Behind the Scenes – Kate Moss for Vogue Eyewear

imageKate Moss is one of my big style icons and I love this behind the scenes action of her photoshoot with photographer, Mario Testino, for an upcoming Vogue Eyewear campaign that was shot last September.

No wonder she’s been spotted these last few months with these oh so stylish sunglasses! WWD reports that the ads will be revealed on the Vogue Eyewear site next week. I love the black frame glasses she’s wearing in addition to all the stylish sunglasses!

Lauren Hutton – Fabulous Fashion Fairy Godmother

imageFrom working with Richard Avedon and Diana Vreeland, to starring in Tom Ford’s recent fashion show, longtime uber-model Lauren Hutton has enjoyed one of the fashion industry’s most enduring careers.

‘I became a model to see the world, to make enough money to travel and experience other cultures,’ she explains in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar. ‘I knew I had to get to New York to get to Africa.’

And with a career spanning almost five decades and well into her mid-60s, she posed for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s 2008 lookbook.

‘I think I was 64 at the time and they were 22. I thought that was fantastically hip. I did it, and they paid me in clothes, which is great,’ she notes, showing off the jeans and workmans shirt she’s wearing – both from the Row.

Adds Ashley, ‘She stays true to herself. I think that’s what’s reflected in her photographs,’ says Ashley, to which M-K adds – ‘She took a chance on a brand that no one knew just because she liked it. We think of her as our fairy godmother.’

Get The Winning Look From Our ‘Golden Globes After-Party’ Celeb Poll!

imageWinning by a landslide for our Golden Globes After-party poll, Mila Kunis proves that she knows style! A glittering bloussant top with a plunging neckline is quite the statement piece and Mila wisely chose to let it take center stage.

She keeps the look chic by pairing the sparkling top with sleek black skinny pants and a pair of sexy, classic black pumps. A simple, loose up-do completes the look and Mila was smart to wear no jewelry, letting no other superfluous accessories compete with her show-stopping blouse.

Smoldering smoky eyes and a rosy pink lip added further sex appeal without being over the top.

Street Style – Channeling The Olsens!

imageWho doesn’t absolutely adore the Olsen twins? We’ve watched them grow up into beautiful young women who have a real knack for fashion. Their unique styles and successful labels, Elizabeth & James and The Row, have made them into fashion darlings that we just can’t get enough of (Karl Lagerfeld loves them!).

The greatest thing about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s style is that it’s wearable and comfortable while being undeniable stylish and fashion forward. To emulate the Olsen’s look, think black, oversized and extreme silhouettes. Plus a fearless attitude when it comes to clothes!

Here are a few key pieces to try that’ll help you adopt that Olsen vibe! Just don’t forget your Starbucks cup!

Oversized Draped Tops – Whether it’s a large tee, or a voluminous sweater, a draped and worn in look is the quintessential Olsen topper!

Massive Bag – Huge bags (and sunglasses!) are signature add-ons for these girls! If it looks like you could live in it, you’re on the right track!

Leather(ette) Skinnys – Sleek and tough, these edgy bottoms give a rocker vibe to any ensemble! Plus, they perfectly balance out the oversized tops and purses!

Wide-Leg Pants – When not in black leggings or pants, these girls often go towards the other extreme and don flowing, wide leg trousers. A frilly white button down is their favorite pairing with these bottoms!

Faux Fur – The bigger and shaggier the better! The large fur vests and stoles worn with casual pieces make for an extremely chic but effortless look!

Chunky Accessories – Think thick chains and cuffs, multiple rings with large stones and many many long layered necklaces. A little gothic, a little romantic rocker … a lot of fashion savvy!

Celebrity Look for Less – Dakota Fanning’s Poncho

imageHere’s a look you can wear whether you’re 17 or 70 – the cable knit poncho like the one recently photographed on Dakota Fanning at the Los Angeles International Airport. (I want a red bag like hers, too!)

If it’s cut properly, it won’t overwhelm petite figures, and it won’t cause excess bulk over fuller figures. The one she€™s wearing is by All Saints, and you can get the look for less!

