Shoe of the Week – See by Chloe Printed Rain Boots

imageOnce upon a time, we dreaded the days our mothers would make us wear weather appropriate clothing. Rain boots, rain coats and mittens, they were the worst! Chalk it up to maturity or perhaps, more realistically, the plethora of adorable weather-proof clothing that has been showing up in stores the past couple fall seasons, but nowadays, we are singing quite the different tune.

The adorable rain boots from the likes of Hunter, Marc Jacobs and Tretorn practically have us doing rain dances for the chance to splash in some puddles and show off our rainy day duds.

This season, however, the standout pair has to be from See by Chloe. Their tall rain boot breaks the mold with lace-up detailing, a mock side flap pocket and adorable star printed lining. These See by Chloe boots are so cute and stylish, we are considering donning them out and about even when the sun is shining.

Label Love – Calvin Klein RTW 2011

imageThe master of minimalist chic, American designer, Calvin Klein continues to impress with his sleek and simple, but fashion-forward and flattering designs. For one that has built an empire on a look that is clean and completely uncluttered, it is truly amazing that this many years later, each of his collections still brings something new to the table, or runway, if you will.

His recent Ready-to-Wear 2011 show was no exception. While a minimalistic approach often takes on a Zen-like, Asian-inspired flair, Klein kept the correlation fresh and different. A streamlined palette of black and white featured billowing fabrics for wide, slouchy pant legs and loosely draped dresses. Looks included menswear inspired slacks, tunic tops and over-sized blazers balanced, out with plunging necklines and draped, floaty layering pieces. Dolman sleeves and shiny silks, as well as bias cuts and simple sheath dresses in varying pops of bright solids further enhanced the fluid and feminine feel.

An expert mix of lady-like menswear inspired looks and classically wearable, but still fashion forward pieces paraded down the runway at Calvin Klein’s RTW 2011 runway show. Click the slideshow to see some favorites!

Daily Obsesh – Dome Three-Finger Ring

imageA girl will always find a reason to shop! It’s guilt-free shopping that sometimes proves to be the challenge. How many tubes of lip gloss can one girl possibly possess or need? We here at Stylehive think the Dome Three-Finger Ring is definitely one of those little treasures.

A real recession-chic piece at just $18, this isn’t just a ring €¦ it’s a ring for three of your fingers. Stylelist Shows Us – How To Wear The Wet Hair Trend!

imageThis season, you may need to update your wardrobe but you won’t have to cut or color your hair to recreate one of fall’s hottest hair trends — wet hair.

Slick hairstyles ruled the Fall 2010 runways of Carolina Herrera, Alexander Wang, and Rodarte. And brunette beauties like Sandra Bullock, Megan Fox, and Lea Michele have all turned heads on the red carpet with glossily-gelled locks.

‘It’s a popular trend this fall because of the way it perfectly complements the colors and cuts that we see,’ says Tippi Shorter, celebrity hairstylist and Avon global stylist adviser. ‘It’s really shiny, sleek and sophisticated. The best thing about this new trend is it enhances what you already have.’

Daily Obsesh – Multiwear Knit Bow Tie

imageWe can’t help but love an piece of clothing or accessory that has more than one way to wear it, even as kids we were drawn to clothing that could be worn either side out, or had interchangeable shoe laces, or could change colors when exposed to heat. Today, we still love a product that can be worn different ways. Call it more bang for your buck or call it an easy way to mix things up in your closet, either way, it’s great. And if said product can change the entire style of an outfit? Even better.

Take the Fred Flare Knit Bow Tie, this cute knit bow comes in blue, black and red, is attached to a matching knit band and finished with an elastic cord for stretch. Wear it as a bracelet or headband for ultra-girly styling, or as a bow tie with a button-up blouse for a stolen-from-the-boys look. The looks couldn’t be more opposite, and this great accessory makes either one a cinch. Speaking of a cinch? Why not adjust the elastic and get yourself a brand new knit bow belt? It would look just as cute around the crown of a hat, or as a special occasion collar for your favorite canine or feline friend. The possibilities really are endless, which is why we are smitten with this amazing Knit Bow Tie.

Who’s The Most Stylin’ Behind-the-Scenes Celeb?

imageWith new episodes of our favorite TV shows, as well as filming for up-and-coming movies being shot, it’s no wonder we were able to catch so many celebs behind-the-scenes and in some seriously stylish duds.

Gossip Girl is known for their amazing wardrobe and we’ve got Blake Lively and Leighton Meester in a Serena vs. Blair style show down. Blake kept it a little more casual in a striped blazer with piping details, knit tights under short shorts and on-trend blue suede menswear inspired oxfords. An men’s tie and an oversized suede tote completed the look.
Leightons’ look was more girly with floral lace tights under a classic black and white plaid coat and matching heels, topped off with a beret. Additional accessories include a small snack and a book of crosswords!

Then there’s the ever tasteful Katie Holmes who kept it clean and simple in a classic red sheath dress with a roll collar. Her behind-the-scenes footwear preference? A comfy pair of moccasins for padding around between takes! A small dove grey clutch purse and a new i-Pad finished her look.

Which celeb had the best behind-the-scenes style? Let us know by voting below!

And check back next week for when we show you how to get the winning look!

Everyday OTKs!

imageFirst of all … what exactly is OTK, you may ask. OTK is just a short acronym for the trendy boot style that’s here to stay. Over-the-Knee boots are flattering because they elongate the leg while keeping you warm and covered for these chilly days ahead.

For many of us, we may already be aware of this hot boot trend, but thigh-high, stiletto versions may be just a little too impractical and dangerous to go running around in during the day. Plus, while these sexy shoes may be perfect for a night out with the girls, they’re too risque for everyday errands and activities.

But we love this boot trend too much to not find a way to wear it to work, to school and anywhere else that strikes our fancy! Opt for a version that is flat or wedged for more standing support, and look for looser fits of leather and suede to give your look a casual, edgy vibe. Equally cute over leggings or paired with a pretty dress, you’ll find yourself loving your OTKs everyday!
