings from Lee Angel. Take a cue from Jordin and opt for bright and bold pieces to blaze a trail at your next cocktail party. Check out my SLIDESHOW to get the look!

Katy Perry Interviews Karl Lagerfeld At Paris Fashion Week

imageQuirky songstress Katy Perry chats with Karl Lagerfeld after his show at Paris Fashion Week in an exclusive interview for Elle.com. It’s certainly a rare chance to peek into the personality of one of the world’s most esteemed designers. Is he intimidating? Yes, but there is a certain warmth about his demeanor, even as he corrects Katy when she expresses her adoration for the fabric, not metal embellishment on a particular dress. The two discuss music and fashion, and we learn fun facts like what he listened to as he got dressed this morning and what song he feels describes himself best (by none other than Lily Allen, of course). His response to the requisite “if you could trade places with any designer” question is a careful mix of smug satisfaction and pure respect. Oh, and he makes jokes too! Click here to see the interview for yourself.
