Video Style Steal: Britney’s Equestrian-Style Looks Are On Our Fashion “Radar”

imageI don’t know what it is about Britney Spears that makes me compulsively root for her through thick and thin. I guess a part of me is still in denial, thinking she’s going to bust out onstage with a boa constrictor or silver chair and start magically performing with the energy and enthusiasm of Britney circa 2001. Even without all the flair and fanfare of her high-octane performance past, Britney is still doing pretty well for herself, now out with her new video for “Radar,” the fourth single off her latest album Circus. This time around, Britney leaves the barely-there lingerie get-ups and goes for a sort of equestrian-chic look while swooning over a sexy polo player within the video’s gorgeous Santa Barbara setting. While I’m not sure I fully dig the whole slow-motion horse imagery, her outfits are undoubtedly cute… and the best part? Most of what she’s rockin’ in the vid is made by Candie’s (Brit is the brand’s current spokesperson), so the looks can be found for super-cheap at Kohl’s! Click “See Video” to see the looks in action, then check the slideshow to see how you can pull off your own interpretation with a mix of similar and exact pieces straight from the video!

Get Scarlett Johansson’s Sexy-Sleek Look

imageFor the ceremony announcing her as the new face of Mango, Scarlett Johansson rocked a super sleek style that had a bit of a sexy edge. Scarlett paired a flutter sleeve satin top with a waist cinching black skirt- both from Mango. She completed the look with a funky pair of snakeskin shoes, gold bangles, and a large ring on her index finger. This ensemble perfectly complemented Scarlett’s incredible figure so keeping the accessories to a minimum was definitely a wise move- it would have just been overkill otherwise. This outfit is the perfect day-to-night look and is classy, chic, and subtly sexy. Check out my SLIDESHOW to get the look!

Get Michelle Trachtenberg’s Offbeat-Chic Look

imageAt the New York City premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, actress Michelle Trachtenberg showcased her fun, funky, and slightly edgy personal style. Michelle wasn’t afraid to mix it up, playing with proportions and funky accessories to create this fabulous look. She kept it sleek and sophisticated on tip with a belted blouse from Tucker underneath a TopShop boyfriend blazer, and added a bit of an edge to the look on the bottom with American Apparel spandex pants and funky Giuseppe Zanotti booties. A Kooba chain strap bag, bright green earrings from Rarities by Carol Brodie, and sleek black bangle rounded out the mix for a perfectly put-together offbeat-chic ensemble. Hot In The Hive: Jules Smith Twilight Jewelry

imageGet your wallets ready, Twilighters! Jewelry designer Gina Nigrelli of Jules Smith designs has recently released a vampire-inspired collection in the light of the upcoming release of Twilight’s sequel. As of now, the New Moon collection features an Edward’s Smile necklace, a Jacob’s Nemesis bracelet, and a Bella’s Good Luck Charm bracelet, each bearing a toothy vampire grin charm of either silver, gold, or gunmetal. Unfortunately for Team Jacob fans like myself, hand-carved wolves are nowhere in sight (though I guess there’s no point in wearing a wooden charm unless Jacob’s the one fastening it to your wrist), but the collection’s current pieces are still pretty sweet — edgy, yet dainty enough to avoid being too tacky (or too creepy).

Price: $20-$65

Leighton Meester Wears Chris & Jaime Collection In NYC

image“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester was spotted in NYC wearing a slouchy top and rolled shorts from Chris & Jaime Collection. It’s not the most exciting outfit by any means, but it just goes to show that she’s equally adorable whether in character as the impeccably dressed Blair Waldorf or off-duty in a pared-down look. The rolled slouchy shorts ($165) and “Be Square” top ($77) are available at Poppy NYC. The shorts are a cute albeit expensive alternative to the ubiquitous denim cutoffs, but you can still get the Leighton’s look- yes, even if you aren’t actually a successful television starlet. Just be sure to add sleek accessories (Leighton’s are by Chloe and Jimmy Choo) and you’ll avoid looking like you just left the gym. Click the slideshow to see our picks!

Influential International Style: Chloe Sevigny

imageChloe Sevigny knows what she’s doing. She’s best known for her roles on Big Love and in Boys Don’t Cry, but also just as well-known for always looking cool and chic both on and off the red carpet. Though American-born, she seems to possess a European grace and polish to her clothing choices. As the face of fragrance for the house of Chloe, I know I’m not the only one that recognizes her subtle glamour. Her trick? Wearing neutrals and patterns that don’t overcome her own beauty, and keeping her hair long and loose. To get her look, choose individual pieces with wonderful detail like scalloping or a reserved lace. Check out my slideshow for Chloe Sevigny style tricks! Photo credit: PR Photos

Get Flirtatious Lashes with New Lash Extension Treatments!

imageEyelash extension treatments are this year’s “it” beauty treatment. It’s a semi-permanent extension that gives your lashes a huge lift – without makeup! Just imagine, having long, gorgeous, flirty lashes for a few months. The initial treatment can take two hours run up to $500, but it’s totally worth it for a fantastic look sans makeup. Madonna’s have diamond studs on them and cost around $10,000, while Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan opt for the much subtler mink version. For a less serious commitment, you can get a semi-permanent lash extension for $50 that lasts around ten days – perfect for a special occasion or vacation. For $45, I Love My Lashes offers an at-home treatment, which takes about thirty minutes to apply, and lasts up to fifteen days. Why not get a few girlfriends together and make a night of it? It’s practically the same costs as cabs and a night out! Don’t trust yourself? Check lashpros.com to find a professional near you!

Which Of Emma Watson’s Event Ensembles Is Most Enchanting?

imageWhen she’s not busy burying her nose in spell books, donning dress robes, and getting all “teenage-angsty” over a not-quite-budding romance with Ron Weasley, Emma Watson is quite the young fashion icon. Known for her love of Chanel eveningwear, her buddy-buddiness with Karl Lagerfeld, and her role as Burberry’s fresh fall face, Emma seems to have the whole “effortlessly elegant” look down pat. And now with “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in full media swing, she’s charming big-screen audiences and red carpet rompers alike with her collection of captivating big-night dresses. From Hogwarts to Hollywood and beyond, not even the Sectumsempra curse could stop her style-savviness! Vote below on which of Hermione’s many outfits you find most bewitching! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Influential International Style: Lily Allen

imageLily Allen, pop’s talkative, oversharing princess, is a serious style maven. Showing a clear penchant for luxury brands like Chanel, Prada and Yves San Laurent, yet comfortable wearing Chucks and a cartoonish headband with them, she certainly has a look all her own. In the same way that Madonna did in the 1980’s, Lily Allen is probably owed back royalties for style “ideas” taken and mass-produced at Urban Outfitters. How does she do it? She starts with a beautiful piece, no matter if it’s a gorgeous top or a fantastic prom-style dress. She brightens the outfit with colored accessories and bold, thick bling.
