Beauty Pick Me Up – Ready, Set, Glow!

imageNow that the days are longer and the sun is shining brighter, we’re shedding our cold weather layers! Another thing to shed? Pasty skin! Now that Spring is here, that means we’ll be showing a lot more skin and who wants to flaunt pale legs and shoulders that haven’t seen the light of day in months?

Maybe it’s still a little too chilly to go sunbathing by the pool, or perhaps you just don’t have the time in your busy schedule and it’s no secret that tanning beds just aren’t good for you. But we still want that warm, sexy glow now! Luckily for us, self tanners are everywhere these days and we’ve narrowed it down to our top five self-tanner picks that we’ve tried and loved. Check out why then click the slideshow!

Jergens – Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer: When it comes to drugstore brands, this is one of the originals and the best. At less than $9.00 for 4oz., the price is right and the express version delivers! Get believable, even color in just three days! The only down side? We’re sold on the price and color, but there is the tell-tale self tanner scent.

Clarins – ‘Delectable’ Self Tanning Mousse: Color applies evenly and appears after only a few uses and gives a warm, sexy glow! It dries very quickly with minimal tell-tale self tanner scent and with the addition of Mirabelle oil, it leaves skin soft and smooth, making it a great 3-in-1 product of self tanner, skin moisturizer and sun care lotion!

Victoria’s Secret – Sunkissed Bronze Instant Self Tan Lotion: Instant color! We watched ourselves turn into bronze goddesses before our very eyes! Plus, the color lasts and at only $12.00 for 6oz, we’re loving the price! The one down side? It takes a little longer to dry than the 5 minutes is claims so make sure you have a little extra time before getting dressed.

St. Tropez – Tanning Essentials Self Tan Bronzing Lotion: With a silky feel and light floral scent, this self tanner feels more like a nice body lotion than a self tanner! It builds believable color quickly and dries quickly. The down side? The color doesn’t seem to last longer than a couple days so stock up!

Jane Iredale – Tantasia Self Tanner: It smells like grapefruits and goes on smoothly and streak free. You see a slightly more bronze tone within the first application and builds gradually and believably. The color lasts a long time too and is great for sensitive skin!

Daily Obsesh – Themis Mobile

imageWho says mobiles are just for a baby’s room? The girls here at the Hive have discovered a modern graphic design mobile that will look perfect anywhere in your home, especially the office!

Graphic designer and illustrator, Clara von Zweigbergk, created the Themis mobile, in collaboration with Los Angeles-based Artecnica, using simple materials of paper, wood and metal.

The bright, cheerful geometric shapes boast neon and fluorescent colors mixed with neutral browns. Hollow and made of lightweight paper, the colorful shapes bounce gingerly like planets floating through the universe.

Sure to add a bit of pop to any room, we are loving it for your home office, or a sunny spot in the kitchen. Baby will love it, too!

Daily Obsesh – Pixie Market Jacquard Fingerless Gloves

imageThese Pixie Market gloves are so adorable! They’d be really cute under a jean jacket or leather jacket when going out or waiting in line for a concert. Once in the club or a concert, it’s usually too hot for a sweater but waiting to get in is freezing which is the worst part of going out. But unlike a sweater, these arm warmers fold up small enough to go in your handbag!

The cool thing about these in particular is the detail on the hand. Checks on the palm side, a Scandinavian-inspired geometric design on the back of your hand!

These Jacquard fingerless gloves are a wonderful accessory to have or gift to give!

Check out these Sam Edelman Studded Platform Wedges. Show off your fun pedicure but don’t freeze your cute little toes off! The studs along the base of the shoe add great depth and you can never go wrong with classic black.

The heel is our fave part of the shoe! Just like the weather that can’t make up its mind, neither does this shoe – but that’s why we love it!

Video Style Steal Throwback – Lisa Loeb ‘Stay (I Missed You)’

imageShe’s the ultimate one-hit wonder and we’ll admit it – Lisa Loeb’s 90’s mega-hit ‘Stay’ is still a tune we find stuck in our heads and humming to.

And as catchy as her ballad was, it was her 90’s style that we’re really digging! With cat-eye tortoise frames and a simple knit black dress, complete with opaque tights and ankle boots, she’s got a look that we can see ourselves rocking even today, with just a few minor style changes to make it a little more of-the-moment. Or go for a retro 90’s style and change nothing!
