Coquette Gives Us A Sneak Peek At Rodarte For Target!

imageAnother high-end fashion line makes its move to Target, just in time for the holidays. The edgy-chic Rodarte for Target collection will launch in Target stores and online on December 20th. I am loving the mix of hard/edgy and soft/girly in the collection. From x-ray prints and leopard-print sequin frocks, to lace and tulle dresses with bow belts, the collection is really affordable with prices ranging from $9.99 – $79.99. The collection will be in stores from December 20 through January 31, so if that’s not motivation to brave the holiday shopping crowds, I don’t know what is! Check back with Coquette for more news in designer collections and trends!

Beauty Products Fit To Travel Through The Holidays

imageThe holiday season is probably one of the most strenuous times of the year for many people. I have friends who are crossing state lines (or even crossing the Atlantic Ocean!) to see their families back home. Luckily for me, most of my family lives within a 20 mile radius. Nonetheless, I do my fair share of traveling because I have many dear friends around the world and with airline ticket prices at an all time low, I might be going on a few trips in the future. If you don’t know already, the TSA requires any liquid or gel products be 3.4 ounces or less to be carried onto the airplane. So if you only own full size items of your favorite beauty and skincare products, now’s the time to downsize. While some people may not recommend it, I actually like to use this time to try out new products because trying out a smaller sized product means I feel less guilty if I don’t like it. One of my favorite picks is the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Travel Setwhich boasts some of their most popular products in one set. Take a look at my slideshow for all my travel and TSA friendly selections!

Find Timeless, Rugged Style In Nine West’s “Vintage America” Collection

imageI’ve been terribly fond of anything Americana these days: plaids, rugged leather, broken in boots and Old West-inspired pieces. I was thrilled when I discovered new collection by Nine West to add to my true vintage finds. Their Vintage America collection is inspired by the rich American heritage of the Old West and based on the ruggedly beautiful pieces whose craftsmanship only get better with time. The collection uses lots of suede, hardware details, straps, studs, plaid, faux fur as well as a good bit of the American staple, denim. Some stellar standouts from the fall line are the “Epponie” short suede clog boot and the “Jargon” a high healed lug sole lace up boot with fur detail. And don’t fret if you’ve already got all your boots for winter — the line will continue for spring with rugged sandals, jewelry and bags that evoke the craftsmanship of the Southwest. Check out the SLIDESHOW to see the styles and shop them all at ninewest.com.

Bundle Up In Cute And Cozy Fair Isle Sweaters!

imageMaybe it’s because of their abundance of sheep, but the Scottish people sure love their patterned knits! I first featured houndstooth for the home and now it’s time to get cozy with fair isle. (Fun fact: Fair Isle is actually a tiny island found in the north of Scotland!). The term can refer to any knits that have stitches that are knit alternately in various colors. Whenever I see these knits pop up in stores and magazines, I know it’s time to dress warmly! By the way, this is an awesome alternative to the dreaded “Christmas sweater.” One of my favorites this season is the Fair Isle Snow Sweater from Free People, with a low neckline and cutout in the back. If you’re looking to accessorize with fair isle, then check out the super affordable Fair Isle Scarves. For more warm fair isle knits that are great for winter time, take a look at my slideshow!

WhatsWear Gives A Toast To The Louboutin Champagne Shoe

imageNo need to adjust your screens, you read it right: champagne in a shoe. Once upon a time, in a far more chivalrous day and age, a man used to show his affection for a woman with more than a pick-up line and a martini from the bar. In nineteenth century Europe, gentlemen used to celebrate the performance of an exquisite ballerina and pursue their favorite courtesan by taking the ultimate plunge, performing the “tournee des grands Ducs” — the act of drinking champagne from her shoe. In our modern times, when most relationships begin through a series of text messages, two idealists joined forces to create the rebirth of the genteel spirit that once was. The “Le Rituel” box set is the essence of class and style, with the utmost of quality from sip to sole. The drink is manufactured by Piper-Heidsick, who has been in the business of making quality champagne since 1785. Christian Louboutin, whose red sole has become symbolic of luxury and desire, worked his magic to create the couture glass stiletto fit for any Cinderella. Unfortunately, attaining recounted elegance doesn€™t come easy or cheap. Retailing at $500, “Le Rituel” is sold exclusively at select Neiman Marcus retailers and online at www.le-rituel.com and www.wine.com in extremely low quantities, so act now before the clock strikes midnight. Don’t forget to visit WhatsWear for more of their favorite “it” things!

Techie Holiday Gifts For Girls (‘Cause We Want Them Too!)

imageScrew the body lotions and Christmas socks — I want some real toys. Nothing excites me more than looking through the ads in the morning paper at what new electronics I can add to my Christmas list. I may never receive any of those wonderful technie wonders, but it’s always cool to see what the new year is able to offer. Like the GPS navigation systems and digital photo frames of years past, this year brings tiny netbooks and print to digital photo scanners to the top of everyone’s must-have radar. Hopefully Santa thinks you’ve been good this year, because with gadgets this cool, no manicure or votive set would make you happy after seeing these impressive devices. Hot In The Hive: Kate Spade “Hope Peace Cookies” Notecard Set

imageI don’t want to brag or anything, but I probably have one of the coolest weekend jobs out there (well, as cool as working on weekends can get!). I work at my friend’s paper goods boutique where I sell unique greeting cards, journals, planners, and calendars by independent and local designers. So I’m always on the lookout for what’s new in the world of paper when I’m not obsessing over fashion. Leave it to Kate Spade, aka Jane-of-all-trades, to create a holiday card set that I immediately want to send to all my friends and family members. Kate Spade read my mind because hope, peace, and warm cookies are probably my favorite aspects of the holidays. Then again, it probably applies for Santa Claus too! So if you’ve been looking for a non-cheesy Hallmark card alternative for the holidays, this is it.

Price: $35 for a set of 10 cards and envelopes
Who Found It: facadeindreams was first to add the Hope Peace Cookies Notecard Set to the Hive.

LemonDrop Shows Us How To Fake It In The Trenches

imageDon’t let a fall downpour rain all over your style. Instead, slip into this season’s top topper: the gray trench. A chicer alternative to the khaki raincoat (too preppy) or the bright yellow slicker (too Dick Tracy), this one by Bamford will transition easily from day to evening. Wear it belted over a pair of wide-leg trousers to the office or throw it over a silk party dress for a night out. If $2,800 is a little over budget (a pretty safe bet, unless your name happens to be Oprah), you can pick up this lower-priced version by Mike & Chris. All the details (snazzy wide collar, waist-cinching belt and fold-over button cuffs) are there. In fact, the only thing that’s really missing is the price — this trench is only $198! For more winter looks for less, visit our friends at LemonDrop!

Stylehive’s Stylescopes Help You Destress With Pampering Products!

imageTis the season to be jolly! Friends, family, shopping, parties, gift-giving, delicious foods; all these bring joy and laughter… and sometimes tears and nervous breakdowns. While this time of year is full of merriment, sometimes the more the merrier is in fact the more the scarier. Besides all the festivities and fun times going on, this season is also known to be one of the most stressful. While some signs handle the holidays a little better than others (like stubborn Taurus vs. laid-back Libra), we’re all going to be a little stressed in the coming couple of months. A quick consultation with the constellations help see what stresses may befall us and let us know what pampering spa product would be best suited to help us relax and rejuvenate! So don’t be caught being a Scrooge this holiday season and check out the slideshow to see what the stars have to say about finding the perfect spa product to help you de-stress!
