The Qua Effect

Qua is a nightlight for children that exude a soothing effect thanks to its textured glass and looks. It even doubles up as a natural humidifier because of the water that you need to load in for the effect. The surreal effect of the rippled glass and water mimics the feeling of being comfortable in the womb, thus encouraging a peaceful night’s sleep. Sweet!

It’s an Elefier!

The latest addition to the pachyderm family, the Koya humidifier was designed with kids in mind! The shortness of the humidifier makes the controls accessible by children of almost any height, and its simplified interface makes it easy to operate. Its fun, elephant-inspired aesthetic enhances rather than takes away from the vibe of play rooms, and encourages kids to learn about and use the appliance.

In-house Volcano

I love the way designer Dae-hoo Kim has taken away the focus from the form and driven it to the process of vapor creation in this Volcano Humidifier. No doubt the design is classy, but the whole idea of a volcano shaped humidifier emitting doughnut-shaped condensed vapor is a lot more appealing. Take a look at the video to see how it’s done. Absolutely stunning; just like a volcanic eruption!

Volcano Series Humidifier is a 2013 IDEA Awards winner.

Masuto Humidifier

This image has no alt text

Designed by Shin Okada, this humidifier is made of Hinoki (a rot-resistant wood from Japanese Cypress) that naturally draws water from it’s base and spreads moisture into the air. It’s a great low-fi solution to dry conditions, and certainly better looking than electric humidifiers (not to mention quieter).

The Humidifier That Requires No Electricity

Non poteva che essere di manifattura giapponese questo umidificatore naturale. Il legno è resistente al marciume e rispetto ad un bicchiere d’acqua, offre circa sei volte la velocità di evaporazione. Lo trovate su masuza.
