Fall Head Over Heels In Love With Nine West Sandals For Spring!

I love Nine West. Their shoes are amazingly adorable (for the most part), durable, well-made and – perhaps most important of all though I loathe to admit I need this in a shoe – comfortable. Nine West has done a great job of fusing style and comfort. These are shoes that can be worn to the office, and – if you choose the right ones – likely even worn to walk to and from work as well! They’re definitely functional for a night out on the town. That’s why I’ve had my finger on the pulse of West, and was ecstatic when their new line came out for spring: sandals and wedges and strappies, oh my! There are tons of options and this season they’ve gone a bit more structured with a lot of their sandals – wide heels, sturdier platforms, thicker straps. These are not dainty shoes, folks, and I love them! My favorites are the platforms with straps. These are an emerging trend right now and you can’t go wrong. They can be worn with jeans, skirts, office attire, sundresses and much more. So prepare for a fun summer and stock up on your Nine West! See more at TheFind.

Beauty Gadgets For Spa-Quality Glamour At Home Or On The Go!

Even for someone as relatively tech-savvy as I am, it’s difficult keeping track of the ever-changing developments in cell phones, PDAs, laptops, cameras, etc. (and whatever pocket-sized gizmo will show up next to more conveniently combine all four). If you’re someone who still rocks an old Nokia out of fear of any device that functions as more than just a phone, doesn’t understand a word of technology jargon, and/or often spaces out during Apple Genius appointments (“I don’t care what you do or what it costs — just fix it!”) Sephora, in tandem with the many brands the makeup mothership carries, offers a variety of gadgets that might actually speak your language! While more and more people are trying to save by cutting back on their regular spa trips, high-tech beauty tools for at-home treatments are becoming increasingly popular, easier to use, and even more advanced for cheaper costs, making even the pricier devices good investments when you think about all the trips to the salon you’ll be saving. While a technology-phobic gal may argue that her old-fashioned eyelash curler works just fine, the upgraded heated ones are undeniably simple to use and get the job done better! And it’s hard to resist the convenient convertibility of the Bliss rechargeable hair trimmer with interchangeable blades for all those pesky hard-to-reach spots you risk nicking while shaving. Before your inner caveman acts out and forces you to reject all things techie, check out the slideshow to see just how convenient some of these new cosmetic contraptions really are!

Keep Your Heart A-Flutter On Your Wedding Day: Things To Make It A Butterfly-Filled Day

You’re walking outside along a bushel of great-smelling pink and purple wildflowers with the warm late-summer sky sunning your rosy cheeks, and who better to flutter along than a gorgeous, happy little butterfly! Whether you’re looking for one, or they pop up right next to you on the crosswalk during your daily work commute, butterflies always make the day special — so allow the wonderful winged creatures to honor you as your ceremony’s theme! As a die-hard butterfly fan like myself would know, August is butterfly month, so if your date’s towards the bittersweet end of summer, perhaps you should toy with the idea of sneaking in a butterfly or two to your marital plans. From jewelry to tableware, there’s a butterfly-option to tickle your fancy. Oh yeah, and if you’re looking for an alternative to tossing confetti after I-do’s, look into the release of some attractive alternatives!

Hot In The Hive: Smittens!

When I used to live in a frozen tundra (also known as the East Coast) taking walks with my boyfriend was always something I looked forward to during those freezing winter days. However, no matter how amazing his company was, holding hands with both of us wearing thick gloves or mittens was quite a challenge. With snow storms still going on (clearly winter weather doesn’t know it’s already March) and if you’ve ever had that kind of problem, then a pair of Smittens is just right for you. At first sight, Smittens look like regular mittens until you realize that they come with two regular mittens for your hand and his, and then a hybrid mitten to share! So now you can take those romantic walks while staying close together and warm at the same time!

Price: $24.49
Who Found It: facadeindreams was the first to add Smittens to the Hive.

Channel A Pin-Up Bathing Beauty With A One-Piece Retro Swimsuit!

