Design Public’s Organization Blog Fest: Bookshelves
Posted in: UncategorizedThe website Design Public is hosting an Organization Blog Fest for a week, and they asked me to be a part of the advice-wielding group for the second year in a row.
Unclutterer’s topic this year is “Clear the Clutter from Your Bookshelves,” and the five tips come from Unclutter Your Life in One Week. The first two tips:
- Give away any books that you don’t plan on reading or referencing again, are in the public domain, and can be found in their entirety online.
- Keep the leather-bound copy of The Scarlet Letter that your grandmother gave you on her deathbed.

Weight To Go Luggage Scale
Posted in: UncategorizedCombining two useful travel accessories, a luggage tag with a hand-held digital scale, Weigh To Go is a no-brainer gadget for jetsetters. The compact device works by simply pushing the power button and lifting the suitcase off the floor for about five seconds. A steel carabiner lock keeps the scale in place and safely secures it to the luggage.
Developed by online community Quirky, the design is a sleeker improvement on other digital hand-helds, and reflects the ever expanding and complex needs of the modern traveler. Pre-order the battery-operated Weight To Go from the Quirky site for $33.

Graphic design? No sweat
Posted in: UncategorizedMeet John White (above). As a busy graphic designer, nothing makes him happier than solving his clients’ problems. Unfortunately, John’s busy schedule of giving Powerpoint presentations and waving a briefcase (briefcase?) in the air at street corners to hail passing cabs can turn him from a stylish designer of graphics into a sweaty beast-man. Hey, it can happen to the best of us. But, sweat ye no longer, practioners of graphic design: John’s solved his own (and your) embarrassing sweat problem and has very kindly begun broadcasting the happy news all over TV – in the form of a new advert for Sure deodorant. Hooray!
The Find Loves Bucklette, Perfect For Carrying The Essentials!
Posted in: UncategorizedI have to admit, I do get tired of carrying a purse around all the time, and in recent years I’ve gotten into the whole “less is more” thing. Sometimes, especially if you’re out shopping, all you really need is a credit card and some lipstick, and a purse is just going to be one more bag you’ll have to lug around all day. I got one of these Bucklette belt buckles for Christmas, and basically I don’t go anywhere without it anymore. It looks stylish and compact, but it has little compartments inside to hold all your essentials. You can fit a couple of cards in there, a couple of keys, and a lipstick or small lip gloss. If you’re going out clubbing, or anywhere where having a purse would be a hassle, Bucklette is a fantastic way to keep track of your things and look good at the same time! Brought to you by our friends at The Find. |