Celeb Poll – Which Star Stunned At The Golden Globes After-Party?

imageWe all tuned in for the Golden Globes, formed our own opinions on best and worst dressed, and cheered when our picks for best in category won. But when the main televised event is over, it’s the exclusive after-parties that steal the show!

The W Magazine after party was a popular one with Mila Kunis and Olivia Wilde both making an appearance. Mila kept it shiny but sleek in black skinny pants and a sparkling tunic with plunging neckline. Classic black pumps and a casual up-do let the glittery number take center stage!

Olivia Wilde showed up in a long, gold Grecian-inspired gown with a fitted top giving it a more modern vibe. Minimal makeup and jewelry plus loose bangs complete the look.

Only a little further away, self-proclaimed princess, Paris Hilton made an appearance at the NBC afterparty in a sheer pink, sparkling, one-shoulder gown fit for … well … a princess! A pretty up-do and matching clutch added to the look.

While all these celebs looked amazing, there can only be one winner! So who do you think looked the best at their Golden Globes after-party? Let us know by taking the poll below!

And check in on Tuesday when we tell you how to get the winning look for yourself!

Beauty Pick Me Up – Get ‘Golden Globes’ Gorgeous!

imageWe’re sure that many of you, like us, watched the Golden Globes over the weekend and while hearing the speeches and seeing who won is very exciting, the best part of the Golden Globes is to see all the beautiful celebrity looks!

While floor sweeping gowns and necklaces dripping with diamonds are wonderful to behold, there aren’t many places and occasions for us to go to dressed in our red carpet best. But one thing we can borrow from the Golden Globes and try for ourselves is all the gorgeous make-up looks!

We’ve found three amazing makeup styles that we’re dying to try for ourselves and we’re telling you how to get it here! Take a look at our celeb beauty tips!

Halle Berry’s Deep Smoky Eye – A sexy, sultry look for any night out! Prep eyelids with a shadow primer to make sure your smoky eye stays smudged just the way you want it, and doesn’t later become a ‘panda eye’!

Sweep on a matte shadow of dark brown or a grey black over the lids and blend outwards. Choose a soft black liner and line along the top and bottom of eyes.

Blend with the provided smudge tip, focusing on smudging the corners outwards to create a more smoldering effect. Brush on your favorite volumizing mascara.

Emma Stone’s Glowing Neutrals – Make your eyes pop while keeping a natural look! Sweep on a pale champagne shimmer over the lids and up to the brow bone. Sweep a light bronze or sheer gold over lids, focusing more saturation in the crease.

With a freshly sharpened liner or gel liner, line the top of lids and half of the lower rim, making sure to connect the line of the top lid and bottom lid to create a small cat-eye. Curl lashes and brush on a layer of lengthening mascara to complete the look!

Carrie Underwood’s Luscious Lashes – Bat your lashes with this sexy, flirty look! Choose a light neutral tone and sweep onto lids and brow bone. Focus a darker taupe in the creases and line lids with a thin line of liner, both top and bottom.

Curl lashes and brush on a lengthening mascara that will separate lashes as well. Let it set for 60 seconds, and brush on a coat of volumizing mascara. Let is set for another 60 seconds and brush on a second coat of volumizing mascara. Use one coat of lengthening and one coat of volumizing for bottom lashes.

Gwen Stefani Is New Face of L’Oreal Paris

imageIn a move that will have red-lipstick mavens nationwide cheering, L’Oreal Paris has announced the signing of Gwen Stefani as the mass-market giant’s new face.

‘I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oreal Paris girls. I love playing dress up, on stage or shooting videos, it’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band,’ the platinum blonde told People.

The first collaborative ad will be – appropriately enough – for Infallible Le Rouge Lip Color, a long-lasting soft-shine lipstick that comes in a full smattering of every shade of the beauty rainbow. We’re placing bets that the retro-fabulous Ravishing Red will be the songstress’ shade of choice in her debut.

According to WWD, the collection will be at specialty stores and better department stores and prices will range from $250 for a day dress to $700 for a full tuxedo look. The line will also include handbags and from the two showcased in the photos, I’m already in love.

The collection’s looks are tailored and are very 70’s bohemian, the style we have come to love Rachel for.
