Daily Obsesh – Pendleton Meets Opening Ceremony Mens Jacquard Socks

imageIf someone looked at a Navajo blanket through a kaleidoscope, they would find the design on this super awesome sock. Opening Ceremony, the almost nauseatingly hip concept department store found in Tokyo and New York, is working with Pendleton, a nauseatingly hip maker of woolen sartorial treats, to create a capsule collection.

Inspired by tribal designs (much like Pamela Love), together they have created a collection of knit items including these wonderful socks.

The cool thing about socks is their multi-purpose and multi-occasion usage. Whether with Frye Engineer boots at a festival, with Birkenstocks at Burning Man, or by themselves while you’re making coffee in the kitchen, this accessory adds pizzazz to the moment.

Treat your feet! And grab your mama a pair too for Mother’s Day!

Video Style Steal – Beyonce ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’

imageIt’s the queen ‘Bey’! And with one of her latest videos ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’, she reminds us why she’s the number one diva in the game!

In a retro-styled video filmed with era-appropriate graininess, Beyonce parades across the screen in one sexy, 50’s housewife inspired ensemble after another. High waisted short-sets (ok, so we can’t sashay around pants-less, but it’s a great look for swimwear!), cat-eye sunglasses and form fitting sweater and skirt combos transformed the gorgeous songstress from hip and edgy style icon to retro-clad sex kitten.

With her powerful vocals, strong female message and super cute ensembles, we’re inspired to rock the retro look for ourselves! You too? Watch the video then click on the slideshow for some of our fave ways to emulate her look!

Beyond Coal

Sport Pact’s new undies to help the Sierra Club fight one of the world’s biggest pollutants
sierrapact1.jpg

The comfy underwear brand with a mission, Pact recently teamed up with like-minded environmentalists the Sierra Club to do something about one of the leading causes of smog, acid rain, global warming and air toxins. Tapping college universities as a way of galvanizing cities to reduce their carbon footprint, Pact and Sierra Club have led a series of protests and petitions encouraging the schools to abandon using coal power. Sierra Club’s Mary Anne Hitt expains, “These college campuses are burning coal in spite of the fact that they are building tomorrow’s leaders, who overwhelmingly look to cleaner technologies to power their future.”

With underwear as the tangible representation of their message and 10% of the proceeds supporting the Club, together they’re promoting clean air and responsible action. The “Beyond Coal” collection is just one reminder of the environmental impact this antiquated energy method has on the earth.

Like their Festive Holiday Lights collection, this edition promises all the ergonomic design of their skivvies (the cut provides maximum comfort without the look of granny panties), keeping you looking good in seminude while also feeling good about where you’ve turned over your cash.

The Beyond Coal collection sells online for men and women starting at $20.

Travel Into Spring With Tribal Prints!

imageSure we’d love to see the Serengeti or hike the Himalayas, but this season you don’t need to shell out big bucks for a world-traveler wardrobe!

Designers like Vivienne Tam and Gwen Stefani at L.A.M.B. sent models down the runway in offbeat combinations of texture, color and print.

We also adore SUNO’s socially responsible styles that are designed in NYC then manufactured in Kenya and India. The label is already a favorite of stars like Elle Fanning and Rachel McAdams.

So we’re going to skip the expensive airfare and head over to the nearest mall to pick up global gems like summer-ready skirts and African-inspired accessories.
