Get Vampire Diaries’ Actress Kayla Ewell’s Hot Pink Party Look!

image“Vampire Diaries” actress Kayla Ewell isn’t afraid to rock hot pink on the red carpet. The dress she donned at a special screening of “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” at the 2009 AFI Fest Opening Night Gala is proof that you can wear neons and metallics in the same outfit without looking like you’re headed to a rave. The dress (which I am unfortunately unable to identify, despite a frantic Google search) was part pink, part pared-down, thus providing an ideal backdrop for her stunning accessory of choice: a pile of knotted, dangling silver chains. Black nail polish and a silver clutch added the party-perfect finishing touches. The main point to remember in making this look work is to keep a balance- the metallic part of the dress was on the matte side, while the necklace brought a flashy element. LimeLife Spots Suri Cruise Wearing Heels Again!

imageSeriously? We don’t understand what’s going on. Does Katie Holmes think this is cute? Honestly, we’re concerned for any child that’s allowed to be out and about wearing high heel shoes. And Suri Cruise is wearing them again. When we were kids, we all had those little sparkly plastic high heels. We’d wear them while playing dress-up, walk horribly in them, and throw them off. But Suri Cruise is already a high-heel walking expert at age three. Do you think this is a good thing or is it horribly inappropriate? At least Suri’s heels weren’t as high this time and they seemed to fit her a bit better (the last ones were way too big), but how many pairs of high heels does Suri have? With so many cute pairs of kid’s flats out there, we don’t get why Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise allow Suri to wear heels. She’ll have plenty of time for that! What do you think of Suri Cruise’s shoe habit? Go visit our friends over at LimeLife to weigh in!

Style Flashback: Buffy From “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”

imageGoth never looked quite as good as it did on Sarah Michelle Gellar as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” She kicked some serious butt with some serious style. Buffy rocked black and leather like nobody’s business, and the sultry bad-girl look she sported on the show landed her one of the hottest vampires on the small screen (we love you, Angel). We wanted some tips on how to re-create Buffy’s look, and Lemondrop’s fashion expert Brian answered the call. Brian says, “Buffy was edgy without being too over the top; sexy without showing too much skin — and that’s the reason she was always so stylin’. She straddled the line between kick-ass vampire slayer and regular teenager by mixing textures and styles to create a unique, am-I-dangerous-or-not look.” Click over to Lemondrop to see how you can update her iconic 90s look.

Video Style Steal: Alicia Keys Is Sad But Sultry In “Doesn’t Mean Anything”

imageAlicia Keys has quite a lot of success under her belt for a woman at 28 (but then again, what else would you expect from a girl who was accepted into Columbia when she was 16?), with her shelf full of Grammy awards and four chart-topping studio albums. Aside from her musical growth (and ascending movie career), we’ve also seen quite a progression in her hairdo — from neat braids to unruly curls and now sleek and straight in her latest video, “Doesn’t Mean Anything.” But her hair isn’t the only thing that’s polished and chic. In a sparkly tunic, Alicia is classy as usual, and while she may be mournful and lonely in the video, I know I’d be much more cheerful if I had a hot pair of stiletto boots like hers! Check the slideshow to see some Alicia-inspired looks from her latest hit vid.

Go Classic Glam Like Gwen Stefani

imageFor the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars in New York City, rocker Gwen Stefani was her usual fashionable and fabulous self but took went for a more subdued, sophisticated style. Gwen wore a halter LBD and added some shape to the look by cinching the waist with a black belt. She finished the look with black patent pumps, a black LAMB clutch, and a dazzling Lorraine Schwartz bracelet. This look was polished, chic, and sexy but in a subtle way. And unlike most of Gwen’s ensembles, it’s totally wearable and can work beautifully on anyone, no matter what your age or size.

Lindsay, Shakira, And Mischa Glam It Up At The Whitney Gala

imageThe red carpet was certainly rolled out last Monday night at the annual Whitney Musuem Gala for its parade of high-profile attendees from across the film, fashion, and art industries. While guests like Shakira, Chanel Iman, and Alexa Chung discussed their own artistic talents (or lack thereof) over filet mignon appetizers, drooled over Gerard Butler, and listened to Jennifer Hudson’s show-stopping mid-dinner performance, other gala-goers couldn’t help but just people-watch. After all, Lindsay Lohan was quite a… vision in that daringly short gold dress. And Taylor Momsen’s thigh-high slit complete with fishnet stockings was an interesting sight in the context of such a black-tie affair. Both were reportedly mistaken for the event’s host, Donatella Versace — which can either be perceived as somewhat of a compliment or… not so much. Rock Out Like Rihanna For Halloween!

imageThis Halloween, I thought our favorite Barbadian songstress Rihanna would be a great inspiration for a costume. What better time to unleash the diva in you and get adventurous with your clothing? Rihanna is always wearing something experimental, fashion forward and never cookie cutter. My costume inspiration for Rihanna is from a tour she did last year which is a little less daring than her current outfits, but you’ll be surprised at how many pieces of clothing that’s already in your closet you can use! Start off with a shiny silver bustier or corset like the one I found from Charlotte Russe. Add a pair of liquid leggings or faux leather pants, leather boots, black fingerless gloves and a few chunky silver cuffs and you’re set! If you don’t have Rihanna’s signature sleek short black hair, grab a wig and style it appropriately. Take a peek at my slideshow to see how you can become Rihanna (without all the drama, of course). Best part is, nothing in my slideshow is over $50! Photo credit: PR Photos

Twilight Star Ashley Greene’s Lessons In Fashion

imageRemember when we saw Ashley Greene as a fashion correspondant for MTV’s Video Music Awards and we thought, “Wow, she’s good!”? Well, she hasn’t always been quite the fashionista. Ashley Greene opens up about some of her biggest fashion mistakes. So, what was her biggest fashion mistake? She tells MTV it was in 2006 when she attended the Hollywood Life magazine party. She wore a white midriff-bearing top with jeans and suspenders. Oh, Ashley! That sounds like something from the ’80s or early ’90s and definitely not 2006. But at least Ashley has changed her fashion since she’s become such a big Twilight star. Ashley Greene is in the public eye all the time now, so someone is always watching to see what she’s wearing. And Ashley’s favorite outfit so far was worn just two years after her major faux pas. In 2006, she wore a little black dress with a pleated bottom and a pair of Jimmy Choos. Head on over to our friends at LimeLife to read the rest!
