Video Style Steal: Jordin Sparks’ “S.O.S.” Is No Fashion Emergency!

imageOne thing that always seems to instill a little hope within me is seeing American Idol alumni actually making something of their temporary fame. It makes me think, “wow, maybe reality TV really does serve a purpose!” And what’s not to like about a down-to-earth gal from Arizona with a powerhouse voice making awesome music and managing to stay classy while doing it (’cause apparently that’s rare)? Jordin Sparks may only be 19, but she’s already making waves with her second studio album “Battlefield” and even has a few pre-AI modeling credits under her belt. But just because the girl has gospel roots and is most known for ballads like “Tattoo” and “No Air” with Chris Brown, it doesn’t mean she can’t go out and have a little fun. In her latest video, “S.O.S. (Let The Music Play),” Jordin shows off her sexy side… and exposes a backstabbing boyfriend while she’s at it! I recommend leaving the chain acrylic nails out of your outfit (how the heck does she text with those things on?), but you can look dance floor-ready with a shimmering sequin dress and embellished black heels like Jordin’s. Video Style Steal: Miley Cyrus Gives “Party In The U.S.A.” A Cowgirl Kick

imageHannah or Miley? Blonde or brunette? Love her or hate her? Such questions often come to mind when the name Miley Cyrus is mentioned… and nowadays, especially with her new album on the rise, that’s quite often. And whether or not you enjoy the teen’s campy Disney roles, her musical stylings, or her knack for photo scandals, you gotta admit, “Party In The U.S.A.” is pretty damn catchy. While the video’s swing set settings and Miley’s tiny cut-off shorts and leather vest are a little unseasonably summery, I can’t help but get in the concert party mood whenever I watch it… and let’s face it — it’s never the wrong season for a dusty parking lot dance party! Click “See Video” to watch “Party In The U.S.A.” for yourself, then take a look at the slideshow to see how you can cop Miley’s cowgirl video ensemble. Photo Credit: MTV.com

Give An LBD A Fashion-Forward Edge Like Ellen Page

imageAt the L.A. premiere of Whip It, actress Ellen Page looked chic, timeless, and simultaneously cutting-edge. Ellen rocked a long-sleeve Alexander Wang LBD (long sleeve mini-dresses are all the rage this season). She took this basic staple to the next level with a funky pair of Rachel Comey booties, an embellished Jimmy Choo clutch, and layered David Yurman chain necklaces. This look was totally on-point and is fashion-forward but still totally wearable. I love how Ellen toughened up a classic closet staple but still kept the look feminine and sexy. This look is definitely worth replicating for your next night out. Check out my slideshow to do it up just like Ellen!

Influential International Style: Charlotte Casiraghi

imageIf there was one icon I could choose to dress exactly like, Princess Charlotte Casiraghi would be it. The girl has it going on – royal pedigree, killer style, and hey, she’s an editor-in-chief of Above magazine. Her style can be described as classically tailored, yet with a flair for rock and roll details. Whether she’s rocking skinny jeans and boots, and a gorgeous scarf, or making a public appearance in a fabulous black dress with lace detailing, she can make any outfit look spectacular. Having a busy day? Channel Charlotte and pick up your hair in a messy bun, and wrap a scarf like crazy around your neck over a simple t-shirt. Voila! You have a fabulous outfit… and didn’t even have to wash your hair. Check out my slideshow for some style tips from the royal herself! Photo credit: PR Photos

Update A Black Jumpsuit Like Kristen Bell

imageAt the Teen Choice Awards, the adorable Kristen Bell kept it funky, fashion-forward, and just the right touch of sexy with an ensemble that mixed high and low-end buys. Kristen went for one of this season’s must-have pieces, the black jumpsuit, opting for a plunging style from Topshop. She enlivened the look with some standout accessories including a colorful Vera Wang rhinestone necklace, gold and diamond necklaces from Jennifer Meyer jewelry, metallic strappy sandals from Jimmy Choo, and a lime green Bally frame clutch. A black jumpsuit like this one is highly versatile and is the perfect backdrop for an array of fabulous accessories, giving you the freedom to express your personal style. Pair it with heavy chains and a leather cuff for an edgy style, piles of bangles for a more boho look, or with muted accessories for a polished look. Check out my slideshow to rock it like Kristen!

Get Emma Roberts’ Casual, Sophisticated Look

imageAt the New York premiere of Inglorious Basterds, the always on-point Emma Roberts kept is casual-chic with a bit of a fashion-forward flair. Emma kept her look youthful with a pair of skinny jeans paired with a heather gray ruffled top. She dressed up the look with a sharp blazer, black patent pumps, and a simple cocktail ring. While some more accessories would have made this look a bit more fashion-forward, keeping it clean and simple created a more sophisticated and polished effect. A look like this one is definitely sharp enough to work for day and sexy enough to work for night. Keep it simple like Emma or kick it up a notch with an edgy pair of pumps and some standout accessories. Check out my slideshow to get the look!

Go Bold In Electric Blue Like Jessica Stroup

imageAt the Melrose Place launch party in L.A., 90210 star Jessica Stroup was definitely one of the night’s standouts. Jessica wore a gorgeous electric blue cowl-neck minidress from Jenni Kayne topped off with an embellished black belt. Given the high-octane color of the dress, Jessica refrained from adding more color to the mix, opting for a sleek black Sergio Rossi clutch and a killer pair of cutout pumps. Keeping it simple with regards to accessories, she cut it off at one gorgeous cocktail ring from Siera. A slightly slouchy minidress like this one is extremely versatile- wear it as a tunic and layer it over leggings or skinny jeans for a daytime look, or pair with opaque tights, pumps, and a sharp blazer for a sophisticated day-to-night style. You really can’t go wrong with this color either and it’s one of the few bright shades that flatters just about any complexion. Check out my SLIDESHOW to get this standout style!

Video Style Steal: Kristinia Debarge Works It In “Sabotage”

imageIf Kristinia DeBarge looks slightly familiar to you, don’t worry, you’re not going crazy. I watched American Juniors too — I’ll admit it — back when they still believed in inflicting Simon Cowell-like cruelty upon children… and Kristinia was quite the contender. She may not have made the winning group of singers (but let’s face it — it was probably for the best), but now she’s making it big with single girl anthems like “Goodbye” from her solo album Exposed. In the video for her second single “Sabotage,” she dons her darker side in a cropped moto jacket and textured tights, and shows off some sultry dance moves to boot. She may have first arrived on the scene years ago as a cute little crooner, but now she’s sexy, single, and stylish… and ready to kick some serious butt. Rock A Body-Con Herve Leger Dress Like Amanda Bynes

imageAt this year’s Teen Choice Awards, the always adorable Amanda Bynes kept it fuss-free and fabulous. Amanda is a huge fan of Herve Leger and rocked a citrus yellow bandage dress from the label at the event. She gave the look her own unique spin by pairing it with a pair of electric purple Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps and a gold python clutch from Gerard Darel. Never one to pile on the accessories, Amanda kept it simple with two muted rings. Adding to the playful look were her Barbie pink nails (neon nail shades are all the rage right now). Whether you want to splurge on a bandage style from Herve Leger or find a more affordable substitute, this silhouette always screams sexy and grants you the freedom to accessorize in a way that suits your personal style.
