Tell Time With Oversized Watches!

imageEvery year, “oversized” gets its 15 minutes of fashion fame. First there was big, over-sized, over-teased hair. We have seen over-sized pants and for both men and women, as well as over-sized outerwear and over-sized jewelry. More recently, we have seen over-sized sunglasses that make women look like one of their parents may have been a fly, as well as over-sized totes and handbags that could double as a studio apartment. The next must-have, over-sized accessory is definitely the watch. Huge watches are popping up everywhere from the dainty wrists of society’s finest to edgy hipsters. The styles vary from simple and streamlined to adorned and flashy and everything in between. They are a great substitute for a bracelet or piece of statement jewelry and you can have multiple styles to go with multiple outfits! This is a great look for both men and women and would make a great gift as a matching set. Watches are a “must” part of an interview outfit and now you are able to show that your are responsible, reliable and fashionable! Have it be one of many eye-catching components to an ensemble, or punch up a classic look with this extreme accessory. Check out the slideshow for some favorite over-sized watch designs and find one that you’d like to spend time with!

Influential International Style: Michelle Obama

imageEver since she hit the campaign trail in her classic cardigans, and sassy jewel tones, yes, with her guns blazing, we knew Michelle Obama was a First Lady we could believe in. Besides being one of the most highly-educated women to ever hold the number two spot at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, she is an accomplished lawyer raised with real South Side Irish roots. Moreover, she has a gorgeous sense of style. Flattering sheath dresses, fun accessories, and a mixing of designer clothing with more common retail brands are the caveats of her first few months in office. Whether it’s for a date night with the Commander in Chief or to tend her garden, Mrs. Obama always brings grace and elegance to any occasion. Check out my slideshow for ways to bring hope to your closet!

Megan Fox, Kendra Wilkinson, And Aubrey O’Day: Since When Does Bedding Pass As Clothing?

imageEven if you have no interest in “Transformers” (or Shia LaBeouf, for that matter), the general premise is a no-brainer: cars turn into giant destructive robots… and chaos ensues. But did you know that common household linens also transform into dresses? I didn’t either, but apparently at the summer blockbuster’s Los Angeles premiere, Hollywood starlets were convinced that sheets and curtains could suitably convert into red carpet ensembles. While I’m sure “Grecian goddess” is what she was going for, Megan Fox didn’t exactly live up to her “sexiest woman in the world” rep in her white sack robe. Similarly, Aubrey O’Day looked uncharacteristically covered up and almost classy… but did she have to resort to wearing a pillowcase? And we know it can be tough to pick out clothes when you’re preggers, but wearing a curtain is never the answer, Kendra Wilkinson! It’s a common expression to say that some of the world’s A-list actresses are so beautiful they could make even a paper bag look good, but apparently that sentiment doesn’t quite carry over to drapery. Vote below on who you think looks the sloppiest in their sheet-like sheath. Photo Credit: PR Photos

Michael Jackson: “The Way You Make Me Feel”

imageYesterday’s news that Michael Jackson had passed away was a shock to not just the music world, but the world as a whole. Though headlines in recent years painted the entertainer as bizarre and reclusive, fans of the King of Pop will remember him as a superstar whose unparalleled talent and dedication to charity made him a living legend and an icon of our generation. Ask anyone which Michael Jackson hit is their favorite and you’d be hard pressed not to find someone who doesn’t list at least five. His dancing was infectious, and his music videos were unforgettable– in all of his uniqueness, he managed to unite us all. Let’s go back to “The Way You Make Me Feel” from 1987’s “BAD”– who could forget the skintight black dress, the big hair, and the high heels? And of course, those moves. He will truly be missed, but his influence will remain forever.

Tip Your Hat Towards Summer Style!

imageThis is really the era of self-expression and as long as it looks good and you have the attitude to rock it, anything goes! Skinny jeans and wide-leg trousers are both in style; tops with super long hems as well as cropped cardigans have both become fashion staples, and any bright color, funky pattern and unique silhouette is welcome! The same goes for accessories and this summer, really top off your look with a hat! Usually reserved for slightly cooler weather say, in the winter and fall, hats are really making a statement this summer. From floppy, wide-brim straw hats reminiscent of the Kentucky Derby to classic, sharp fedoras that add edgy attitude to a flirty dress, the wide array of coif-topping styles make it fun and easy to find a shape that works for you! So give your daily SPF moisturizer a little help and invest in a great summer hat to stay cool and stylish all season! I’d say “hats off” to great style, but you’ll be wanting to keep them on in this case! Check out the slideshow for a variety of styles and prices to fit your look and budget.

Nightime Basics According to WhatsWear!

imageOn summer nights, almost anything goes. Shorts, slinky dresses, sequin t-shirts… anything. Whether you’re hanging with the beachy Hamptons crowd or sucking up the humidity in New York City, all women should have the following go-to pieces to be prepared for wherever the summer night will lead them. The Day-to-Night Skirt: Every social butterfly needs a quick-change item. The kind of functional skirt that can dressed down for daytime activities and instantly dressed up with a pair of heels. Perfect for those who need to literally run out their door. Dressy Shorts: While most guys are forbidden to wear shorts at night, no bouncer will say anything if a girl dons a pair. Black shorts are the perfect summer staple to pair with any of your favorite summer tops. Sequined Tee: Anything with a hint of sparkle or sequin is sure to be a perfect nighttime staple. No jewelry needed. Sexy LBD: Ok, every season needs a sexy LBD, and this is our justification to buy another one just for summer. These are just a few great and versatile summer night staples! Get Distressed And Ripped Denim For Summer

imageIt seems like only yesterday that we were all wearing flannel and ripped denim (remember the grunge scene of the early 90s?). I used to go down those rough cement slides in the park to get the perfect distressed look. Those days are long gone, but ripped denim is no one hit wonder! We’ve seen celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and Victoria Beckham wear their ripped jeans in style. From super short shorts to flirty skirts and jeans in different cuts, there’s a ripped style just for you. You can get a super destroyed jean with big holes and tears like this bleached pair from Oak. If you’re like me and like a more subtle look, pay attention to pieces with distressed edges and smaller rips and tears. After all, those little rips can always be made into bigger ones. Check out my slideshow for more ripped denim, from less than $15 to $200, that you’ll want to rock all summer long.

TheFind Says Hot Pink Is The New Black!

imageThink PINK this summer as we transition into fall. The ’80s influence continues and we are loving the sizzling hot hues, especially neon hot pink. The stark contrast of neon pink with black looks fresh, fun, and girlie for clothing and accessories. Pair a hot pink shell blouse with an oversized black boyfriend blazer and skinny jeans, or go from head to toe in a hot pink asymmetric dress. There are also loads of bright pink accessories such as this cheeky Alexander McQueen clutch, neon pink belt, or pink thong sandals if you’re looking for just a dash of neon color. Check out more summer-to-fall trends at our friends at TheFind!
