imageJessica Alba was spotted leaving the ever-trendy Nobu, fittingly in a very “in” plaid blouse by MK2K. She paired her top with a black cardigan, black pants and simple jewelry, making this low-key outfit chic and comfortable. Jessica would look good in anything but this shirt works to highlight her super-slim figure. It is also an outfit that would look good on a variety of people, whether or not they have the body Jessica does. With a smocked front, this inexpensive blouse ($143!) is great for concealing a larger mid-section (not that Jessica has one by the looks of her bikini pics). Paired with skinner jeans, shorts or a skirt, this shirt can be dressed up or down depending on how you want to wear it. MK2K is a brand beloved by many stars and regular shoppers alike. Their line consists of adorable tops, fun and flirty dresses and versatile blouses. Plaid has been a trend we have been seeing for a while and it looks to have no signs of going out anytime soon. Video Style Steal: Beyonce Has “Sweet Dreams” Of Sparkles & Sequins

imageBeyonce, like our friend Tyra Banks, always seems to come up in conversation whenever the word “fierce” is mentioned. This is why it was no surprise to see that her video for “Sweet Dreams,” the latest single from her I Am… Sasha Fierce album, is no less stylishly sassy than the previous vids, and she again comes equipped not only with some seriously diva-esque outfits, but her two hip-shaking backup dancers to boot. This time, however, she amps up the costuming beyond the iced-out bionic hand and leotard-and-heels combo she rocked in “Single Ladies” and channels a similarly monochromatic wardrobe with a little more sparkle and shine. With over-the-knee leather boots, a sequin miniskirt, and a silver lame dress that seems to channel a sexier Jane Jetson (we won’t even get started with the gold metal C-3PO number), B is still milkin’ the futuristic she-robot look for all its worth — and is still looking like a million bucks. Stern for Diane Von Furstenberg (a signature piece she is rarely seen without). This look is perfect for your summer soirees and can be dressed up or down to fit any occasion. imageNobody throws a party like Puffy/Diddy/Sean Combs! This is a man who is a giant in the music industry, fashion world and a force to be reckoned with in terms of business savvy. Sean “Diddy” Combs definitely embodies the age-old saying of ‘Work Hard, Party Harder!’. He does everything so over-the-top and extravagantly, how could you expect anything less at a Diddy party? Diddy got together with his best friend and also very business-savvy, trouble making, taller, Caucasian counterpart, Ashton Kutcher to throw a star-studded summer bash! Held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, Combs, Kutcher and Malaria No More opened their arms and summer closets and invited many of their closest celebrity friends to help celebrate the sunshine and raise awareness for malaria. Where there is a Hollywood party, there’s the latest fashion and many big celebrity egos trying to show it off! Everyone had to wear white (Diddy turned Katie Lee Joel away for wearing cream) but each star had their own take and personal style! Model Amber Rose, Kanye’s ex, kept it sexy and summery with a pair of white skinny jeans and a barely-there, draped top, while Cassie played up her edgy half-hairstyle with an equally edgy half-dress! New Clutch Helps Celebs Beat Paparazzi At Their Own Game

imageMost of us insignificant peons have no idea what it’s like to be hounded by the paps. And I on occasion have thought celebs should just suck it up because if no one cares about you, then your celebrity is over. But they can soon mount a counter defense against the paparazzi: Adam Harvey is the genius behind the Anti-Paparazzi Clutch that gives off a bright flash when it detects a flash from a camera. The result is an obscured photo, which for the paps means no check. The clutch will have a limited release in early Spring 2010. Until then, annoyed celebrities will continue to scowl and hide behind a hood or bodyguard. Or they could just render paparazzi photos useless by hiring a photog to follow them, and then give the photos to the tabloids.

Beyonce, Keri Hilson or Alicia Keys: Which BET Beauty Stole The Show?

imageThe BET Awards were just held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and it was a bittersweet show this year due to the sudden passing of Michael Jackson. Personally, the most poignant moment was Beyonce performing “Arms Of An Angel” in remembrance, but you also had other knock-out performers like as Jay-Z, gospel duo Mary Mary, Keri Hilson and Monica. Some favorites won: Beyonce for Best Female R&B Artist, Ne-Yo for Best Male R&B, Keri Hilson walked away with ‘Best New Artist’ and Lil’ Wayne is still on top with a ‘Best Male Hip-Hop Artist win. Great, but no real surprises there! Aside from the big celeb names, fist-pumping performances and musical memories, stars were also lighting up the red carpet and showing it off pre-show! Many of the men cleaned up nicely, but it was the women that did the real show-stopping and head-turning. Beyonce showed some leg in a marbled Balmain dress, Alicia Keys looked confident and sexy in a sari-inspired tunic, and Keri Hilson made a bold statement in a pop-art, mosaic strapless sheath dress. Rock A Hot Pink Frock Like Blake Lively

imageAt this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, the beautiful Blake Lively made a show-stopping splash wearing a hot pink strapless dress by Michael Kors. Given the bright hue of the dress, Blake kept the rest of her ensemble on the subtle side with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps, and some stunning jewelry pieces from Lorraine Schwartz including blackened gold and diamond hoops, a black jade and diamond ring and a blackened gold diamond mesh ring. Hot pink was without a doubt the shade du jour on the Spring 2009 runways, as seen at Badgley Mischka, Matthew Williamson, Doo. ri, Christian Dior, and many more, and the neon-color trend will be even more potent with the eighties revival on the horizon for Fall. Watch A Preview Of “The September Issue,” Coming To Theaters This Fall!

imageIf your understanding of the inner-workings of the fashion magazine industry is loosely based on repeated viewings of The Devil Wears Prada, get thee to a theater this fall when long-awaited documentary “The September Issue” is finally released. Directed by R.J. Cutler, the film showcases Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour in a light that few people aside from her tight-knit circle of friends and editors have or will ever see her. Behind Wintour’s sunglasses and iconic bob haircut is a woman whose taste, opinion, and foresight determines the course of American fashion and the place it holds within the industry worldwide. Designers create collections for all sorts of reasons, above all to impress her– it’s no wonder she’s garnered a reputation as someone to be feared. Though tense and demanding on many levels, the film is simultaneously refreshing and entertaining, and truly a rare glimpse into a world that we think we know so much about. The cameras take us through meetings, fashion weeks, and photo shoots so we can gain more understanding of the immense effort that goes into creating the magazine’s most important issue. Aware of how she is perceived by those outside of her immediate circle, Wintour remains graceful and unapologetic– after all, it is her job. The film stars Wintour alongside Grace Coddington, Andre Leon Talley, Patrick Demarchelier and Oscar De La Renta, and will be released on August 28th in NYC and on September 11th nationwide.
