Work A Fresh And Flirty Dirndl Skirt Into Your Wardrobe!

imageThis spring, it’s really about keeping things flirty, feminine and fresh and what better way to achieve all three than with the a dirndl skirt? The great thing about the dirndl skirt is that it is versatile, comfortable and effortlessly fashionable. Characterized by their tightly gathered material at the waistband, dirndl skirts are popping up everywhere from Forever 21 to Club Monaco to runway giant Valentino. They mask wide hips and thighs and make the waist look tiny in comparison so that every girl can have the Marilyn Monroe physique! Tuck in a crisp, fitted knit shirt or tank and pair it with cute flats and matching headband for a girly springtime outfit, or shorten the hemline and lengthen the heels for a flirty, sex-kitten look! Dirndl skirts are even work appropriate with the right blazer and pumps. Try a structured button down and a wide belt or pair a super short dirndl skirt with leggings and give it a 90’s twist. Or, look for a dress that features a dirndl bottom to really play up your feminine side! Click the slideshow to see my favorites.

Vintage Fashionistas Love Fashion Origami

imageOrigami is a world-wide art form that can be traced all the way back to about 500 A.D. Originating in China, the birthplace of paper, it was brought to Japan by Buddhist monks and today refers to the sculptural representation of folding in any medium. In fashion, that medium is fabric, suede, and leather. And while origami has been used in recent collections by many designers, this isn’t the first time that designers have been inspired by the ancient craft. That means that there are plenty of fine vintage examples to be found in the marketplace with some devoted searching. Whether it’s on a handbag, a skirt, or a knock ’em dead dress, three-dimensional texture inspired by origami makes for some interesting and creative designs. Hot In the Hive: SuperHeadz Golden Half Camera By Chelsea Maika

imageI know what you’re thinking: another novelty camera? Before you roll your eyes and scroll onward, hear me out! This boxy little contraption isn’t just another artsy throwback gadget or a rebellion against digital technology to replace your trusty Canon. Not only is it cute and compact, but the SuperHeadz Golden Half Camera lets you take 2 individual standard vertical format photos on each frame of a 35mm film roll – one right next to the other. This not only allows you to double the number of pics that can be taken on one roll (ie: 48 pictures on a 24 exposure roll), but also encourages you to unleash your artistic visionary side by automatically juxtaposing the images you shoot on the same frame so that they appear side by side on one sheet of photo paper. Whether you want to emphasize some before and after shots of your kitchen from a particularly messy cooking disaster, or maybe prove your point on how much your ex-boyfriend looks like his dog, this camera’s clever capabilities are bound to have your creative side running amok!

Price: $64
