Back in June Complex announced the Foothills collaboration between éS and our friends at famed footwear site Crooked Tongues. After years of planning and development, the pack which includes a skate shoe, hat, backpack and jacket finally goes on sale today at the Crooked Tongues store.
The shoes come in three distinct colorways (grey/pink, black/purple, tan/brown), Crooked Tongues scoured éS’s archives to brew up an original look. A skate sneaker influenced by trail/hike themes, the Foothills also features many modern tech elements of sneaker design. Of particular interest, the slightly asymmetrical lacing system rooted in the instep wrap tongue decreases seams and chafing while increasing comfort.
Other elements of the pack are just as well-executed, including the three-layer jacket which features taped seams, waterproof zippers and a clean, functional look. All items in the pack feature the same zig-zag thread details used on the shoe tying the whole kit together nicely.
Back in July we dropped in on Crooked Tongues office to see how the project was coming along and talk a bit of shop. Charlie Morgan introduced me to some of the team and enlightened me with some of the history of their business. The whole team was super welcoming and, as you can see, they have plenty going on in the office (some of which has yet to drop so have a close look).
