I am so fond of a gold sequined mini dress- it’s such a versatile option that always looks amazing and can be teamed with any color under the sun. Gold is totally the new black! Fashion trendsetter Nicole Richie demonstrated the fabulousness of the sequined mini to ring in the New Year at Tao and Lavo in Las Vegas. Nicole is always one to pile on the accessories but given the standout nature of this style, she left the glitzy pieces at home, finishing off her look with black tights and black Yves Saint Laurent pumps. A relaxed, slouchy style like Nicole’s is highly wearable and can be toned down with a sharp blazer, vest, or cozy knit and vamped up with killer heels or sexy booties. Shop Jessica Lowndes’ Electric Chic Look!

imageI am placing 90210 star Jessica Lowndes on my ‘one to watch’ list due to her undeniable flair for fashion. At the at the For Joseph’s Chic Holiday Soiree to benefit the MS Society, Jessica looked stunning and sexy with a look that managed to be simultaneously bold and restrained. Jessica brought out her beautiful baby blues with an electric blue Mara Hoffman dress which she toughened up with a vintage-looking leather jacket by For Joseph. She played up the edgy motif with an embellished Jimmy Choo fringed clutch, funky Jimmy Choo pumps, and kepy the jewelry to a minimum with a Lia Sophia cocktail ring to finish it all off. All together these pieces made for an incredible ensemble but each one individually, from the dress to the clutch, can help update your look.

Give Stripes A Fashion-Forward Spin Like Nicky Hilton

imageAt the Beverly Hills launch of the Paris Hilton hair and beauty line, Nicky Hilton rocked this season’s strong shoulder trend to perfection with a look that was fun, sexy, and statement-making without being too dramatic. Nicky gave her look a nautical spirit with a striped tunic dress which she topped off with a tuxedo jacket. Given the standout nature of the jacket, she kept everything else minimal, accessorizing the look with patent Yves Saint Laurent platform pumps, a matching black patent clutch, and a dainty Chanel beaded necklace. I love how Nicky teamed a basic, wear-anywhere tunic with an of-the-moment item- it definitely elevated what could have been a very standard, run-of-the-mill style into so much more. Rock Sexy Shorts Like Jessica Stroup!

imageAt the GQ Men of the Year party in Hollywood, “90210” star Jessica Stroup looked polished and chic. Jessica showcased her stunning gams with a pair of glittering shorts by Amber Valetta for Monrow and sexy Jimmy Choo booties. She offset the sexiness of her short-shorts with a slightly loose satin top and slightly slouchy black blazer- both by Monrow. To keep the look on the minimal side, she abandoned accessory excess, finishing the look with a just compact box clutch. Shorts are a fabulous alternative to miniskirts, in a not obviously sexy kind of way. This look would also look amazing with black tights, for a more cold-weather friendly outfit. Sequins are going strong this season and Nikki put her own spin on the look, pairing a gold Nanette Lepore sequined dress with a vintage tuxedo blazer. She added a bit more glitz to the the standout look with diamond bracelets by Dana Rebecca Designs and rounded out the mix with sexy zipper pumps and a sleek clutch (both from Jimmy Choo). This look is perfect for just about any holiday fete, from an office party to a cocktail party. The key thing to remember when rocking something sequined is to keep the rest of the look fairly basic.

By taking a minimal approach to the accessories, Charlize kept the look polished and chic and allowed her natural beauty to really shine. Gwen wore a halter LBD and added some shape to the look by cinching the waist with a black belt. She finished the look with black patent pumps, a black LAMB clutch, and a dazzling Lorraine Schwartz bracelet.This look was polished, chic, and sexy but in a subtle way. And unlike most of Gwen’s ensembles, it’s totally wearable and can work beautifully on anyone, no matter what your age or size.
