Spotted In Hawaii: Anteprima Hello Kitty Wirebag

imageWhile on vacation in Oahu, I spotted this cute Hello Kitty wirebag from the Anteprima store in the Royal Hawaiian Center. It’s not my style but being that Anteprima doesn’t have stores in mainland USA, I was quite curious about their Wirebag. According to Anteprima, Wirebag is “hand-knitted by skilled craftsman using exclusive wire from Italy” and features a “stretchable and flexible bag shape which can be shaped or resume to original.” The Hello Kitty bags are limited edition and exclusive to the Oahu stores and are encrusted with Swarovski crystals. The “Brillante Kitty” Boston wirebag in Nero Opaco (black) is $868 (small) and $2210 (large). The Orogento (gold) bag is $961 (small). Pretty pricey, but a great addition to any couture Kitty collection!

Hot In The Hive: Bluetooth Mini Phone

imageDon’t you love laughing at the crazy-looking people on the street who look like they’re talking to themselves but are really just using a handy-dandy hands-free device? Or how about those folks driving on the freeway who look like they’re bopping and singing along to the radio but are really just making a business call from that huge hunk of Bluetooth-activated plastic attached to their ear? If you’re considering your own mobile accompaniment but don’t want to look like you’re deep in conversation with the voices inside your own head, look no further than the Bluetooth Mini Phone. Shaped like an actual handheld receiver, you can wear the phone like a semi-stylish pendant necklace & then when you want to make a call, you just pick it up and press call and start chatting! Oh. Wait. So it’s not actually hands-free… but it’s still pretty cute, and a clever sort of gimmick. And, uh, a great conversation starter?

Price: 29,99 GBP

Luxe Minimalism For Your Home On A Minimal Budget!

imageSimplicity in design is a hard thing to achieve. To show good taste and sophistication through minimalism and to have practical and beautiful styles that are sleek and not overwhelming are all characteristics of good design. Every time I see displays of furniture showrooms, or flip through home decor magazines, I always find myself drawn to the most simple and clutter-free layouts. There’s something modern, chic and comforting about the sleek lines and clean, spacious feel of a room designed in a minimalist manner. However, the prices for these pieces usually are so minimal. A house should be a home and you should decorate it the way you want, but not if that means buying the furniture is going to take the roof over your head away! I’ve found multiple pieces and home accessories that will give your living space the sleek, minimalist look you want, without your bank account falling into minimalist territory as well! Check out the slideshow for ideas!

The Coveted Takes A Peek At Sephora’s Window Theatrics

imageI didn’t partake in any Fashion’s Night Out activities– too much temptation to spend my life savings. But this Sephora event in New York looks like it was awesome. Temptu, famous for their airbrush makeup, created living art at the Sephora on 5th Avenue, recreating work they’ve done for cinema and fashion. They crafted a variety of looks, like those from an Italian Vogue spread, Robert DeNiro’s character in Cape Fear (if only DeNiro had looked so yummy), and the movie The Stepford Wives. I’m not quite sure where I would wear numbers all over my face, but I totally would if I could find the right occasion! They really drew a crowd as they airbrushed models in the storefront windows for eight hours. They also lured tons of customers looking to get airbrushed and photographed for a mock fashion mag cover. Now that’s a good time! Check out The Coveted for the latest happenings in the fashion and beauty world!

Whimsically Wearable ‘Handle and Spout’ Jewelry

imageRemember when you were a little girl and nothing made you happier than having a big bow in your hair? Handle & Spout jewelry is perfect for adding just a touch of whimsy to any outfit. Started by friends Corinne Gill and Blake Ramsey as a creative refuge from their day jobs, the duo hand-makes this festive line of accessories and jewelry. Inspired by ’30s and ’40s glamour, they make cute and ethereal chiffon flower hair pins and larger “disco Lilly” poofs that come as a headband or hair pin. They’re girly, fun, shimmery and, at under $35, they make perfect gifts for your girlfriend’s birthday, a beautifully unique accessory for bridesmaids, or maybe something a bride would want to wear for that special day (say hello to something blue!). Handle and Spout round out their collection with gold and silver leather chain necklaces and headbands, an unexpected twist on the heavy metal jewelry look that’s so in right now. Check out the slideshow or go to www.handlespout.com to see even more beautiful designs and purchasing details.

Hot In The Hive: Hi-Fi Hi-Light

imageFrom eye shadow sticks that double as an eye liner to dresses that can be worn in multiple ways, I’m a total sucker for things that can multi-task. With limited space in my room (because it’s filled with clothes, of course!) I’ve got to make my decor count. Lately, I’ve been listening to my music through my dinky laptop speakers and when my desk lamp finally blew out, I had the perfect replacement in mind. The Hi-Fi Hi-Light from PB Teen is a desk lamp, a charging station for your iPod, as well as a speaker! Talk about getting more bang for your buck. While it’s great in my tiny room, this is also a good choice for an office or dorm room. With the desk space you saved by not getting a separate speaker system and desk lame, you now have more room for your accessories!

Faking It: Vintage-Inspired Cameo Jewelry On The Cheap!

imageFun and retro, cameo jewelry is the perfect way to give your look a little vintage flava — without getting scabies from rooting through piles of secondhand threads at a thrift store. These carved pieces (traditionally seen displaying floral bouquets or a person’s bust) are popping up on everything from pins to bracelets to earrings. We can’t get enough of this pair by Del Gatto. Made from Caribbean seashell, they’ve got a charming, neo-classic feel. Unfortunately, the $376 price tag could set you back a bit. No worries, we found these gorgeous cheaper ones by Sardelli for 50 bucks. Almost identical to the pricier pair, our frugal find is sure to make more than a cameo appearance in your wardrobe.
