Steal Gossip Girl Star Taylor Momsen’s Edgy-Chic Look!

I never thought I would admire and actually be inspired by the style of a 15-year-old until “Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen burst onto the scene. Like her character “Jenny” on the hit show, Taylor has undergone a major style transformation and has been showing an affinity for edgy, rocker-chic styles. At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Annex NYC grand opening, Taylor rocked it in an embellished dress by reigning king of disheveled cool Alexander Wang, adding a pair of elegant Balenciaga t-strap pumps. A shaggy yet sleek ‘do, silver cuff, and embellished bangle were the perfect finishing touches for this good-girl-gone-bad look. The key to this look is always remembering to balance out the rougher details with more refined pieces.

Get City Girl Olivia Palermo’s Polished Chic Look

While the character she plays, or is, on The City is pretty loathe-able, you’ve got to admit Olivia Palermo’s style is pretty phenomenal. The socialite has a major knack for mixing and matching throwing high-end items together with low-end and playing with varying proportions, cuts, and fabrics. At the book launch for Awareness: Inspiring Stories About How to Make a Difference hosted by Kenneth Cole, Olivia looked polished and chic with a bit of edgy-fashion-forwardness thrown into the mix wearing a red skirt with cascading ruffles, a loose blazer, platform ankle boots and some seriously statement-making necklaces. This look can work for an event, the office, a date, cocktail hour, and so much more, so why not give it a go?

Steal Mary-Kate Olsen’s Cozy-Chic Layered Look!

It can be difficult to look chic and polished during the winter months, when the temptation to bury yourself underneath piles of chunky layers is at an all-time high. The Olsen twins are a constant source of fashion inspiration for me and at the New York screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, funky sis Mary-Kate once again delivered a knockout performance with a look that was super stylish and totally cold-weather practical. Mary-Kate fended off the chill wearing a black dress, black velvet coat, and a funky leopard print Louis Vuitton scarf which added a pop of color to the monochrome look. She injected the look with some of her signature edge, sporting a pair of cut out booties by Proenza Schouler and accessorizing with some statement-making rings.

The tuxedo trend marches on this season stronger than ever. This style definitely isn’t fail-proof and there is a strong risk of looking like you’re dressed up as a man for Halloween! At the New York premiere for her new flick Bride Wars, the gorgeous Anne Hathaway showed fashion lovers everywhere how to get it right and we would be remiss not to take note! The stunning star looked sexy and sleek wearing a form-fitting Band of Outsiders suit given a playful edge with metallic Christian Louboutin pumps and tassel earrings from Tiffany & Co. This look can easily transition from the office to the bar and exudes that perfect mix of sexiness and sophistication.

Steal Her Style: Blake Lively’s Summery Hamptons Look

imageBlake Lively is one of the most stylish starlets in Tinseltown — and she doesn’t work with a personal stylist. The outfit she recently wore to QVC’s Super Saturday charity shopping event in the Hamptons was molto bene and perfect for a breezy summer day. Blake paired a form-fitting white mini by Herve Leger with a tailored blue-and-white-striped Oxford, and the classic preppiness of the shirt balanced the raciness of the eensie-weensie skirt. She finished the look with a pair of brown patent round-toe pumps and a long chain necklace. Here’s how you can get her look for way less, courtesy of Lemondrop!

1. Elizabeth and James Schoolboy Shirt: This menswear-inspired shirt features ruched sleeves and back buttons to keep it looking fitted, not boxy. $264
2. Forever 21 Cut Off Denim Skirt: A crisp white skirt like this can be worn to a daytime BBQ or as an impromptu beach cover-up. $20
3. Matisse Pump: A thick wooden heel and shiny patent upper combine to make this pump a true eye-catcher. $42
4. Sequin Long Chain Necklace: Add some funky style to a more classic look with a fun, tiered chain necklace like this gorgeous silver version. $40

Rock A Casual-Chic Safari Style Like Sophia Bush

imageTo celebrate the OPen Campus Launch Party in LA, “One Tree Hill” star Sophia Bush rocked a casual-chic summer style. Sophia paired a variety of neutral-hued items together including a lightweight brown cardigan, plaid white tank, army green short, and tan criss-cross strap Miu Miu platform sandals. She gave this safari-inspired style an updated twist with a standout multi-chain necklace and sleek metallic clutch. Neutrals have been one of the strongest summer trends and will continue to dominate well into the fall. Rock a Leather Mini Like Isla Fisher

imageAt the “Rock A Little, Feed A Little” benefit concert in L.A., the adorable Isla Fisher got in touch with her sexy side, rocking this season’s leather trend in a fun and funky way. Isla paired her leather mini with a cool tie-dye tee-shirt and accessorized the look with funky peep-toe booties, a pendant necklace, and an edgy cuff. I love how Isla tempered the inherent sexiness of her leather mini with a more casual top to keep the look from being too vampy. Balance is a key concept to keep in mind when rocking anything leather. Isla also gets points for showing accessory-restraint. When you’re outfit is this cool, you really don’t need to pile on many extras.

Rock Sexy Stripes Like Leighton Meester

imageAt the Teen Choice Awards, Leighton Meester rocked a fashion-forward look that was both sweet and sexy. The “Gossip Girl” star wore a funky striped dress from Louis Vuitton, which was accented with ruffle details adding a flirty sensibility. She gave the look a sexy kick with red Brian Atwood pumps and an edgy black cuff by Cathy Waterman and rounded out the mix with a dainty pair of earrings. Stripes are super hot right now and can work for anyone, no matter your style. When wearing graphic prints, it’s usually best to keep everything else relatively simple to avoid sensory overload. You can pair a striped frock with a few standout pieces like Leighton, go bold with piles of accessories, or keep it simple and team it with basic pumps.
