The Coziest Mug Ever

The ToastyMUG is a design that makes you say DUH! The concept focuses on our natural tendency to hold our cold hands close to a coffee mug in order to warm them. The ergonomic, enveloping form of the handle keep the heat in so your both your drink and your hands are kept toasty. Now, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are all that more satisfying!

An Expression of Espresso

If it weren’t functional at all, I’d still be in love with the look of the Ois Espresso Cup. But it is. So I do even more. Its fine bone china nestles perfectly into the tropical wood saucer to stabilize the cup so you can move with it…. and what good is coffee if you can’t take it with you?

A Drip-Free World!

It’s no secret that the caffeine craving experienced by us coffee lovers is strong enough to risk having a ruined table or smeared papers! But now, that’s a thing of the past! The Drop Rest mug is an ingenious design that catches drips before they make it to the paper or surface of your desk. Capitalizing on the physics of surface tension, a thin groove keeps small, nuisance droplets in place so there’s no need to worry about coffee stains. So simple, it makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it first!

Necessity, The Mother Of An Innovative Mug

Designer ‘Scott ‘ observed that the coffee and tea drinkers at the hawker center in Singapore were served their ‘teh’ (tea) or ‘kopi’ (coffee) in local styled cups, sans saucers. The problem with this is that the beverage is served using condensed milk, which is heavy and settles at the bottom of the cup. As a result the coffee-drinker has to stir the drink several times, and this gets annoying since they have no sanitary place to put down their spoon, and have to place it inside their cup.

The NOTA Coffee Mug allows the user to keep the spoon within their cup, tucked into a niche. This ways the coffee drinker gets to enjoy their drink without the spoon annoying them. Simple and clever!

The Tea Cup SlingsHOT

I never realized that dealing with a tea bag was so frustrating! Admittedly, I’m also more of a coffee drinker… but I can still see why the SlingsHOT Tea Cup is appealing. The slit in the handle keeps the tag from falling in and allows the user to squeeze the liquid out of the soaked bag simply by pulling back as you would a slingshot. Just be careful not to pop yourself in the eye!

the ultimate diy coffee cup sleeve

SoloCupCoffeeSleeve

I bought some disposable Dixie Insulair® hot cups last night. But cool insulation-themed name aside, they didn't feel insulated (read: blazing hot) with coffee inside. So, I began digging around in the cupboards for a cup cozy or some other cup I could use.

I spied these fire-engine-red Chinet cups, which I picked up a Costco some time back. I put my hot cup of coffee inside. It worked! The ridged walls help to insulate and keep my hands cool. All it needed was a better fit, which was easily accomplished by cutting off the base of the cup.

Any similar cup should probably work, too. Experiment with any large plastic cup that has some sort of texture or ridges in the walls and see what works best.
