Spring has truly arrived in London and as usual the sandals, summer dresses and tans are coming out. Topshop’s new arrivals have got me in a craze for florals, my current picks? The Kate Moss collection’s floral prints, perfect for a weekend jaunt in Brighton or a shopping spree in West End. It’s official florals are in again. We love this vintage rose one via TopShop. Still cold out where you live, but had to have that strappy chiffon number? Layer it up with boots and a cardigan while skies are grey, and when the sunshine returns, you know what to do. Stylehive’s Stylescopes Make Sure You Have This Week In The Bag!

Let’s face it — your week is only going to go well if you’re in the right mindset. And what better way to put yourself in the best mood possible than to equip yourself with a brand new bag! Pretty much any excuse for a new purse purchase is a good one in my mind: promotion at work, nothing matches your wardrobe, some extra cash lying around, a sudden change in weather — whatever makes you feel better and helps you justify a splurge in the name of fashion (and practicality, of course). The bottom line is that your satchel, clutch, tote, or whatever the stars have in store for you, can really make or break an ensemble… and personally I’d rather break the bank than break my outfit (just kidding… sort of)! Having a hard time choosing what carry-all will carry you throughout the week most successfully and stylishly? Let the stars be your guide (and you can add “Stylescopes” to your lists of reasons for making the big purchase)! If you’re a Sagittarius, you may be best suited to keep it compact yet girlie with a ruffled Betsey Johnson clutch, and Cancer girls will get to go bright and springy with a teal basket-weave shoulder bag! Check out the slideshow to see which kind of handbag you’re destined to get your hands on this week!

Explore Spring Trends With Floral And Ethnic Prints

The long awaited arrival of spring means that there are beautiful flowers in bloom and possibilities of travel to far flung locales. Even if those flowers aren’t blooming yet or you have no plans (or the money!) to go to exotic lands, why don’t you bring those inspirations into your wardrobe instead? These days, floral prints are no longer reserved for your grandmother. Celebs like Kate Moss and Jessica Alba have been seen wearing floral prints which were everywhere on the spring 2009 runway shows. My pick for embracing the floral trend is with an abstract floral print skirt from Urban Outfitters. Ethnic prints are all about color and bold designs. Look for traditional prints like the Paisley Smocked Tube Dress from Forever 21. If you’re not really a print wearing person, then try accessorizing with floral bag or a batik print scarf. No one will know you got it online while wearing your pajamas, so you can say you got in years ago in Morocco! Check out the slideshow to see more floral and ethnic prints fit for spring!

Undress A Bit WIth A Short Dress For Prom!

Hey, there, high school party girl! Have you found your prom dress yet? Finding a dress can be stressful, but when all a girl wants to do is have fun, take out the stress and try something a little more … little. A fun short gown is a great way to grab much-wanted attention from the entire student body. Speaking of bodies, while the masses are covered head to toe in a traditional long ballroom gown, flashing those stems is hot way to flaunt your fine figure. Not only will your date be glad you decided to show your sweet-self off, less fabric to your dress means more money in your pocket, as long dresses can tend to be higher priced. A glammed-up gown modeled after the styles of the season’s trendiest cocktail frocks will add playful flair to your prom. So, go ahead, party girl: Make your prom off the hook (or just off like a prom dress- kidding!) with a showy, short dress!

Dress Yourself Up In Stylish Sneakers!

As we enter the spring and summer seasons, more and more men are storing their boots and looking for something that is more comfortable. Enter the fail-safe sneaker. I am not talking about workout sneakers; I am talking about bonafide luxe sneakers that can go well with a pair of khaki shorts just as they do with a soft-shouldered jacket. The trick when picking a pair of fashion kicks is to make them as simple as possible. They should be plain with a little bit of zest. Gucci and Prada always have sneakers that can be dressed up or down, but if you€™re looking for something with a little bit more edge, opt for a pair of Marc Jacobs silver shoes or some patent leather low-tops by Yohji Yamamoto. Here are some sneakers for spring and summer for you to chew on (not literally).

Vintage Fashionistas Are Seeing Red

Christian Louboutin knew a thing or two when he chose to put red soles on his shoes. A study reported in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology says that while red won’t make you look smarter or more confident or more likable, it will make you appear sexier to men. Then there’s the study in Science that says that the color red is the best color when you want to focus. Add in the research examining data from the 2004 Olympics that concluded athletes who wear red uniforms win more often and it’s almost enough to convince a blonde bombshell to become a redhead. Of course, any gal can don one of these red-hot vintage finds and also get on the radar of every available male within staring distance! Just click the slideshow to see the selection.

Who Demonstrated The Most Dreadful D-List Style At Bravo’s A-List Awards?

Bravo’s 2nd Annual A-List Awards, hosted by Kathy Griffin and airing next Wednesday, might want to consider a name change. While its nominees boast undoubtedly elite names like Justin Timberlake (A-List Male Style), Britney Spears (A-List Artist Of The Year), and Zac Posen (A-List Designer), and other front-runners across the whole artistic spectrum, Paris Hilton was probably the closest thing to “A-List” the event’s makeshift red carpet actually saw the whole night (yikes). While I couldn’t help but be delighted by the sight of some of my favorite flamboyant Bravo stars, such as Top Chef’s Fabio Viviani and the Millionaire Matchmaker herself, Patti Stanger, I actually couldn’t help but feel bad for the paparazzi and their lack of interesting subject matter! If it made their jobs anymore exciting, however, some of the event’s pseudo-celebrities and celebutantes looked laughably ridiculous in some ill-fitting garments and “what were they thinking?” ensemble choices. Aubrey O’Day surprisingly left her usual skin-tight hoochie dresses at home and opted for a dress that looked ridiculously too big for her in all the wrong places, and the expectedly stylish Rachel Zoe looked like some kind of creepy couture ghost floating down the carpet with her huge shapeless dress billowing in the wind. Vote below on which attention-seeking red carpet strutter looked the silliest! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Channel A Part-Time Greek Goddess In A Draped Skirt

The Grecian trend is wonderful. Pieces that borrow from this look are so dignified without being over done. The folds of the fabric and the long, luscious styles – particularly evident in goddess dresses – create a floating, ethereal look. And the styles can range from somewhat casual to elegant and more formal. One of the best ways to incorporate this Grecian detailing into an outfit – without making a major trend commitment – is to utilize one of the strong suits of this style: draping. Even a draped skirt is a good place to start. You may not look quite like you could walk out of the heavens on a cloud but hey – even a goddess needs a break! These skirts tend to be somewhat high waisted and look best with a structured top that’s easily tucked in. Consider wearing it with a frilly blouse or even a fitted t-shirt. This look is much more low maintenance than an all-out Grecian-inspired ensemble, but it still easily rises to the occasion! See more on this trend and many others at TheFind.

Retro Sunnies With Throwback Appeal

It seems as though the deeper we get into the 21st century, the more we sample trends from past decades– and it is ever apparent with sunglasses (or as our Aussie folks say, “sunnies”). These days, people look like they are extras in a John Hughes films with their wayfarers or paying homage to Maverick and Goose in “Top Gun” with their aviators. There is nothing wrong with wearing retro specs– especially when today’s top designers are modernizing them to make them look chic and sleek. Tom Ford’s collection of wayfarers leans towards the modern side of cool while French Connection replicates the style with blatant throwback appeal. And although aviators are considered retro, a nice pair can go a long way in a man€™s wardrobe (the Dior aviators are a quite snazzy). If you have problems choosing what color frames to choose, the tortoise hue is the way to go. The black and brown goes with practically any outfit. That said, wrap some of these retro shades around your head.
