Robert Stadler

Some fairly unusual new work from Robert Stadler. It’s a whole set of funiture that was designed to look accidental, but actually be ergonomic. He mixes glossy, more ridgid surfaces with softer, matte, upolstered pieces. I also like his ‘Gold Dipped’ pen.

FORMation Design Apps

FORMation Alliance sent over a couple of design related iPhone apps, great way to nerd out on designy stuff when you’re away from your computer.

The first is a colour matching game that provides a coloured dot that has to be matched using RGB sliders. Pretty cool, clever reference to Ishihara color test plates. The second, KERN, involves lining up letters to fit into words that slowly drop from the top of the screen. Points are awarded according to accuracy and the point size of the dropping words.

If the above image just looks like a collection of circles (i.e. you don’t see any letters) I suggest that you consult your optometrist asap.

ReubenMiller’s Got a Brand-Spanking New Look!

I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that we’ve got a fresh new look for the blog. After a lot of coding, tweaking and generally making a mess of CSS, I’ve managed to get it to look half-decent (let me know what you think of it!) It still remains a work-in-progress. The goal of this redesign was to make it easier to get around and add some more color. After all, you know we’re suckers for color!

Last but not least, our large header incorporates the work of a featured artist. We’ll be featuring different artists in that space and rotating them over time to keep things interesting. This isn’t a sponsored spot, but rather a testament to our support of great artists. Our first feature is of the brilliant and witty Simon Oxley, one of our all-time favorites.

Enjoy!

Walls Notebook

An interesting notebook with blank city walls instead of blank pages.

Momiji Doll

See what toys do to you!

A 40-year-old Merseyside man who stole more than £780,000 from his employer and used it to buy collectable toys has been jailed for three years.

David Moore, of Segars Lane, Southport, cashed company checks and used the money to buy boxes of collectable toys known as Kidrobot or Dunnys.
