If Google Goes Gamer

If there’s one company that can create an entirely new console to go up against the big 3 (Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation) it’s gotta be Google. Joseph Dumary’s Nexus Orbit concept console sheds light on how exactly the device might look and behave. Aesthetically, it’s inspired by contemporary architecture, but technologically you can expect it to include integration with Google Glasses, Google Play as well as access to Google’s amazing search, maps, video, and drive features. Check out the vid for more on Orbit!

Ignore Mom! Play with your food!

Pixelate is a Guitar-Hero-style eating game in which players compete in a one-minute showdown to see who can eat the most food in the correct order. (Yes, fo’ real!) A digital interface built into a custom dining table shows players which foods to eat and when, while the game detects whether they’ve eaten the correct food by measuring the food’s resistance on the fork. Pixelate gameifies the act of eating, challenging players to consider whether they think before they eat, or eat before they think! Video after the jump!

Ultimate Foosball

The B99 brings some awesome hi-tech additions to the game of foosball which has gone surprisingly unchanged in design throughout it’s history. It wirelessly syncs with your smartphone to give you training, match statistics or even replays. As added bonus, it features a Bang and Olufsen sound system so you can stream your jock jams while you play! Whether you consider it just a table-top game or a full-fledged sport, it’s easy to appreciate this unique integration.

Rummikub Reimagined

A household favorite, the iconic Rummikub game has undergone very little change over the years. iVokey is a fresh take on the tile-based game that gives new life to the set with modern fonts and colors. An overall focus on lightness called for using new materials like plastic and acrylic for the board and tiles which have been reduced in size but are even more durable. Packed into a convenient, compact tote, it’s easier than ever to take to parties or gift to friends!

Microsoft IllumiRoom Project
