Get Your Hair Out Of Your Eyes And Under A Hip Headband!

Whoever coined the phrase “let your hair down” as a means of relaxation must not have had the high-maintenance mane I have. While I can’t bear the thought of getting rid of my characteristic side-swept bangs or the considerably weighty length of my hair, I have to admit that my default long straightened style does tend to hinder my productivity at times by obstructing my view of whatever it is I’m trying to accomplish. My usual solution (especially when I’m frustrated with my fringe constantly sneaking it’s way back into my vision) is to just whip out a couple elastics on the spot, tether it all back & then stick in a dozen bobby pins to harness in the strays… but I can’t help but feel bad for my stressed tresses, not to mention horribly un-chic. However, with so many hot hair accessories that are stylish right now, ranging from suede and beaded headbands to peacock plumed elastics (and even the resurrected scrunchie?!), there are tons of trendy ways to maintain a carefree coif that doesn’t get in the way when you’re trying to work! Say goodbye to haphazard messy buns and too-tight last-minute ponytails with more trendy hair pieces in the slideshow!

Get That Golden Globes Glow With Celeb-Tested Bare-Faced Beauty Tips!

The Golden Globes may have come and gone (leaving Oscar buzz in the air!), but it’s definitely not too late to pick up some fresh-faced beauty tips straight from the red carpet! While the paparazzi parade to the big event is commonly an outlet for dramatic red lips and come-hither smokey eyes, many of this year’s nominees and attendees opted for a noticeably more natural makeup look. Though settling on more bare-faced, bone-hued beauty may seem boring or inappropriate for one of Hollywood’s most dramatic nights, this fair-toned style actually fared quite well for the event’s lovely leading ladies. From shimmering subtle shades of gold to pale rosy pinks, stunning starlets like Megan Fox and Eva Mendes proved that delicate hues are anything but dull! Check out the slideshow for more natural-hued makeup looks and the products you can use to achieve them, straight from some of A-list’s elite! Photo credit: PR Photos

Beauty.Com Partners With Zero + Cornejo Maria On An Exclusive Travel Case

imageBeauty.com is at it again with another one of their famous designer collaborations. This time around, they collaborated with the award-winning fashion label Zero + Maria Cornejo in creating a super chic travel bag stuffed with 16 deluxe hair, makeup, and skincare samples. The travel bag trio features zippered compartments in three shapes that can be carried individually or as a set. “This bag is based on the three shapes that always inspire the collection — a circle, a square, and a triangle,” says Cornejo. “When I was designing the bag, I was thinking of busy women like myself who, when they travel, need maximum flexibility. I love the idea that each separate compartment snaps apart so that you can separate your products and just grab one item and go!”

The entire set is valued at $140 but will be yours free with any purchase of $100 or more at beauty.com/zeromariacornejo.

Flirt Shamelessly This Season With Fall’s Spiky Lashes

imageI’ve always been a serious eyeliner girl, collecting everything from smoky kohl pencils in every color to budge-proof creme liner pots to liquid glitter liner. But my most recent beauty obsession? Spiky lashes — either blacked-out versions of your natural lashes, or a little added help from a handy set of falsies like Kim Kardashian’s. Unlike thick, showgirl-esque, llama-looking lashes that focus on heavy volume, fall’s take on the lash trend gives you dramatic length without verging on unnatural. In other words, you’ll have people commenting on how jealous they are of your flirty peepers instead of asking if you just walked off a Vegas stage. Take a look at the slideshow to browse some products that’ll help you get your lashes long and spiky! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Hot In The Hive: R.I.P. Tombstone Nail Color

imageSo far, we’ve given you lots of options for Halloween makeup, in case you’re looking for an excuse to splurge on more dramatic products and shades you may normally not allow yourself to indulge in on any average day. But what if your beauty budget doesn’t exactly allow for high-end costume-y makeup you know you’ll never use again until it’s way past its expiration date? Luckily, the lines carried at Sephora aren’t the only ones boasting Halloween-friendly products — bargain drugstore brands are going festive with their shades too. Wet ‘N Wild’s costume-specific line, Fantasy Makers, has just released their own mini-collection of R.I.P. Tombstone Nail Polish just for the spooky season. While the three different shades (shiny black, multicolored glitter, and a sheer glow-in-the-dark shade) are pretty “Halloweenie,” they’re inexpensive enough to be worth the splurge. Plus, the bottle is totally cute, in an appropriately morbid sort of way…

Price: $2.50 each
