Jennifer Lopez Talks Motherhood, Heartbreak, And Her Career In February’s Elle

imageJennifer Lopez is most definitely back, and if you’d like some proof, you can find it in next month’s Elle issue where the actress, singer, and mother reveals much more than what her sexy cover shot would suggest. In the issue the star talks motherhood (she gave birth to twins Max and Emme almost two years ago!), betrayal (she’s had her fair share, she says), and what it was like hosting a dinner for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, saying “She didn’t realize what she was going to symbolize. And it’s always scary to be thrown into it — that’s what I felt like when I did Selena. You’re thrown out there, and all of a sudden you’re not anonymous. You are now known. And that’s a lot to handle.” Sounds like this star is accustomed to handling quite a bit, and gracefully at that. Check Out Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger, The Cast Of “Glee,” And More At The People’s Choice Awards!

imageWhen a televised award show has the word choice in the title, you have to know from the get-go that anything goes. Among the night’s big winners were Sandra Bullock, Lady GaGa, Glee (yippee!), and of course, just about everything Twilight (love love love Taylor Lautner, but really?). But despite a majority of much-deserved and no-brainer wins, when Miley Cyrus is given an award for best breakout actress, you just gotta take the trophies with a few thousand grains of salt. One thing that’s hard to disagree with, however, is the fact that the red carpet provided plenty of diversity. With everything from tight tube minis like Taylor Swift’s to Carrie Underwood’s A-line netted number, the show’s attendees switched things up and took chances — many of them even donning the traditionally frowned-upon winter white. Check out the slideshow for some of the show’s A-list appearances and their ensembles. Photo credit: PR Photos

Video Style Steal: Leighton Meester is Stylishly Seductive In “Somebody To Love”

imageIf you’re not familiar with the fact that our favorite Gossip Girl Leighton Meester has been making a name for herself in the music scene, you need to get yourself out from under that rock! If not for the love of guilty pleasure tunes, then at least for the sake of scoping out her killer music video getups! But if you’re expecting preppy-chic Blair Waldorf style, you’re in for a rude awakening. Leighton leaves her buttoned-up TV alter ego for a more seductive style in mini dresses, over-the-knee boots, and plenty of blue eyeshadow and swaps Chuck Bass for Robin Thicke (lucky girl!). While the video is pretty provocative, some of the looks (that actually involve clothing) are pretty covetable… then again, Leighton could probably make even a cardboard box look splurge-worthy. Click “See Video” to watch “Somebody to Love,” then look at the slideshow for some wearable interpretations of the outfits! Photo Credit: Vh1.com

Madonna Cleans Up In The New D&G Ad!

imageShe may have been dismissed from Louis Vuitton, but Madonna didn’t waste any time getting another high-fashion gig. This time she’s playing a sexy Italian housewife in a Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign. I have a feeling Madonna doesn’t generally participate in any of the activities she’s seen doing in her new ads. For instance, washing dishes? Peeling onions? Even eating pasta. Something tells me Madonna just doesn’t do a whole lot of household chores. Nor does she eat a lot of carbs. But she sure looks good doing all these things in the ads! In fact, I would say the 51-year-old looks younger and prettier than ever! And she certainly has the perfect cleavage! The ads are for the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign and were photographed by Steven Klein. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have said, “to have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true.” Do you think she’ll help the brand sell? Check back with our friends at LimeLife for a slideshow of Madonna through the years!

Make Sequins Sexy and Sophisticated Like Nikki Reed

imageNew Moon star Nikki Reed hit the red carpet of the Hamilton Awards looking absolutely dazzling. Sequins are going strong this season and Nikki put her own spin on the look, pairing a gold Nanette Lepore sequined dress with a vintage tuxedo blazer. She added a bit more glitz to the the standout look with diamond bracelets by Dana Rebecca Designs and rounded out the mix with sexy zipper pumps and a sleek clutch (both from Jimmy Choo). This look is perfect for just about any holiday fete, from an office party to a cocktail party. The key thing to remember when rocking something sequined is to keep the rest of the look fairly basic.

Which “Nine” Actress Stole The Show At The Film’s NYC Premiere?

imageI’ll be the first to raise my hand proudly and declare myself a musical theater nerd, not to mention a total film buff, so you can imagine how anxious I am for the theatrical release of “Nine” this month! And the one thing that I’m even more excited to see than the movie itself is the star-studded red carpet! As expected, the ensemble cast made for a stellar premiere night, including those involved in the making of the long-anticipated musical and fellow industry bigwigs eager to see the knock-out cast in action! As far as fashion was concerned, it seemed to be a mostly black and white affair — from Marion Cotillard and Fergie’s white floor-length gowns to Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman’s dazzling black minis — while Penelope Cruz stood out by contrast in gorgeously draped crimson. Their onscreen characters may be vying for protagonist Guido Contini’s attention and affection, but on the red carpet, it’s purely a battle of the big-night gowns! Vote below on which star was most impressively decked-out! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Trade In Your Winter Coat For A Cape Like Blake Lively

imageIt’s already mid-December and your little leather jacket, no matter how many sweaters you wear underneath, just doesn’t cut it anymore. You’re left looking for a new statement winter coat, something that’s beyond your basic pea coat or sporty fleece. Your coat, after all, is often one of the only things people see you in during the winter months, so you might as well make it something special. This season, celebs like Blake Lively and Natalie Portman have been spotted doing there holiday shopping in the ever-so-chic cape coat. With its retro feel, it’s the perfect addition to your outerwear wardrobe. For a sportier, more practical look, try a short hip-length cape that works fabulously with a cozy scarf and jeans. If that’s still too basic or you’re really going for that “wow” factor, get a longer, more draped cape coat that will add a glam, retro feel to any party dress. Check out the slideshow for 5 capes for your shopping pleasure.

Madonna VS Lara Stone: Which Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign Is Your Favorite?

imageWhen Marc Jacobs, creative director of Louis Vuitton, decided to use Madonna as the face and body to represent the 2009 S/S collection, some people were surprised by his unconventional choice. Was Madonna really the right person to showcase the latest Louis Vuitton collection? Why not go with the hottest model at the moment, or maybe even someone a little younger? Others, such as myself, think that Madonna was a great choice. Sure, she’s a little more ripped than the average woman, but with the wonders of Photoshop, Madonna manages to add a softness to the edgy feel of her Louis Vuitton F/W 2009 Ad Campaign. All those pilates and yoga classes didn’t hurt either, with her effortlessly flexible poses that helped to really showcase the collection. However, the new face (and, um, body) of the latest Louis Vuitton S/S 2010 campaign is model-of-the-moment Lara Stone. Her Brigitte Bardot aura and more voluptuous figure make her a perfect choice and her ad campaign is both ethereal and powerful. The only thing I think that Madonna has on her? That crazy flexibility and unique poses that really let you see the collection. Lara Stone’s ad campaign will be featured in magazines in February 2010, but we’ll let you take a small sneak peek. Just take the poll below and let us know who you like better as the face of Louis Vuitton!

Whitney Port Reveals Her Daily Beauty Routine

imageRecently, star of “The City” and fashion designer Whitney Port revealed her daily beauty routine secrets to fans on her official blog. I think she’s a beautiful girl who always manages to achieve a fresh, pretty glow without looking overdone, so I was admittedly curious to see precisely which products she uses. I did my best to track down each product (most are available at Sephora.com), so hopefully I got the right ones. Note: Whitney did not specify which Maybelline mascara she uses, so I linked to my personal fave, Define-A-Lash. Read on to catch Whitney’s step by step beauty routine, brought to you by The Budget Babe.
