Video Style Steal: Leighton Meester Shows Us How “Good Girls Go Bad” In Style

imageGossip Girl Leighton Meester is used to being a fashion icon by now. While it may have been a bit unexpected to find her break into singing with her featured spot in Cobra Starship’s single “Good Girls Go Bad,” it certainly came as no surprise to see that she added some seriously fashionable fierceness to the video. And while the covetable wardrobe she dons as she sneaks into the deli-turned-“speakeasy” setting may not be the only reason the video is nominated for a VMA for Best Pop Video, it definitely helps amp it up, no doubt! And the best thing about her style? It’s easy to make it your own without breaking the bank! With a hot cropped blazer and dramatic smoky eyes, you won’t be nearly as incognito as Leighton is in the video, but you’ll definitely have a stylish night out! Give A Black Jumper A Fashion-Forward Twist Like MIchelle Trachtenberg

imageAt the GUESS Flagship Boutique opening in New York City, actress Michelle Trachtenberg was totally on-trend and cutting-edge. Michelle updated a basic black cowl neck jumpsuit by adding a pop of color with an oversized hot pink Giuseppe Zanotti clutch and matching hot pink nails. She wasn’t afraid to push it a bit further by adding more electricity to the look with some standout jewelry pieces including a sparkly cocktail ring, statement bracelet, and black hoop earrings. To add some length to her legs, she opted for simple black peep-toe pumps. A black jumpsuit is a super versatile, easy-to-wear item that can be dressed up or toned down to suit any occasion. Glam it up like Michelle with eye-catching accessories, or tone it down by pairing it with sandals and a few muted pieces. Check out my slideshow to replicate this look!

Video Style Steal: Pink Goes Moto-Girlie In “Funhouse”

imageWhile Pink herself is right in the middle of her worldwide tour for her fifth studio album, Funhouse, her singles and in-your-face videos haven’t taken a break from their chart-topping around the rest of the globe. Her latest vid for the album’s title track is characteristically “Pink” in its rebellious tomboy vibes (after all, I don’t know many girlie-girls who would dare frolic through a burning junkyard, much less while dressed head-to-toe in white), yet her wardrobe is surprisingly flirty at the same time. Then again, who else would you expect to find the perfect balance between feminine lace and badass biker chick? I may never understand her love-hate relationship with husband Corey Hart, and I’ll be less likely to ever have the guts to be as bold as she is, but I can at least take a page or two from her book of style! With white distressed jeans and black belted boots, you can cop her outfit pretty easily — I just don’t recommend committing arson while you’re wearing it. Get Nicky Hilton’s Funky-Chic Look

imageHeiress/fashion designer Nicky Hilton has a knack for effortlessly polished style and she consistently manages to put together looks that balance sharp sophistication with a playful and fashion-forward sensibility. At the launch party for the new OP campaign “OPen Campus” in Hollywood, Nicky kept it clean and chic, teaming a super funky Charlay 5.0 tie-dye skirt with a simple white tank and structured navy blue blazer. She accessorized with a pair of summery yet glamorous white patent peep-toe pumps, a few statement-bracelets, stacked rings, and a timeless Chanel quilted chain strap bag. The contrast between the tie-dyed skirt and sharp blazer was an unlikely pairing that worked flawlessly for a fabulous summer style that can easily go from work time to playtime. Video Style Steal: Britney’s Equestrian-Style Looks Are On Our Fashion “Radar”

imageI don’t know what it is about Britney Spears that makes me compulsively root for her through thick and thin. I guess a part of me is still in denial, thinking she’s going to bust out onstage with a boa constrictor or silver chair and start magically performing with the energy and enthusiasm of Britney circa 2001. Even without all the flair and fanfare of her high-octane performance past, Britney is still doing pretty well for herself, now out with her new video for “Radar,” the fourth single off her latest album Circus. This time around, Britney leaves the barely-there lingerie get-ups and goes for a sort of equestrian-chic look while swooning over a sexy polo player within the video’s gorgeous Santa Barbara setting. While I’m not sure I fully dig the whole slow-motion horse imagery, her outfits are undoubtedly cute… and the best part? Most of what she’s rockin’ in the vid is made by Candie’s (Brit is the brand’s current spokesperson), so the looks can be found for super-cheap at Kohl’s! Click “See Video” to see the looks in action, then check the slideshow to see how you can pull off your own interpretation with a mix of similar and exact pieces straight from the video!

