imageI don’t know if they’re just too busy browning our bagels to perfection to be concerned with looks, but it seems exceedingly rare to find aesthetically pleasing toasters. It’s even more unlikely that I’d spot a toaster I felt I just had to have based on cuteness alone! Until now, toasters seem to have been strictly business — pop in your toast, grab it when it pops back out, get on with your day — but the Bodum Bistro 2-slice Toaster isn’t only functional… it’s pretty darn spiffy too! With eight fun colors to choose from and a modern heat-resistant rubber exterior, it doesn’t just look pretty, either! The adjustable-width slots can fit all sorts of slices (no more cramming or jamming your huge slabs of bread) and the pull-out crumb tray makes for easy clean-up. I think I already have about 4 free toasters from various other appliance purchases, but this one is just so cute, it might be worth the splurge!

Chic For Cheap: 20 Rockstar Looks for Under $20!

imageFlipping through magazines like Vogue, W, or Harper’s Bazaar always seems to leave me wanting. They always showcase lust-inducing fashion and accessories that I wish, wish, wish were in my own closets and drawers. I flip through a few pages of a featured photoshoot and inevitably spot something (or many things) that I don’t think I could possibly live without! I eagerly focus my attention on the fine print in the corner that tells you the item, where it can be found, and the price. The price kills me every time. Half a years rent for that soft, Italian leather satchel? I’m sure it’s smooth as butter, but I can’t sleep in it. Are those killer stilettos worth going without electricity and water for a few months? Almost, but not quite. I haven’t gone that insane yet! But that little bit of logic is not enough for me to just let it go and forget about it. Lately, all the magazines have been showing rocker-inspired clothing and accessories that I’m sure I could pull off if only I had the funds. Chains, metallic hardware, black and white contrasting details, filigree designs – all beautiful and all outside my budget. But I will not be disheartened! The budget fashionista loves and appreciates high-end designers, but knows that an endless supply of money doesn’t equal a great fashion sense and a limited budget doesn’t mean you have to only have second-rate, un-trendy ensembles. The Coveted Gives Us The Inside Scoop On The Dior Beauty Fall Collection

I stopped by Saks San Francisco to get a makeup lesson with Dior National Makeup Artist Karen Hummel. She shared lots of insider tips and techniques that I’ve been incorporating into my makeup routine. I love how she played up my eyes with the greys in the Smoky Jazz Club compact ($65) and I was blown away by how long and full my lashes looked when she layered two coats of the new Diorshow Iconic Mascara ($27). It almost looked like I was wearing false lashes. I also fell head over heels for the new award-winning Diorskin Nude Fresh Glow Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 ($45) and Diorskin Nude Fresh Glow Powder SPF 10 ($45).
