Ah, Sinfully Cool Fresh Air

The Window Air Purifier is an innovative design that can purify the air, keep the heat away during hot days and keep in the warmth during winters. The shutters are in sync with the control panel that dictates its swing and purification action. A neat piece of innovation!

Fresh Air Wands

How smart! The compact Vita air freshener and purifier is designed to deodorize and clean air everywhere from the closet to the kitchen. Ionic purification technology works to eliminate the smell without chemicals, leaving behind fresh, clean air. No need to lug around a large unit from room to room— each Vita comes with 3 rechargeable purifying sticks that easily move from room to room where you need them most.

Traditional Fireplace with a Twist

Purion is an ion air purifier designed as an integration into a traditional Agungi – or Korean fireplace made of natural stone and soil. While heating, the main device purifies and sterilizes air in the room while portable stick ionizers are charged wirelessly in the Agungi’s opening. Each can then be carried to other spaces in the home where they emit negative ions.

Getting It Fresh and Pure

The Aro is a very well designed air purifier that focuses on the user experience and innovation. It features mood lights and aroma dispensing based on the moods of the people in the room. To do this, it integrates a voice recognition system that senses the mood and tone of the voice and makes adjustments accordingly. Sweet!

The Original Air

The Original Breath is a window based air purifier that brings in purified air into your room and employs a very unique way of doing this. It features a system where the external part consists of a solar panel (to power a mini suction fan), an outer glass and plants. So basically what happens is that the air enters the room only after passing through this sealed ventilation box. Regular air is sucked in with the help of the fan and the plants do their thing by absorbing the carbon dioxide and expelling oxygen. The air that is filtered into the room is much cleaner and fresher than before. Clever!

Original Breath is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

Non-aromatic Cooking?

I like the idea that Hong Ying Guo is exploring with the Purifi Pan. The concept is simple; eliminating annoying cooking fumes right at the source and converting it to a refreshing gust of air. The approach is to add an electronic purifying element straight on the pan’s rim and doing away with conventional hoods. Hopefully its detachable, to enable easy cleaning and as we can see it is suitable for different sized utensils, with a couple of tweaks and refinements, I think we’ll have a winner in our hands.
