Homespun Style by Selina Lake

Selina Lake’s latest book is gorgeous. (The book was written with Joanna Simmons and photographed by Debi Treloar)

The Homespun Market and Book Party was lovely. Such a nicely curated selection of high quality crafts for the home. I will share more photos soon, but the time zones and travel have caught up with me and I need some sleep.

Tassenkast by Lotty Linderman

Molto molto belle queste ‘borse’ realizzate con due pannelli laterali in legno e ricoperte da un tessuto. Vengono appese al muro e usate come multi-storage. Design by Lotty Linderman.

Suitcase: Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens from UPPERCASE gallery on Vimeo.

We spent a lovely evening in Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens on April 22. Since it was early in the season, there weren’t many people, but it was marvelously photogenic.

Type Tuesday: Päivälehti Museo, Helsinki

We didn’t go to many museums on our Scandinavian adventure (Glen and I prefer to wander the streets rather than museum halls), but when we were exploring Helsinki’s design district, we found the Päivälehti Museo—a museum of journalism and printing techniques with a focus on Helsingin Sannomat, Finland’s largest newspaper. The museum had excellent displays, but the best part was the printing cellar which had a step-by-step presentation of newspaper production from typesetting and pasteup to printing. Judging by the number of photographs I took, I’d say it was one of the highlights of Helsinki.

Seeing spots: Salt Pepper

These little salt and paper packets were the only good thing about the in-flight meal on the way home from Stockholm. Very UPPERCASE.

Morran

Camilla’s dog, Morran, is at the vet for surgery. Morran is a smart, sensitive and amusing little gal and I was honoured that she chose my lap for a nap one evening. We all wish Morran a speedy recovery!

This woodcut artwork was a gift to Camillla from Lisa Brawn. (We were more than happy to deliver it in person.) Lisa has a fun project underway which I will post about later today.

Type Tuesday: Sweets

Just like plants, pastries always look just a bit more tantalizing in close proximity of nice labels.

Type Tuesday: Rosendals Trädgård

Rosendals was my favourite place in Stockholm. I’ll post this as a “Type Tuesday” for the handwritten labels and notes accompanying their selection of plants: so much nicer than the generic plastic labels we’re used to seeing here.
