Glow-in-the-dark Buoy

The Solar LED Lifebuoy makes perfect sense in a rescue scenario. It’s basically a simple lifesaver with some solar tech applied to it. The benefit of the concept is that incase you’re overboard and with this lifesaver around you, spotting you in low lights will not be an issue. Moreover the solar tech takes care of the battery charging part.

Solar Stick With USB! Wow!

I am going to be honest with you; I have seen many ideas and concepts that look at harnessing solar power, but none as creative as the eSaving. Here is a device with a retractable solar sheet and ability to charge devices using a USB base. It features 2 regular USB connections and 1 for the USB 2. Love the clean and simple approach towards problem solving.

The Dry Wave

The Wave Dry is an innovative concept that looks at drying clothes faster and in a cost-effective way. It basically is this solar device that can be charged via the windows of the house. The soaked up solar goodness is used to power the drying UV lights and hot air. Although it looks to be a bit bulky for now, I think a couple of refinements down the line, this idea can do some great good!

Solar Bell

The Beauty of Science and Research

Plug It On The Window

The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. So far we have seen solutions that act as a solar battery backup, but none as a direct plug-in. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively.

On My Windowsill

… lies a lot of dust, especially in-between the rail tracks for the window. I do my best to keep the dust and debris away, however the combination of vacuuming the track and brushing out the debris doesn’t help. I also require a low maintenance herb to grow on my windowsill, and this is how I will tackle both these aspects.

Cleaner Robot by Chae Young Sam & Jeong Ming Yeong is this beautifully designed vacuum with brush that dedicatedly cleans up the rail tracks of the sliding windows. The robotic device even features a built-in UV lamp for sterilization and recharges using solar power.

Plan’t – Solar Energy Garden by Min Soon Kim is a hydroponic cultivating machine that can be used in apartments to grow vegetables right on your window. The device harnesses solar energy and then uses it to power a mild LED mood lamp for the night and also for the times when the sun doesn’t shine so much for the plant.

Never miss another sunset…

Almost unrecognizable as a clock, the limited edition Sun Set wall clock (available here) is unlike any other timepiece out there in both aesthetic and functionality! Beyond indicating precision time, the design also shows the sun’s exact position in the sky, the moment of sunrise and sunset, as well as the length of day and night. More than a clock, it’s also a learning tool that introduces a new perspective to the user who will visualize the length of a day and various times of the year like never before!

Two sides of one solar-powered light clip

For the generations surrounding mine, there’s always going to be something magical about a digital product that requires only solar power to work. Because of this – and because the product we’re about to look at here is simply wonderful – it simply must be made. Or we hope it’ll be made: it’s the Clip•Holding the sunshine by a group working at the Shannxi University of Science and Technology, and it’s cute!

This conceptual design takes its physical form from the simple chip clip – or that’s what you might know it as. The larger area on one side of the clip is a solar panel that collects power throughout the day. On the other side you’ve got a touch switch and an LED light panel that shines rather brightly when you’ve made a tap. The energy is transferred from one side of the device to the other through some simple contacts that roll around the center clip contact.
