Scoop :: slowwood 2 :: the NEW collection

slowwood studio aandacht

I believe it has been more than a year ago since I showed you the first slowwood collection by Christien Starkenburg. Great to find an email in my inbox this morning with gorgeous new images of slowwood 2

Whereas the first collection all about small side tables … slowwood 2 goes much bigger … same style and materials but scaled to dining table sizes.

Designer Chrisitien Starkenburg from slowwood lives in a very special and what I consider must be one of the most beautiful homes you could possibly imagine… truly a dreamhouse … would you like to see her house then follow this link.  [MORE]

Tatjanaquax

Another thing I would like to highlight in this post is the perfect styling by Tatjana Quax. She is well-known in the Netherlands as one of the best stylists. I love her always crispy looking worlds … and I strongly believe that working with a stylist like Tatjana makes all the difference when launching a new product or collection. Nice to see my new passion, copper accessories in this picture.

Foekje Fleur

Foekjefleur_bottles

It's about time that I write about Dutch designer Foekje Fleur once more here on Bloesem. She has so many new wonderful designs since I saw her amazing porcelain plates for the first time. When I saw how young this designer is, born in 1988, i first felt very old 🙂 but more importantly am curious to see what this talent is going to bring in the long future ahead of her…

Above a series of bottles in porcelain using molds from wasted plastic bottle that were found in Dutch river the Maas … I think the colors are so beautiful. You can buy them online in her shop.

and these probably are the nicest Christmas ornaments I have seen in a long time… unfortunately sold out, but perhaps we might convince her selling them again this year.

My Infinite Home Tool by Jolien Hanemaaijer

HANEMAAI

When I (=Rachelle, intern at Bloesem) am travelling, I always get this curious vibe over me while looking at all the other travellers around me. The questions that come to mind are where are they going and what do they carry in their suitcase or backpack?

Dutch Designer Jolien Hanemaaijer thought of a solution that will calm down my curiosity.

She created this wonderful project named My Infinite Home Tool that I absolutely love! This project exists of 2 portable suitcases, one regular suitcase and one you can carry as backpack, you can use these objects as cabinets or you can take them with you to carry around! Her work got nominated for aDMY Award 2012 in Berlin (DMY Berlin is an international design network for contemporary product design.)….. MORE

HANEMAAI_2

This project was inspired from her own personal experience while travelling and having to live out of a suitcase. These 2 suitcases will bring you freedom and adventure that you get from travelling into you daily live.

Jolien graduated from the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague) in the department of Textile Design. After she graduated she started her own design label named Hanemaai.

Read more stories about the infinite Home tool here and here and who knows maybe you too will get inspired to fill up a suitcase and show it to the world! ~Rachelle intern at Bloesem

Dutch design: studio Elke van den Berg

Elkevandenberg_knopen

Elke van den Berg is a Dutch Designer that is worth to keep an eye on. She recently designed four absolutely beautiful drinking jugs, that you can use for serving tea, coffee, water or lemonade. Now you could ask yourself why these jugs are so special.  Well, these four jugs are not only a piece of art that you can hang in your kitchen for display no, each jug was made with a purpose and that is the drinks that you serve. Elke choose to make the jugs out of different materials based on the characteristics of the drinks as every drink has its own character…

You can check out more of Elke’s products with brilliant colour combinations at Studio Elke van den Berg. Like these ramekins called Chocolate Circus it does not only sound delicious but it also looks delicious..

If it was me I know what I would choose to hang up in my kitchen…lucky for us Elke’s products are for sale at  Restorded (they collect and sell unique products like Elke's) or at Confetti webshop.
