Living gorgeously on 484ft2 or 45m2

I29-2

Can you believe this beautiful apartment in Amsterdam is only 45m2 or 484ft2 …Dutch design agency i-29 has done an incredible job in creating a new lay-out for this home where all the functions of the house are placed in just two wall units.

I29-3

One pinewood wall for hiding the entrance hall, wardrobe and kitchen equipment and on the opposite a second pinewood wall that integrates a bench, fireplace and storage.

I29-4

What I really love are the white floor, ceiling and walls mixed with the color of the gorgeous pinewood and with YES the Black! If we were to live here I probably would add some nice rugs and you would definetly see some toys laying around…love i-29 for a long time and happy to finally share their work with you, please visit the website for more briliant interios!

Rosepatate

I believe it was over at BKIds that I mentioned Rose Patate for the first time. And seeing her great new pillows over at Vitrine today convinced me again that her designs are absolutely my kind of thing!

Rose Patate aka Rachel Peloquin grew up between Montreal and England and currently lives and works as an independant textile designer in Paris. You can buy her textile collection right here

String shelving systems

City-furniture.be

For a long time now I have a BIG crush on the shelving systems from String! In 1949 Swedish architect Nils Strinning designed this ‘simple’ construction of powder coated steel frames
on which wooden elements hang. It’s timeless, very functional and makes all your books and precious things look more beautiful. {Image above is from City-furniture and below if from Elisabeth Dunker’s home}

While visiting Singapore last month I finally found a shop that sells the String shelves here in Asia… it’s called Style Nordic on Ann Siang Road, one of the nicest streets in Singapore by the way… of course online there is a lot to find about String shelves…vintage ones and new ones are available throughout the web…

KStudio

Kstudio

I’m truly honored that KStudio has become a sponsor of
Bloesem…I’ve been a long-time admirer of their work. I think it was over at 2Modern that I saw the beautiful KStudio embroidered pillows for the first time. And ever sine I often visit the website to see what Shelly and her mom, Mary Klein have been up to.

Their great eye for detail and their conscious way of making each product makes their collection so special to me.

Shelly told me about their new customizable line …how cool is this, create your own family and let KStudio embroider them on a pillow or wall art piece for you. All you have to do is choose the characters you think resemble your family best and KStudio will embroidery them for you…even the doggie or the cat can be in it!

And which wedding couple wouldn’t be happy with a pillow with their look-a-likes on it? ps. KStudio only uses ‘green materials’!

Dutch photographer Marjon Hoogervorst

Marjonhoogervorst

Last weekend I spoke (well emailed) with Dutch photographer Marjon Hoogervorst about her beautiful images from her collection ‘spaces’ … I particularly liked this image above, because my husband and I often discuss the possibility of placing different Persian rugs next to each other… the first time we saw this was of course in the home of Charles and Ray Eames, I’m not sure this is the way I would do it, but the image does convince me how nice it can look!

Marjonhoogervorst2

Marjon Hoogervorst is one of those talented photographers who creates and produces her own shoots, she works independently and is always searching for nice places …if you know a house that Marjon should come and photograph please send her an email, she will be in The Dutch Antilles soon, so if anyone know a beautiful house on one of the gorgeous islands 🙂 …most her productions are for sale online right here…
