10 Fabulous Frocks Under $50!

imageI’m definitely loving this new trend of rompers and jumpsuits. Anyone who knows me at all will tell you that I’m borderline obsessed. But really, the infatuation stems beyond to a love for all one-pieces. The most familiar, most versatile and most comfortable one-piece of all time? That would have to be the well-loved dress. Dresses are feminine no matter the style – casual jersey knit for the weekend with friends, or silk sateen for that cocktail party you’ve been planning for – and they are easy to dress up or down. They’re convenient because you don’t need to take time trying to decide which top goes well with which bottom and, although they take mere seconds to put on, they make you look pretty and put-together. A dress can be appropriate for almost any situation so check out the slideshow for our 10 favorites under $50!

Hot In The Hive: Jee Vice Heated Sunglasses In Orange Jubilee, As Seen On Sarah Jessica Parker

imageWhenever I try and shop for sunglasses, I always see the usual black or tortoiseshell frames. Yawn! And at the risk of getting unfriended by all my best girlfriends on Facebook, I’m actually not the biggest fan of Sex and the City. But that doesn’t mean I don’t look up to Carrie and the gang for some major fashion inspiration especially for sunglasses. So on Sarah Jessica Parker’s first day on the set back in her role as Carrie Bradshaw, she wore a fabulous purple tiered dress, some killer Louboutins, and orange shades. Whoa… orange shades? Leave it to the Sex and the City wardrobe department on finding a pair of orange sunglasses that look absolutely chic instead of looking like something my 7 year-old cousin would wear. Jee Vice has been around since 2003 making sunglasses the likes of Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Katherine Heigl, and Lindsay Lohan have all been seen wearing. So grab a pair of Jee Vice sunglasses and get ready to put your best face on for the paparazzi!

Price: $170

Lara Stone Curates Not Just a Label

imageWhen they say Not Just a Label, they really mean it. A shop that’s been around for a few months, with guest curators including my hero Diane Pernet, this online boutique really promotes all the labels I love to write about (ahem Blushless!) This month they have Lara Stone, and I’m not really a person to gush over models, but I have a not-so-secret girlcrush on this alien looking lady. Seriously, I’m always amazed every time I see her… that’s Lara Stone? Yep, that’s what I think. Anyway, before I digress in my internal conversations, as if I didn’t have another reason to love her, she’s also picked an amazingly cool selection of clothing for this month’s shop. Among them, my dear Liv from Blushless Livlaovone heart dress, Emma from Seelenkleid (posted about here and here) Gemma Slack’s Spine Dress (posted about her too), Lara Dawson’s Buckminster dress, and yeah, I could go on linking to this site, but you get the drift. It’s worth a peek, and it’s nice to see an online shop that carries all my online muses.

Go Wild With Animal Prints For Your Home!

imageFor my fall wardrobe, I’ve been looking to include animal prints whether it’s a luxurious leopard print jacket or zebra print flats. However, these sultry prints can’t stay confined to your closet! Your home can always use some animal prints. Thankfully, you don’t need to go to a safari or harm any poor creatures to put some animal prints in your home. From your living room to the bathroom, you can easily add a touch of the wild side to every room. Take a look at these animal print chenille toss pillows. They’re super soft, less than $20, and sure to liven up a plain sofa. Serve up a meal on zebra printed plates which are bound to make your regular meat and potatoes meal seem a bit more exciting than usual. Like a lot of other decadent things in life, animal prints should always be used in moderation. If not, then you run the risk of looking like Austin Powers decorated your pad. Take a peek at my slideshow to see how you can bring the animal kingdom into your home!

Hot In The Hive: It-Girls From “The Hills” & “90210” Love For Joseph’s Leather Jackets!

imageI’m convinced that I know more than anyone exactly how hard it is to find the perfect real leather moto jacket at a reasonable price. It seems like everyone else in the world already has one that they’re rocking on the street daily… so where’s mine? Well, thanks to fashionable LA girls like Audrina Patridge and Jessica Lowndes, proclaimed fans of playful French design team For Joseph, I may have find my perfect match… or two. Or four. With their variety of styles and details, from pocketed bombers to biker-chic exposed zippers, it’s hard to choose which of their trendy, celeb-approved options I’d want for my go-to jacket. And considering their reasonable price range, I probably wouldn’t have to pick just one (though that’s probably not a good idea). Check out the choices on the For Joseph site and be prepared to fall in love!

Not Your Average Floor Lamps!

imageWe all cracked up during Anchorman when Brick stated “I love lamp,” but really, a cool floor lamp can actually bring excitement to a room! The lamps we’re talking about, however, aren’t your standard, prototype floor lamps– these lamps are designed to make you “ooh” and “ahh.” If you’re looking to give your room the unconventional edge that your standard floor lamp isn’t, these light fixtures are more like a work of art with purpose. With twists of metal and an array of different-looking shades, your new lamp can be so much more than a night-time reading accessory. A look at these lamps will make you appreciate light in a whole new way, so take a peek at a slideshow of some of the coolest lamps you can get your hands on!

Get Physical In Fall’s Gym-Inspired Looks

imageYou don’t have to run marathons or have a relationship with the Stairmaster to appreciate fall’s athletic-inspired looks. Just look at Isabel Marant’s fall ’09 runway, where sweatshirt tees go from gym to glam when paired with layered skirts and embellished ankle boots. Alexander Wang has been taking sweatpants out of the gym for a few seasons now, and given their slouchy, not sloppy cut, they could almost pass as dress pants if worn with heels and a blazer- just don’t tell your boss you slept in them the night before. On a budget? American Eagle and Free People can hook you up without the pricey membership. The key is to look for pieces with unexpectedly luxe touches (like cashmere or sequins), or pair casual ones with something more polished- in other words, leave the sneakers at home. Go Back To School (Or Work) WIth A Stylish Backpack!

imageI love tote bags as much as the next person but lugging my laptop, lunch, and other necessities to work everyday has taken a toll on my poor right shoulder. So I’ve started using a backpack as my day bag instead. The only one I have right now is an old North Face backpack from my high school days. It’s still fully functional, but I’ve been looking for something a little more stylish instead of looking like I’m going off to hike a mountain. Lucky me, it seems like backpacks have become a trendy accessory with brands and designers from Kate Spade to Juicy Couture making backpacks fit for every fashionista. While backpacks can be seen most often in school hallways, chances are you’ll also find people using backpacks outside of school and work. They distribute weight more evenly than large shoulder bags and leave the crook of your arm to hold more shopping bags instead! Take a look at my slideshow to see some stylish backpacks you should carry around this fall.
