Water Bottle + Light = Bottlelight

Here is a simple formula that helps to reduce your luggage load while camping. The Bottlelight combines portable UV water purifier with a camping light. The bottle saves space and merges two essential must-haves. The carabineer on the top adds to the portability and dash of functionality.

How it works:

  • The top consists of two pressure casted aluminum parts with an inner sealing.
  • These become a watertight housing for the PCB, the battery and the UV and LED light unit.
  • A USB port can charge the battery for 10 hours of 30 Lumen while the 45° reflector at the bottom provides a plain and not reflecting light source.

Stay Warm With Ceramics

The Yutanpo “water bottle” aims to solve many of the issues with emergency heating elements of its kind by utilizing the unique properties of ceramic. The updated design is not only thinner and lighter than metal version, but safer and more comfortable thanks to the material’s low heat conductivity to the user’s skin. Easily stored, heated and reheated, it’s near perfect for keeping warm when the power goes out!

Wrapped Around My Finger

The Zero is yet another bottle packaging design that looks at extracting the very last drop of its contents. We saw a similar toothpaste design that used centrifugal force to drive all the toothpaste towards the mouth. The question here is, does this concept work or should designers put back their thinking caps and come up with something different? What do you say?

Three Times The Suds

The 3in1 is an efficient refill container for your bathroom toiletries. The container features three different dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and bathing gel. The packaging is innovative in the sense that you can have sequential use of your products and at the same time have a bottle that uses lesser space. Kinda neat like the multicolored 5-in-1 pens I have with me!

Drinkable Sea Water

Before you scream ‘absurd’, let me tell you that I am talking about Puri – a sea water desalinating bottle. There are several ways to remove saline from sea water, for example evaporation, vapor-pressure, and ion-exchange membrane method but all of them are not practical for use on a life raft or rescue boat and require big equipments. The Puri on the other hand is a slim portable bottle that works with a pumping action. Take a look at its video below.

Puri is a 2013 IDEA Design Awards entry.

A Better Bottle

The Harue represents a better bottling design that connects with the emotional aspect of natural spring and mineral waters. Although reusable bottles like the Bobble or Kor are being recommended these days, a large segment still uses packaged drinking water that comes in low quality bottles. The Harue hopes to add the emotional quotient so that you get encouraged to re-use it at home. I know I’d use it!
