Workspace of the Week: Serene home office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Zach’s setup:

This office instantly caught my attention because the majority of the external peripherals are identical to the ones I have. After looking at it for a minute, I realized that it does a nice job of keeping clutter at bay. The cable control is solid, the rolling file cart holds necessary supplies so they don’t take up space on the desk surface, and the arrangement of the artwork is even calming. I strongly suggest you go to see the original image in the Flickr pool because the notes on it are extensive. Thank you, Zach, for your terrific submission to our pool.

Workspace of the Week: Inherited desk

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Agaetis’ home recording studio:

I really enjoyed the description that went with Agetis’ office images:

This is my little home studio. I do mostly audio but have dabbled a bit with video. The desk is actually my great uncles who was an author, even had a few movies made out of his books. The desk originally came from England and has since made it into my hands. Last year I sanded and refinished the entire desk and also wired underneath it to provide power and also some cable management.

The little white thing attached to the front right of the desk is a Belkin remote switch which allows me to turn on and off everything but the wireless printer, wireless router and the Mac Pro. This allows for some great energy conservation.

I also really like how speaker stands are used instead of having the speakers sit directly on the desk. The cable management Agetis installed is fantastic, and the cables running down the back of the left leg closest to the wall is a very nice feature. Don’t miss the desk top photograph in the set for another view of the space.

Thank you, Agetis, for sharing your beautiful studio with our Flickr pool.

Workspace of the Week: Creative corner office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Eduardo’s home office:

Most of us think of big wig executives in tall corporate buildings when we read the phrase “corner office,” but this week’s selection has a different take on the term. Eduardo utilizes a corner of a small space to get maximum workspace out of his desk. Even the shelves above the desk take advantage of the corner. I really like the printer being up off the desk on the shelf, and the cable running down the behind the shelf. Thank you, Eduardo, for sharing your inspiring setup with us.

Workspace of the Week: Simply small

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Declan’s floor-lit fun office:

Declan has a small office wedged into his tiny bedroom, yet he has found a way to make it meet his needs and have it be a good place to be. He has added floor lights throughout the room to add depth to the space. Check out some of the other examples to see how the lights change colors, too. The cable control is beautiful, the minimalist look helps the room feel larger, and the absence of clutter makes living in such a small space manageable. Thank you, Declan, for your submission to our Flickr group. You’ve created a terrific room.

Workspace of the Week: Creative desktop storage solutions

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Ron Ron’s ingenious workspace:

When I came upon Ron Ron’s office, I knew I had to feature it the same week we had a banana-themed unitasker. If you look at his headphones, you’ll see that they’re stored on a Banana Hanger. Genius! The banana hanger does a marvelous job at keeping the headphones from cluttering up the desk. Additionally, I really like the Arc Stand doc for the laptop and how it frees up even more desk space. The shelving unit above the desk is from Ikea and can be adjusted with whatever kind of shelving you might need, which is also a convenient addition to this workspace. Thank you, Ron Ron, for your wonderful submission to our Flickr group.

Workspace of the Week: For all to see

This week’s Workspace of the Week is JeffreyAbbott’s open cubicle:

Working in a cubicle presents a number of challenges, especially when it comes to clutter control and organization. An open cubicle, like today’s selection, magnifies these challenges. Everything must be contained, and the work surface kept as clean as possible even when in the middle of an assignment. Today’s selection does an excellent job at keeping things in great condition. The light is nice because it has an electrical plug on it so you don’t have to crawl under the desk if you want to plus something in to charge. The shelf is nice because it provides an additional level of storage. Overall, this is a terrific setup for an open cubicle. Thank you, JeffreyAbbott, for sharing your workspace with us.

Workspace of the Week: Built-in beauty

This week’s Workspace of the Week is JWhelan’s custom-fitted home office:

The ample storage supply in this office is breathtaking. The glass on the cabinet doors lets objects be seen, but without having to dust. The monitors mounted directly to the wall is a wonderful idea for freeing up the worksurface.

More details from JWhelan’s photo description:

My home office in my new house. It features a hidden desktop PC (left hand cabinet, along with HP printer) with wall-mounted dual 22″ widescreen monitors with custom in-wall wiring, under-cabinet lighting over the monitors and desk and plenty of shelves for my growing collection of books. The recliner in the corner admittedly doesn’t match the color decor – I am awaiting a slipcover to bring it more in-line with the color scheme.

A wonderfully designed and clutter-free space. Thank you, JWhelan, for sharing it with our Flickr us.

Workspace of the Week: Transparent office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Louish’s glass and not-glass office:

Okay, okay, I’ll admit — I chose this office strictly because of the monitor background images. I think they’re amazing! What surprises me most is how they disguise the monitors. If you have a workspace in your bedroom or another area of your home where a computer might not always be welcome, creating a wallpaper like this can help to hide it. It’s as if you’re looking through the computer. Thanks, Louish, for submitting your creative workspace to our Flickr pool.

Workspace of the Week: White workspace and gaming area

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Arunan Sritharan’s desk:

Sometimes all-white workspaces we have can seem cold and sterile. The consistent use of a strong accent color in this office adds some much needed warmth to the mix.

Thank you, Arunan, for submitting your office to our workspace Flickr pool.

Workspace of the Week: Out-of-sight, out-of-mind

This week’s Workspace of the Week is TinaFB’s bedroom office:

For the second week in a row, I wanted to highlight how someone has solved the space constraint of needing to put a desk in their bedroom/office/living space. The reason I like this desk so much is because it closes up and goes away when TinaFB wishes to relax. She doesn’t have to stare at responsibilities and bills, she can simply make them disappear. I also like that she took the time to personalize the furniture (it’s a piece from Ikea) with red paint on the back panel and chalkboard paint on the inside of the doors. The chalkboard paint can be very useful for posting important reminders, without having to have an actual chalkboard hanging in the room. Thank you, TinaFB, for submitting your office to our workspace Flickr pool.
