Hot In The Hive: She Hit Pause Studios Pin-Up Girl Photos By Matt Schwartz

imageToday’s pin-up girl isn’t posed. She’s not perfectly manicured, makeup-ed and primped. She’s not innocently provocative, but casually provocative. She’s unknowingly gorgeous, yet very sure of herself. She’s playful and shameless. Being naked clothed, or covered in gumballs is all the same to her. She sees both sunshine and rain and is just fine being in either one. She’s not always happy, nor is she always sad, but she’s beautiful no matter the mood. Thanks to original Matt Schwartz’s Polaroid snapshots that he captured for She Hit Pause Studios, today’s pin-up girl is ours to admire. The images are such true artistic reality that no matter how raw it seems for her to be lying naked alongside a mirror, or how insignificant she seems as her head bobs out of a massive pool of dark water, she’s still virtuous, flawless, robust. Enjoy the dynamic display of Schwartz’s latest collection of today’s pin-up girl in this slideshow and pick up a few prints for contemporary, femme-foward home!

Price: $65.00 each

Banana Republic the Latest Offer Celebrity Designer Line with Chan Luu Jewelry

0521brchan.jpg

Target‘s done it again and again. Puma was there with the late Alexander McQueen. J. Crew has launched a whole new wing of it. And even Gap has dipped their toes into the hiring celebrity designers trend. Now it’s one of their subsidiaries’ turn, as Banana Republic has announced that they will be carrying a line of accessories by someone other than their branded selves. The designer in question for this first foray is Chan Luu, who will be creating a short run of bracelets for BR. Here are the details:

The collection showcases Chan Luu’s signature wrap style, which brings together custom-dyed thread or leather with unique semi-precious stones, gold or sterling silver. The 17-piece collection consists of four different styles in a range of colors. The bracelets will cost from $95 to $225.

The collection will be sold exclusively at Edition and will debut at an event honoring the store’s one-year anniversary. It will then be rolled out to select stores in the U.S., Canada and Japan and online in the U.S. only beginning August 10.

Edition is Banana Republic’s accessories-only shop in San Francisco.

Workspace of the Week: Two to tango

This week’s Workspace of the Week is OrsonKent’s shared home office:

Regular readers of Unclutterer know I have a fascination with shared desk space. It’s difficult to share a home, and 5,000 times more difficult to share an office and desk. This week’s workspace beautifully solves all those difficulties. From OrsonKent’s description:

The work area I share with Marie. One very new 15″ MacBookPro, one very old 17″ Powerbook.

The power bricks, multi-board, and external hard drive are all in a cable tray that lives under the desk next to the wall.

The desk lamp can be angled down if I need direct light, but generally we bounce it upwards, as shown, to give indirect light to the area.

A clutter-free, well-designed, functional workspace. Thank you, OrsonKent for your submission to our Flickr pool.

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.