Whether it’s the poorly lit dressing rooms with funhouse-like mirrors or finding styles you swear only Amazonian size 2 supermodels can wear, almost everyone I know has a terrible time shopping for swimsuits for their upcoming spring break trips or summer vacations. And when you do find the one you love, having to change your figure just to wear it totally takes the fun out of summer. So I was watching old film clips of swimming film star Esther Williams just the other day and thought the retro swimwear styles would suit many figures today! The lowcut legs and sweetheart necklines look good on almost everyone and one-piece bathing suits can help hide any little bumps you don’t want anyone to see. Speaking of Esther Williams, get a polka-dotted swimsuit made by her company! For a totally modern and retro look, take a look at this cut-out style swimsuit by American Eagle. Next time you’re lounging by the poolside, think of Dita von Teese or Bettie Page, don a bit of glam red lipstick and be the cool and classic pin-up girl everyone will envy! Click the slideshow to see more retro one-piece swimsuits you’ll look forward to wearing.

Blazers, Blazers Everywhere – So Jump on the Trend for Less

With every season comes a dizzying whirlwind of trends, some worth trying, and some not. Likewise, classics reinvent themselves, if only to keep up with the ever-changing fashion world, and our favorite example comes in the form of the schoolboy blazer! It goes without saying that a classic blazer is an essential piece of every wardrobe, but if you’re looking for a fresh, young way to incorporate the staple suit piece into your outfits, a schoolboy blazer will do the trick. Pair it with jeans for a cute, quirky look, or layer one over a dress and let the blazer’s boyish charm do the talking. However you wear it, you’ll agree that this is one piece you won’t want to go without this spring! Click over to Fashiontribes for their ideas on how you can make the boy blazer work for you- for less!

Vintage Fashionistas Are Tickled Pink!

Ah, pink! It’s a color associated with Mattel’s Barbies, Mary Kay’s cadillacs and little girls everywhere. But did you know that between the 1920s and 1940s, it was blue that was considered dainty and delicate and appropriate for girls and that pink was considered to be the more masculine color appropriate for boys! Sometime in the 1940s, societal norms shifted and now pink is back and bigger than ever! Neiman Marcus called pink one of this season’s Top Trends so we can expect to see big and little girls alike strutting their stuff in cerise, fuchsia, magenta, and flamingo shades. And these powerful pink colors have a way of saying “Yes, I’m feminine but I also mean business!” So click the slideshow for some fab vintage finds that will tickle you pink!

Shop Savvy: Coast To Coast Consignment Store Roundup!

Spring is soon around the corner and you’re wondering how you’re going to afford some new duds to update your wardrobe. Well when times are tough, the savvy get shopping €¦ at consignment stores that is. Consignment stores are a great place to sell some of your own stuff to make room for new, or just to go browse for some great deals. I’ve rounded up some of the best stores from coast to coast to get everything from Gucci gowns to J.Crew suits; Miu Miu sandals to Nike Dunks at a fraction of the price.

New York
Tokyo 7, 64 E 7th St, New York, NY: A hidden gem in the East Village. A perfect mix of old and new; this store tends to lean more towards “downtown” savvy shopper looking for that off kilter designer piece at fraction of the price. Shoes are often a bit worn, but worth looking at since you can sometimes find a winner.

Ina, Multiple locations in Manhattan and an online boutique: Mostly designer at about a quarter of the price. A well edited store of slightly worn high end designer, but beware this is the cast off place for editors and models, so its rare to find goods over a size 4. Bags go quickly and are still expensive, shoe selection is great- and most are only slightly worn.

Our Favorite Big Bags Under $100!

I can understand that you might have a hard time parting with your faithful old backpack you’ve been using daily for ages for work or school, but you have to admit that it’s probably seen better days. True, it’s comfy, it’s convenient, and it’s got all those nifty pockets for all your junk and knick-knacks… but is it really all that stylish? It’s easy to assume that in times like these you can’t afford a new bag other than a cheap-quality canvas tote you’d get for free with the purchase of some other necessity, so you may be surprised to know how many sleek, sturdy, and over-sized bags can be found for less than $100! Urban Outfitters has a huge variety of leather totes and satchels of all styles and sizes for super-reasonable prices — some even have just as many zippers and buttoned pockets as that ratty old backpack did, so you can stay just as organized, but this time in style! Nordstrom and other department stores also carry more high-end high-quality brands that go on sale so you can snag them for up to half off! Check out the slideshow for some more big bags you can use for school and work to load up all your loot for less!
