wPad

There is only one word for the Wise Pad – exceptional! Here is a tablet that has a device that is piggybacking on it and can be used to make calls and even juice up via kinetics. I bet there will be some complex tech involved, which only my engineering friends will be able to help figure out. Until then I am going to enjoy this project as a concept and so should you!

The Blue Leaf Water

Watering is an innovative water purifier intended for singles. It can be wall mounted and features a blue leaf that indicates the number of glasses you have consumed during the day. It is recommended that we consume at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, so with each rotation, the blue leaf keeps a track of the number glasses consumed. You can customize the temperature and other features to suit your needs. I like it more for the fact that it integrates so well as a funky wall art décor!

Five Reasons To Flash A Smile

A camera is best described as a device that records images that can be stored directly and transmitted to another location, or both. We have seen it evolve through the years in both technology and in design. This brings to mind the question, what is the future of a camera in say about five to ten years from now. Will it be minimal or elaborate? One thing is for sure, the cameras of the future will be high on technology but their designing may get radically unconventional. Here is a look at five futuristic concept cameras that give you a reason to flash those pearly whites!

Ten Innovative Award Winning Concepts at A’ Design Awards

Innovation is a very relative term and can resonate differently to people. One of the definitions I learnt was that innovations should be something new; should generate curiosity and debate; and lastly should be doable. Barring the doable criteria, I guess most of what is defined is true. When we chart the course of the A’ Design Awards, we see some really innovative concepts showcased that have generated enough traction to warrant a conversation.

Here is a look at ten innovative award winning concepts that have won the A’ Design Awards.

Teet

Ashley Linnenbank designed this bold concept for milk packaging that would surely get noticed on the shelves at the grocery stores. At a time when people are interested in getting more in touch with where their food comes from – it’s a very fun idea – almost looks like it came from Ikea.

Cooka – “placemat stove” by Maurizio Maiorana

I wish I had one of these when I was in university, what a wonderful idea – to be able to have a lightweight, portable stove for whenever you need it.  Or imagine having an oven in your kitchen, with no permanent stovetop – just coveted counterspace everywhere – you just plop out your placemat stovetop whenever/wherever you need it. The Cooka placemat stove is created of non-toxic LSR (Liquid Silicon Rubber) that you can roll up and stow away easily. The cooking plates heat up/cool down rapidly with silver thermal conduction.

Kind of like a factory farm for humans, I’ve seen similar things in video games, however imagine if this actually worked? This is a concept design for “a combination farm-restaurant-hotel-amusement park, designed to accommodate 1,000 visitors a day”. Thanks to Fast Company for the link.
