Even in a tight economy like this one, we can’t help but splurge on a salon haircut and blow-dry, perfectly manicured nails and toes, and whichever new beauty gadget comes out to help replicate that professionally-done look at home. And now famed hairstylist Oribe has come up with the ultimate way to look like a million bucks — literally? The 24K Gold Pomade is actually made from crushed gold (in fact, it looks like golden goo-glitter) and serves almost as “makeup” for your hair, giving you shimmering gold highlights (which the creator admits will gild your clothing if you’re not careful) while helping you style and providing moisture and UV protection to your luminescent locks. While this product is certainly healthier for your hair, it definitely doesn’t seem like it’s for the demure. Make sure you’re prepared to stand out in a seriously shimmery way before you start going Midas all over your mane.

Denim Jackets That Never Go Out Of Style!

imageDenim jackets really never go out of style and they keep getting updated each season with more stylized looks to keep them fresh and modern. I’ve been wearing my H&M Stella McCartney denim jacket for the last few years and it’s always been a great summer staple. I really want to update my look this summer so I’m looking around for a new piece with the same kind of versatility. I love this Pilot Denim Jacket ($178 at Anthropologie). It’s got a great denim wash and it’s has a perfect casual/dressy ratio to it when paired with a summery dress. Other denim jackets I’m really diggin’ are the Mike & Chris Gibson Jacket ($345), J. And while the recession may limit our spending, it doesn’t have to limit our fun in planning the perfect nuptials. Sure, Heidi Pratt may have looked great in $20,000, but perhaps it says a little something more if you can look great in $500 or less. These days, that extra $19,500 or so might look a bit better in house, car or food form than it does on your already beautiful self — you’d probably be surprised just how good a $500 or less dress looks, anyway! Marc Jacobs Introduces Under $200 “Don’t Miss The Marc” Capsule Collection!
