Dezeen Watch Store: Eclipse, the latest timepiece from Ziiiro, has a luminous ring in place of hour markers and is now in stock in three colour variations.

As with previous watches from the brand, Eclipse dispenses with conventional time-telling techniques. In place of the typical hands, the watch has two markers that seem to float above a ring on the dial.

One marker is slightly larger than the other, allowing them to pass over each other and for the wearer to differentiate between hours and minutes.

The luminescent ring on the dial is filled with a patented Swiss pigment called Super-LumiNova that can be powered by sunlight or artificial light and glows in the dark. This means that Eclipse can easily be read at any time of the day or night.

The 38-millimetre stainless steel case is topped with a hardened mineral crystal lens and the watch is powered by Japanese Miyota movement.

A comfortable rubber strap with a metal buckle completes the timepiece.

Hong Kong-based Ziiiro launched in 2010. The brand adheres to futuristic and minimalist principles inspired by the philosophy “zero buttons, zero loose parts, zero numbers.”

Eclipse is available in three colour variations: grey, snow and black.

Dezeen Watch Store: a selection of men’s watches from the new military-inspired collection by Nixon are now available at Dezeen Watch Store.

The new collection includes The Corporal SS, a hardwearing, stainless steel timepiece with bold, military-inspired indices that are designed to be read at a glance. The large 48-millimetre case is finished with a raised bezel and a hardened mineral crystal lens.

Designed with everyday wear in mind, The Sentry SS has a solid stainless steel case with a screw-down case back and spring pin lugs. Other features include a day and date window, applied hour indices and printed second markers.

The final watch in our collection is The Qutaro, which has a distinctive brushed stainless steel checkerboard strap. The motif is repeated on the 36-millimetre square dial; the alternating textured finish adds depth to the timepiece. A stainless steel case, applied hour indices and a gasket crown complete the watch.

Each watch comes with removable links, allowing the strap to be adjusted to fit the wearer.

Nixon is a California-based lifestyle brand specialising in watches, accessories and audio products and was founded by Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna in 1997. The duo wanted to create durable watches that could be worn during active outdoor pursuits, including skating, skiing and surfing.

Dezeen Watch Store: Titan, the first digital pocket watch from Ziiiro, is now in stock in five distinctive colours.

Titan is a lightweight pocket watch from the Hong Kong-based watch brand. The detachable black metal chain strap enables the timepiece to be worn as a pocket watch or as a pendant.

As with previous Ziiiro watches, the Titan dispenses with conventional time-telling techniques, replacing numbers with an LCD display. The face includes an outer ring which is divided into 12 segments, representing hours elapsed. The inner ring is divided into 60, each representing a minute. The inner graphic changes orientation from am to pm.

Although inspired by a classic style, the Titan continues to explore the Ziiiro approach: zero buttons, zero loose parts and zero numbers.

The 48 milimetres case is made from anodised aluminium and is available in five colours: cherry, black, azure, chrome and purple.

Competition: we’re now stocking the Minuteman timepieces with bioplastic cases by Hong Kong brand squarestreet at Dezeen Watch Store, and we have five for readers to win.

Squarestreet has released its first watch range, designed by Alexis Holm and David Ericsson.

The Minuteman comes in two different versions. The first is a standard two-hand model that highlights the hour with a circular tip.

The second has a gas-meter style face and a single hand that moves every five minutes.

Each hand-made outer casing is fabricated from cellulose acetate, which comes in solid orange or black plus translucent shades including grey, tortoise, honey and green.

A stainless steel pressure case surrounds the mechanism so the watch is waterproof and can withstand dives down to 30 metres.

The watches come with either a black or white face and straps in patterned or plain leather and nylon, in a multitude of colours – see the full range here.

Winners can select either the Minuteman One Hand or Two Hand face style and specify which colour they would like to receive.
