Fall Accessories Bring Silver And Gold Together At Last!

imageWhoever told you that silver and gold were clashing colors and therefore should never mingle within the same ensemble was seriously ill-advised! Though slightly unexpected, pairing silver and gold — especially in the same piece — is a bold and stunning combo, and it’s popping up all over jewelry and accessories trends for the upcoming fall season! Mix things up with a chunky braided chain necklace, or tie your outfit together with a multicolored stud belt, among a variety of other chic options. While I certainly don’t encourage you to simply pile on all the jewelry you own or accessorize without a second thought at color-coordination, just be aware that the two metals don’t repel each other like opposite ends of a magnet, and can look great layered and mixed-and-matched. Take a look at the slideshow for some of the hottest multi-metal accessories!

Coquette Will Attend Fashion’s Night Out At Coach!

imageI’m really excited that I’ll be a special guest of Coach attending their Fashion’s Night Out event on Thursday, September 10th at the Coach Flagship store at 595 Madison Avenue. Coach is hosting a one-of-a-kind fete that will feature famed graffiti artist Pesu and whimsical, Brooklyn-based illustrator Kiersten Essenpreis, creating completely customized and off-the-cuff creations! Both artists will be using Coach’s limited edition Fashion’s Night Out tote as their canvas and will be in store from 7pm until 10pm, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served. I can’t wait to see these artists work their magic on the totes! Don’t forget to check back at Coquette for my report of the evening!

Dress By Number: Kim Kardashian’s Zebra Stripes For Less!

imageAt the Three-O Vodka Bubble Launch event back in July, Kim Kardashian rocked a zebra print dress which she paired with a white blazer, Giuseppe Zanotti Cut-Out Leather Boots, and, for that all-important pop of color, a Juliette Jake Crocodile Wrap and Wrap Clutch in Turquoise. I love how this girl dresses — always fashion forward with an emphasis on her amazing figure. And since you may not have your own reality show to help finance your designer duds, here’s how to get an almost-identical look for much less!

1. Charlotte Russe Bandage Stiletto Boots
2. Lulu Townsend Oversized Clutch
3. Aqua Relaxed Two-Button Blazer
4. Express Short Halter Dress

Chic For Cheap: 20 Rockstar Looks for Under $20!

imageFlipping through magazines like Vogue, W, or Harper’s Bazaar always seems to leave me wanting. They always showcase lust-inducing fashion and accessories that I wish, wish, wish were in my own closets and drawers. I flip through a few pages of a featured photoshoot and inevitably spot something (or many things) that I don’t think I could possibly live without! I eagerly focus my attention on the fine print in the corner that tells you the item, where it can be found, and the price. The price kills me every time. Half a years rent for that soft, Italian leather satchel? I’m sure it’s smooth as butter, but I can’t sleep in it. Are those killer stilettos worth going without electricity and water for a few months? Almost, but not quite. I haven’t gone that insane yet! But that little bit of logic is not enough for me to just let it go and forget about it. Lately, all the magazines have been showing rocker-inspired clothing and accessories that I’m sure I could pull off if only I had the funds. Chains, metallic hardware, black and white contrasting details, filigree designs – all beautiful and all outside my budget. But I will not be disheartened! The budget fashionista loves and appreciates high-end designers, but knows that an endless supply of money doesn’t equal a great fashion sense and a limited budget doesn’t mean you have to only have second-rate, un-trendy ensembles. Check out the slideshow to see how to incorporate the rocker-glam look into your closet without having to break open the piggy bank!

Rock A Body-Con Herve Leger Dress Like Amanda Bynes

imageAt this year’s Teen Choice Awards, the always adorable Amanda Bynes kept it fuss-free and fabulous. Amanda is a huge fan of Herve Leger and rocked a citrus yellow bandage dress from the label at the event. She gave the look her own unique spin by pairing it with a pair of electric purple Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps and a gold python clutch from Gerard Darel. Never one to pile on the accessories, Amanda kept it simple with two muted rings. Adding to the playful look were her Barbie pink nails (neon nail shades are all the rage right now). Whether you want to splurge on a bandage style from Herve Leger or find a more affordable substitute, this silhouette always screams sexy and grants you the freedom to accessorize in a way that suits your personal style. Pump Up The Stam With V Magazine’s Eighties-Inspired Editorial

imageJessica Stam stars in an awesomely eighties-inspired spread in this month’s V Magazine, on newsstands tomorrow. The editorial showcases Stam working out in some of fall’s hottest looks, with an equally hot trainer, because everyone knows you should never stretch in a Balmain jumpsuit alone. You could pull a thread, or possibly a muscle. Other exercise ensembles include a Marc Jacobs sweater and boots, Adidas by Stella McCartney leggings layered with Chanel leg warmers, and a pair of seriously fierce Louis Vuitton over-the-knee boots that will scare off anyone who may be inclined to steal your spot on the elliptical machine. We’re not sure whether we’re more motivated to shop or sweat after a peek at the photoshoot, but we’ll be getting in our cardio somehow, that’s for sure. See the slideshow for a preview of the spread, and be sure to pick up this month’s issue of V magazine tomorrow!

Christina Milian Adds A Splash Of Color To Her Alexa Chung Ensemble

imageWe’re big fans of wearing black. We’re also big fans of wearing white. But do you ever feel a little boring fashion-wise when you’re so monochromatic? Even when you mix the two, you’re not showing much personality. Christina Milian has the perfect solution to that. When we saw the songstress as she was on her way to “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” we loved her look! Christina was wearing a black leather jacket with a white tee and black pants. Sounds pretty typical and not very exciting, right? Well, what we really loved about the outfit was that she topped it all off with some bright red, shiny pumps. She took an otherwise simple and kind of boring outfit and totally made it pop with excitement. This makes us really want to start buying lots of pretty colored shoes. That way we can keep wearing our black and white outfits, but still feel totally trendy and fun. Head over to LimeLife for more style inspiration from the stars!

The Devil Has a Sense of Humor

imageLeave it to David Letterman to get Anna Wintour, the elusive editor in chief of Vogue, not only to appear on national television without her trademark sunglasses but also debut a trait no one thought she had: a sense of humor! While on the late-night show to promote her documentary “The September Issue,” Anna confessed to Dave that she’s aware of what the press says about her (including that she looks like an alien that escaped from District 9) and thinks that “The Devil Wears Prada” was pure fiction.
