imageI love flats. I practically wear them every day and to all occasions. I can’t even remember what I used to wear before I started slipping on those cute and comfy babies. Wait, yes I do. It was sneakers (love my Chucks), but I had to find something else after I realized that old school Nikes are not acceptable for all occasions. Like job interviews. And now Adidas has taken my two favorite forms of footwear and morphed them into one mega shoe: the Gazelle Ballerina. Not to quote Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana or whoever she chooses to be today, but you do get the best of both worlds with these shoes. imageGrowing up, I remember school supply shopping and positively begging my poor mother for folders adorned with Lisa Frank creatures, smiley faces, or other such nonsense. My mom would always shoot me down though, aiming for the classically primary-colored notebooks, folders, and pencils. Now that I’m older, I can see why, but it sure is fun to look at some of these retro-inspired school supplies! How cute would this brass pencil can look on a chic Parsons-style desktop? And I love these librarian-themed notebooks from etsy seller erinzam. And my baby brother who just headed off to college is going to love this Rubik’s cube alarm clock. Our Top 5 Over-The-Knee Boots for Fall!

Over-the-knee boots were all the rage this season and are the perfect shoe to add to your collection. Sitting Pretty: Chic And Comfortable Tufted Furniture

imageUnlike many of my friends, I actually like firm furniture and beds. If I sleep on a soft and mushy bed, I wake up with a sore back. Guess I could blame it on my semester abroad in Taiwan where I slept on a bamboo mat for four months. Hard as a rock beds and wooden furniture are now my priorities when shopping for my home. That’s when I discovered the beauty of tufted furniture! I know tufted pieces can seem really old fashioned and taken right out of Versailles, but I can imagine just getting one or two and having it look super chic with my minimalist (read: IKEA) furniture. Best of all, it’s a nice balance between firm and soft. I really like the convertible couch found over at PB Teen which doubles as a sofa and a full size bed, and this velvet ottoman from Brocade Home which does triple duty as an ottoman, coffee table, and extra seating.
