Talia Radford’s futuristic water purifier

0radford.jpg

Industrial designer Talia Radford’s unusual-looking AquaIris water purifier concept, meant to be slung over a shoulder and carried with a strap, uses no electricity or conventional charcoal filters; instead a grid of “converter crystals”–lenses, really–is intended to focus the sun’s rays into an ultraviolet frequency that blasts the water molecules clean without affecting its taste.

Is the science behind it sound? No idea, but darn if this thing ain’t purty.
