Miss Bibi Jewelry Let’s You Wear Your Life in Miniature!

imageInspired by the world of childhood and nostalgia, Miss Bibi (Brigitte Giraudi) creates mini-sized household items and turns them into whimsical jewelry pieces. With a background in 3D Illustration and Stop Frame Animation, Miss Bibi started working by making models of miniature sets for animation movies. Then one day, her love of all things mini translated into the work of jewelry creations and so was born the first collection of miniaturized objects to wear! Made from silver and sometimes plated in gold, her first collection draws from not only household objects, but also from that famous detective game we all grew up with: Clue! Inspiration turned out mini chandeliers, knives, guns, and other less murderous household items. If you’re feeling a little more dollhouse and less murder mystery, pick from an array of more gentle offerings like mini chairs, hearts, and high-heeled shoes. Check out the slideshow for some amazing tiny styles! See more and buy online at Missbibi.com, because really… who can resist anything made in miniature?

The Frisky Asks: How Much Do We Love This i-D Cover?

imageA few months ago both Chanel Iman and Sessilee Lopez tweeted about a “major” moment in fashion and a surprise cover. That should have been clue enough for some folks to guess. Now the secret is out: the two young models, along with Jourdan Dunn and Arlenis Sosa, grace the cover of i.D magazine’s September issue. The iconic photo features all four girls with corset-inspired tops, figure-hugging skirts, matching black gloves and shimmery makeup. It was shot in London by Emma Summerton and styled by i-D fashion director Edward Enninful. Besides featuring four of the hottest models of the moment in one sitting, this issue is distinctive for yet another reason: It is the only non-urban magazine to opt for women of color on its September cover. Leighton Meester Wears Gold And Diamond Bat Necklace By Brazilian Designer Jack Vartanian

imageThis wouldn’t be the first time we’ve done a “Leighton Meester Wears..” post here on Stylehive, and so it’s safe to say she’s staying stylish enough for herself and alter ego Blair between seasons (speaking of which, is it September 14th yet?). The actress was spotted strolling in NYC wearing the “Bat Necklace” from Brazilian designer Jack Vartanian. Crafted from 18k rose gold and complete with tiny diamond eyes, it’s stunning and a bit spooky all at once. You can find the necklace along with the entire Jack Vartanian STUD collection at Barneys New York. In case you’re wondering, Leighton’s also wearing Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony wedge boots and Nina Ricci’s “Ondine” handbag. Tell us what you think of her look in comments!

Brogues And Oxfords Get Flirty And Feminine!

imageTaking items that are typically associated with menswear and making them feminine is no novel idea when it comes to modern day fashion. We’ve seen it in every context from sexy tailored suits on the red carpet to boyfriend blazers on your average night out on the town. However, the latest trend in menswear-gone-girlie is here to serve as a welcome addition to your shoe collection, just in time for fall. Brogues and oxfords, though traditionally men’s dress shoes, have certainly been worn by the ladies before… just not nearly as fashionably or with the same feminine edge as the latest styles provide! Studs, cut-outs, and bright colors vamp up the normally conservative-looking shoe, making them far more chic than what you’d stereotypically find worn by a butler. True, the whole idea of open toes and modern embellishments sort of negates the very definition of a brogue, but hey — with modifications this cute, we won’t toss them based on a silly technicality! Check the slideshow for some of my favorite oxford-inspired pairs!

Show Some Skin The Sophisticated Way With A (Semi) Backless Top

imageIf you’ve got it, flaunt it, right? Not if you’re going to work or school. Or if it’s too cold out. Or if flaunting it for the world to see just isn’t your thing. So then what? If you don’t want to don micro-minis and plunging halter necks, does that mean you’re left with super-conservative, matronly garments? Far from it! The woman’s back is an alluring area that up until recently was overshadowed by the more outwardly seductive legs, decolletage and derriere. However, as we get more mature, so do our everyday tasks and personal style. I’m still a sucker for a hot mini-skirt, but looking fly is no longer my only concern. A great way to cover all grounds is to uncover your back! Backless tops and dresses are a perfectly elegant and sophisticated way to show off your toned back and effeminate side while still staying appropriate for various occasions! Another bonus? The backless look makes your frame seem leaner and thinner! Check out the slideshow for some sexy, backless favorites!

Sheer Story: Dresses That Bare Just Enough!

imageI popped over to the Karen Millen boutique last week to check out some dresses and fell in love with this Karen Millen ruched silk dress ($299). This fall, it’s about going bare without having to really go bare — find a dress with a sheer top or sleeves to give just a hint of what’s under. For more slightly sheer looks, try Elizabeth and James’ gauze t-shirt dress– it’s a sophisticated spin on a casual classic. Alice + Olivia’s embellished dress is just that, with sheer panels, lace, and rhinestones adding to the mix. Click over to Coquette for more sheer dresses and other fashion and shopping finds.

Tried & Tested: The Best Cotton Tee On The Market

imageJeans always get front and center when it comes to icons of American style. But everyone knows the silent star is really the T-shirt. Where would James Dean, Marlon Brando, or Michael Jackson have been without the super simple, super sexy white t-shirt? There are several elements that elevate the standard tee: color, graphics, fit and, most importantly, fabric. The latter is what makes Market tees so amazing. The recently debuted line believes in simplicity. So they limit their collection to a variety of plain, cotton t-shirts that still manage to be infinitely comfortable and sexy. Drew Barrymore, Blake Lively and Lindsay Lohan have all been snapped while wearing them. What drives them to the brand is what will make you fall in love, too: buttery fabrics, rainbow colors, and the perfect fit. We got to test-run these tees and got more compliments than we can count. They’re perfect paired with jeans and sneakers or a chic mini-skirt and heels– and the prices are equally attractive at $24 to $35. Click over to our friends at The Frisky to check out Market’s latest styles and colors and find out where to buy them online!
