Daily Obsesh – Fringed Fan Necklace

imageCleopatra was a damn sexy woman. Not only did she rule a whole country, but she knew how to rock the latest outfits and a whole lotta gold bling.

And we’re pretty sure, if she were around today, she would give this necklace‘ two thumbs up. Just look at it – a thick gold chain with gold tassels hanging from a large blue gem pendent. You don’t need to be a pharaoh to realize it’s gorgeous!

But considering how many hot, powerful men Cleo (that’s what we call her for short) attracted with her smooth style and sensuality, we don’t mind taking a cue from this “reincarnate” of a goddess. Even if she was the one who dubbed herself that.

Daily Obsesh – Holey Grommet Bucket Bag

imageI can never seem to find the right go-to bag‘ during the summer.

The rest of the year, I carry a big black leather purse that can fit just about anything, but as soon as the sun starts shining daily and the clothes start stripping off (oooh, yeah!) – as in the summer dresses and shorts come out – then the thought of carrying a black bag just doesn’t work. That’s why I’m drawn to the Holey Grommet Bucket Bag.

While it’s not real leather (that might be a good thing), it’s also therefore not too costly. And it’s cream-colored so it matches every warm-day outfit and best of all, it’s big and spacious!

That means I can carry around water, makeup, my wallet and keys … a beach cruiser bike chain. You know, the essentials you need for a good, memorable summer. Look out sunny days. Here I come!

Bag of the Week – SR Squared by Sondra Roberts Rio Color Block

imageAll over the runways this season, designers have been working with color blocking. Solids are back!

This Rio Color Block bag looks classy but trendy. The colors are sophisticated and the bag has clean lines and design. The metal handle and chain strap add an industrial edge to a classic shape and color palate.

Fold over purses hold a ton of stuff and protect it better than almost any clasp. While the colors are neutral, the chain and fold over shape both make the bag look young, hip, and casual while staying work and partying appropriate.

Also, it’s synthetic which means Peta, vegans, and your wallet will thank you.

Calypso St. Barth for Target

imageIf anything could put you in a summer mood, it’s the new Calypso St. Barth for Target collection that’s available now online and in stores.

I headed down to my nearest Target store (Daly City/Seramonte Mall) and was pleasently surprised to find a lot of the items available and in stock. The collection ranges from womens (including swimwear and lingerie) and girls/toddler/infant clothing to accessories (think beachy totes, espadrilles, jewelry) as well as some eclectic pieces for the home.

My favorite by far is this turquoise Fan-Print Dress ($36.99) that I am actually wearing now with leggings, my gold bangles, and gold Tory Burch flats. (It’s a rare warm day here in SF!)

I will mention that the photos online don’t do the collection justice at all. They look so much better in person! I was really surprised at the quality and the beautiful dyeing details in the fabric.

Daily Obsesh – Boogie Woogie Salt n Pepper Shaker

imageDinner talk can get kinda boring. Liven it up with some fun table play! Everyone is told to not play with their food but no one said anything about the condiments! These Boogie Woogie Salt and Pepper shakers are fun for the whole family.

With wheels attached to both shakers all you need to do is push the shaker and it€™ll wheel itself across the table to the next person. Now you don’t need to worry about arms in your face while you’re eating.

The shakers come in black and white (to distinguish between salt and pepper) and look great on your table with their aluminum finish. Dinner just got more interesting!

Daily Obsesh – Soft Joie Emilia Tie Dye Maxi Dress

imageMaxi dresses are the single easiest answer to the anxiety-inducing question ‘What should I wear?’ Effortlessly dressed up or down, they’re super comfortable, conservative but pretty, and the only garment more versatile than a good maxi is a solid blue jean.

This maxi will become quickly an staple in your closet – neutral colors, flattering shape and a subtle pattern. Tie-dye done well is lovely, bohemian, and delightfully nostalgic, bringing back the best of the Flower Children without all of the patchouli-masked body odor and acid flashbacks. Worn with Lennon-inspired shades, Frye college boots, and a jean jacket, you€™ll look like the cream of the Deadhead crop.

The beautiful thing about maxis is their chameleon-like shape shifting. Although going retro is an eternally fun option, this dress can be fancied up with heels, down with gladiator sandals, over a bathing suit, under a boyfriend-cut blazer or a cropped Angela Chase sweater.

Once you put it on, you will wear it into the ground. Much like your beloved blue jeans.
