Stella McCartney And Sir Peter Blake Team Up For Exclusive Net-A-Porter Capsule Collection

Alexander Wang has his T line and an upcoming partnership with the Gap, Jason Wu has “The Exclusive,” an 8 piece classic line, and now Stella McCartney has hers. This week marks the unveiling of her exclusive capsule collection for Net-a-porter.com. The limited edition collection for Summer ’09 includes a partnership on one original print with British pop artist Sir Peter Blake. The collection unveils its 4 parts: Magnolia, Poem, Island, and Kites with four films in four days starting on May 5th. The collection is meant to be mixed and matched to create that perfectly undone, done look. Other videos on the site include interviews with Stella where she speaks about her inspiration and her favorite piece from the line (the Sir Peter Blake cloud print espadrille wedge) and her collaboration with Blake. imageQuite often, you’ll find me lamenting the fact that we never have enough hours in the day. There seems to be so little time for everything we need to do that we’re multi-tasking at every moment. From watching tv, reading the latest blogs, and catching up with a friend on the phone all at the same time, it can get hectic. If that sounds like you, then you’ve probably had moments where you needed your clothes to multi-task too! Consider this possible scenario: you’re heading to a museum for a fun day of art and culture and you also have a beach party to go to later in the afternoon. Of course, you don’t have the time to go home and change in between. What’s a girl to do? All you need is a wrap dress, a boyfriend blazer, and other simple items! Not Britney’s Cheetos: Frito-Lay’s 100 Calorie Version Keeps Maya Looking Chic, In Preen!

imageHey Hivers- Maya again. Thanks for helping me choose a handbag! I ended up going with the Marc- it’s so young and hip, just like me. I contemplated hiding it from Simon for awhile, but a bag like this can’t stay hidden in the back of the closet for long! Besides, it’s getting pretty crowded back there. Anyway, things at the boutique have been exciting- a couple of in-store events, a mini fashion show, and shopping parties with cupcakes and cocktails- and let me tell you, after a couple of drinks, those frosted confections become hard to resist! Good thing I discovered these Baked Cheetos 100 calorie packs– let me just say these are not the Cheetos a certain Miss Spears has been known to enjoy. They’re baked, as in not fried! I keep them on hand just for moments like these. Sure, munching on Cheetos isn’t quite as chic as delicately nibbling on a cupcake, but they certainly go better with the latest addition to my closet- this Preen bandage dress. Red is so my color, don’t you think?

imageLike most girls, I’m a sucker for anything shiny. I’ve been known to even gravitate towards random objects on the sidewalk that happen to catch the sun, only to find that it’s a piece of wadded up gum wrapper or a rogue screw from a nearby construction site. The era of the “bling” was an exciting one, but as I mature, I find my tastes are maturing as well. I still love diamonds (or the more affordable cubic zirconia, let’s be honest), but overly bedazzled pendants and baubles just seem a little juvenile and take over an outfit and its wearer instead of accenting it. This spring, it’s time to go au natural! Keep your shirts on because I was referring to all the beautiful natural stones that we are seeing in stores! It Never Hurts To Make A Good In-‘Vest’-Ment!

imageIt’s official. The vest has become the new blazer. You can dress it up with a shirt and tie. You can dress it down with a solid colored t-shirt. You can dress it sideways, dress it upside down– no matter what you do with it, you can make it work. It adds a dapper touch to any outfit– and all you need is one versatile vest in your wardrobe. For me, it’s my Keanan Duffty vest from Target. I wear it every chance I get. But for those of you who need a nice vest to add to your closet, make sure it fits to a tee. An adjustable strap in the back is always helpful to give you a nice suit-like silhouette. Also, keep the color palette as simple as possible so that it goes with more stuff in your wardrobe– but also look for subtle details that make them unique. The April 77 Transmission Vest has a snazzy zipper instead of buttons, while the texture of the Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Vest is sartorially appetizing– but when making your in-‘vest’-ment, don’t go for one that is splattered with graphics or encrusted with rhinestones.