Get Scarlett Johansson’s Sexy-Sleek Look

imageFor the ceremony announcing her as the new face of Mango, Scarlett Johansson rocked a super sleek style that had a bit of a sexy edge. Scarlett paired a flutter sleeve satin top with a waist cinching black skirt- both from Mango. She completed the look with a funky pair of snakeskin shoes, gold bangles, and a large ring on her index finger. This ensemble perfectly complemented Scarlett’s incredible figure so keeping the accessories to a minimum was definitely a wise move- it would have just been overkill otherwise. This outfit is the perfect day-to-night look and is classy, chic, and subtly sexy. Check out my SLIDESHOW to get the look!

Get Michelle Trachtenberg’s Offbeat-Chic Look

imageAt the New York City premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, actress Michelle Trachtenberg showcased her fun, funky, and slightly edgy personal style. Michelle wasn’t afraid to mix it up, playing with proportions and funky accessories to create this fabulous look. She kept it sleek and sophisticated on tip with a belted blouse from Tucker underneath a TopShop boyfriend blazer, and added a bit of an edge to the look on the bottom with American Apparel spandex pants and funky Giuseppe Zanotti booties. A Kooba chain strap bag, bright green earrings from Rarities by Carol Brodie, and sleek black bangle rounded out the mix for a perfectly put-together offbeat-chic ensemble. Leighton Meester Wears Chris & Jaime Collection In NYC

image“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester was spotted in NYC wearing a slouchy top and rolled shorts from Chris & Jaime Collection. It’s not the most exciting outfit by any means, but it just goes to show that she’s equally adorable whether in character as the impeccably dressed Blair Waldorf or off-duty in a pared-down look. The rolled slouchy shorts ($165) and “Be Square” top ($77) are available at Poppy NYC. The shorts are a cute albeit expensive alternative to the ubiquitous denim cutoffs, but you can still get the Leighton’s look- yes, even if you aren’t actually a successful television starlet. Just be sure to add sleek accessories (Leighton’s are by Chloe and Jimmy Choo) and you’ll avoid looking like you just left the gym. Click the slideshow to see our picks!

Video Style Steal: Beyonce Has “Sweet Dreams” Of Sparkles & Sequins

imageBeyonce, like our friend Tyra Banks, always seems to come up in conversation whenever the word “fierce” is mentioned. This is why it was no surprise to see that her video for “Sweet Dreams,” the latest single from her I Am… Sasha Fierce album, is no less stylishly sassy than the previous vids, and she again comes equipped not only with some seriously diva-esque outfits, but her two hip-shaking backup dancers to boot. This time, however, she amps up the costuming beyond the iced-out bionic hand and leotard-and-heels combo she rocked in “Single Ladies” and channels a similarly monochromatic wardrobe with a little more sparkle and shine. With over-the-knee leather boots, a sequin miniskirt, and a silver lame dress that seems to channel a sexier Jane Jetson (we won’t even get started with the gold metal C-3PO number), B is still milkin’ the futuristic she-robot look for all its worth — and is still looking like a million bucks. Click “See Video” to watch her and her dancer-clones in action, then check the slideshow to see how you can cop her look without looking like quite a cyborg.

imageAt this year’s MTV Movie Awards, Vanessa Hudgens looked absolutely stunning in a beautifully breezy summer-ready ensemble. For Vanessa, it’s always all about the accessories. The actress wore a gorgeous tangerine dress from BCBG Max Azria, adding a unique edge with tribal-inspired beaded Jimmy Choo sandals, a sleek Nancy Gonzalez box clutch, gold bangles, and two necklaces- one short, and a long pendant necklace from H. Stern for Diane Von Furstenberg (a signature piece she is rarely seen without). This look is perfect for your summer soirees and can be dressed up or down to fit any occasion.
